Erika’s POV
I unbuttoned my shirt slowly. As more and more of my skin was exposed, his eyes grew darker and darker. His face didn’t change. But he grasped the sheet and the popping veins on his hands betrayed him. He must have a hard time refraining from having sex with me.
Suddenly, the curtain was blown aside by the wind. A ray of moonlight shone on his face and set off his chiseled features.
The Moon Goddess made us mates. Think about how happy she will be when she sees me on top of you. I mind-linked him playfully as I put my hands on his belt.
His eyes widened at my words and then thought of something. He sat up and pushed me aside, trying to make me loosen the belt. But I tightened my grip and refused to let go.
I looked at him in confusion.
“I"ll wait. On Blood Day, I will announce under the moon that you are officially the Luna of my pack. Then we’ll have sex,” He explained.
Are you sure? I peeped at his lower part which was bulging and asked through mind-link. I felt sorry for him. Because if he was thinking about having sex with me after Blood Day, he would be so disappointed.
“Yes. The beginning of our relationship is not pleasant. This time, I can wait until you are officially my Luna. I’ll be very patient.” He said as he removed my hand from his belt. Then he covered his lower part with the quilt.
OK. So how is the exact date of Blood Day decided? I mind-linked him and buttoned my shirt. I didn’t look at him because I was a little nervous deep inside. I needed to know the exact time so that I could prepare for the escape in advance.
“We have our traditional way. According to our tradition, you are not officially the Luna and you can’t take part in it. But if you are interested in it, I’ll make an exception and you can go with us. But you need to keep it a secret. Don’t tell anyone, not even Angel. Do you understand?”
I nodded. Of course, I was interested in it. The time of the party was the key information for my escape plan. I had to say, these days Derek was very kind to me. He changed a lot, making many recessions for me. But that was not enough for changing my mind. He was willing to make changes, but that was far from enough. He wouldn’t allow me to be a real fighter. I wouldn’t give up my escape plan, but I would surely miss him after I left him.
“It’s held tomorrow night. Now it’s time to sleep.” He said while rubbing my nose slightly.
OK. I smiled at him and curled up to him. I leaned against his chest and closed my eyes.
However, I lost sleep for the entire night.
While Derek was sound asleep, a lot was going on in my heart. The fact was that I didn’t get as excited as I thought I would be. Somehow I felt guilty. Honestly, my life here was not that bad, being not alone anymore and was always accompanied by others. I would miss it if I left. I would miss Carl, Sylvia, and their little baby. I would miss Angel. And above all, I would miss Derek. I was alarmed to realize that I had gotten used to my life here and I even began to enjoy it.
A day later.
Finally, it was at night. At eight o’clock, Derek led me to a secret room that I had never heard about before. We made several turns and opened some doors before we finally arrived at the secret room.
It was a small room and only the pack leaders were there. But it was quite empty with only a desk and several chairs. I wondered how it would be decided.
The other pack leaders were quite surprised at my presence.
“Alpha, she is not officially the Luna,” Kent said.
“I know. It’s OK. She just wants to see it. After all, she’ll do it next year.” Derek explained. I hated to admit it, but what he said made me a little guilty. All he was thinking about was to make me the Luna while everything I did was for my escape plan. I began to think how he would feel after he came back from the party and found out that I was already gone. I would escape on the night when he thought he would have sex. I bet I was the only person who dared to do it to him. Would he freak out? Would he hate my guts and never forgive me? Would he search the world for me and take revenge on me?
Derek asked us to stand in a line. I couldn’t take part in it so I went to the end of the line. We walked and stopped in front of a painting on the wall. It was a painting of the Moon Goddess. Seeing that they all lowered their heads, I also followed their lead. When I raised my head again, the painting had been raised, revealing a small dark passage. We passed the small passage and then entered another room.
It was a small room and everything was dark. I couldn’t see anything so I tugged at Derek’s sleeves just to feel secure. He patted my hand and pressed a button. Then the roof was removed and suddenly it was open air. I raised my head and could see the moon in the air. It was round and bright.
Looking at the moon, I felt guilty again. Would the Moon Goddess punish me if she knew what I was doing?
