"Okay, Daisy, go," Joey said. Him, Oli and Erik were quizzing everyone on their covers. The three of them were actually on the mission, however they were staying at the Agency and working behind the scenes, dealing with the information we would send to the Agency.
Currently they were quizzing us on the reasons why we got put into the group homes.
I sighed and crossed my arms over my chest. "I'm there for numerous reasons really. Theft, arson, breaking and entering, running away from one of my many foster homes while on probation. I'm basically a devil child," I said and rolled my eyes.
Blake seemed surprised at my knowledge of my cover.
"Blake, I would rather be anywhere than here preparing for a mission, but it doesn't mean I can't remember a stupid bit of paper," I said. "I know I'm a loose canon, but I'm not going to screw up the mission. I may not do anything to help it, but I'm not going to stop everyone in it."
"That's the team spirit we all love," Carter chuckled.
"Why are you on the mission then?" Emma said. "You're just going to be useless."
"I won't even do anything but I'm pretty sure I'll achieve more than you," I said.
"I've been chosen because I'm good," Emma said and turned her nose up at me.
"No, you've been chosen because you're a bitch," I said dismissively.
"You're the bitch!" Emma gasped. "You have such a good opportunity here at the Agency and you blow it off every chance you can! You're a selfish bitch."
"Don't talk about me like you know me," I warned and sat up straight in my chair. "You don't know anything. The only reason you're still here is because Mason enjoys fucking you, so watch your damn mouth."
"At least I can be touched by a guy without freaking out," Emma snapped and I froze.
"Daisy, ignore it," Blake ordered. "Emma, shut the fuck up."
"It's fine when she's rude to me, but as soon as I say something I'm the bad guy?" Emma said and huffed. "You just want to get on her good side so you can fuck her again."
I bolted up from my chair, but my path to Emma was blocked by Tom and Mason. As soon as Tom reached out to grab me I quickly jumped back, glaring at them. "Don't touch me," I snapped, "and let me rip her fucking weave out."
"Daisy, cool it!" Blake snapped.
"You cool it! She needs knocking on her ass!"
"So do you!" Emma retorted in her whiny voice that shook slightly.
She was a little scared.
Good.
"Emma, shut it or your off the mission," Blake said.
"What about her!" Emma screeched. "She doesn't get that threat!"
"I'll gladly not go on the mission," I said but Blake ignored me.
"Take a seat, Dais," Blake said. "Just ignore her."
"No."
"Sit the fuck down!"
I jumped when my wrist was grabbed and I span round, raising my fist which was caught by Eli. I tensed up and narrowed my eyes at him. "Get off," I said slowly, his touch not freaking me out as much. I was used to it when sparring with him.
"She's not worth it, princess," Eli said lowly and I tried twisting my fist out of his grasp. "And neither is fighting against me."
"I'm not going to last a whole mission with her," I hissed.
"I plan on ignoring the whole bloody time," Eli said and I gasped when he twisted my arm painfully. "And you should too."
"I think it's clear I'm not good at ignoring her!" I growled.
"Learn to be," Eli said. "Sit back down, Daisy."
I pursed my lips and stared defiantly at Eli. "What will you do?"
"I'm in charge of this mission, it needs to run smoothly and you and Emma threaten that. So I'll do whatever is necessary, princess," Eli said and I yelled out when he twisted my arm further.
"Shit!" I gasped. "Fine, get off me, you dick!"
Eli let go of me and stepped back. I sent a glare to Emma and retreated back to my seat.
"Don't look too smug, they'll be a time when no one is here to hold me back," I warned and she paled slightly.
"You're so damn difficult," Blake muttered.
"It's one of my many charms," I shrugged and he smirked slightly.
"Right, Emma," Blake said. "What are the reasons for you being in the group home?"
Emma opened her mouth but paused. "I..."
"You've got a week left, you need to know this," Blake said and rolled his eyes. "Shoplifting."
"I was just going to say that," Emma huffed.
"I'll give you a chance to redeem yourself. You like to shoplift a certain product, what is it?" Blake asked.
Emma went red and didn't say anything.
"It should be easy to remember since you wear so much of it," Eli muttered.
"Makeup!" Emma said with a triumphant grin.
"If you don't know this by next week then you're off the mission," Blake warned. "Eli and I have had to learn all of your covers as well as our own, if we can do it then it's pretty pathetic if you can't manage one."
"Tom, you're up," Erik nodded.
"Drugs," Tom said simply. "Using and dealing. Mainly speed, but a little weed here and there since it's so easy to get a hold of."
"Carter?" Joey asked.
"I've got a little gambling problem. Actually more than a little, extreme. So extreme that I love to do a little breaking and entering into casinos more than I probably should. The police don't take too kindly to that," Carter grinned. "Trouble is, in real life I've never actually been in a casino..."
"Look at images on google or something," Blake said. "They aren't exactly mazes."
"Jack, what did you do?" Oli asked.
"Hacked into NASA," Jack said. "But I didn't cover my tracks as well as I thought and they caught me."
"Mason?" Joey called.
"Public indecency when heavily intoxicated," Mason said with a smirk. "On many occasions. After one too many warnings I got sent to the group home."
"Noah?"
"Car theft," Noah said. "My parents were filthy rich, but never bought me anything I wanted. So I stole a Mercedes and crashed it through their bedroom window. They don't want to see me ever again."
"Hampson?" Erik asked.
"Tom and I were mates, we dealt together. We were known by the police, but they had no solid evidence to arrest us for a while. When we were finally busted we were together at the time," Hampson said and I raised my eyebrows at Hampson.
"Wow, you actually can talk more than a sentence," I murmured and he sent me a glance, but his lips twitched slightly. "You know, ever since I saved your life you've been a little nicer to me," I said with a smirk.
"You saved his life?" Joey asked.
"Right on the kitchen table," I nodded. "If you look really hard you can still see the blood in the cracks in the wood."
"We eat off that table," Noah said, his face screwing up.
"A little blood never hurt anyone," I shrugged.
"What happened?" Dante asked.
"That's a story for another time," Blake said. "Dante, you're up, why are you at the group home?"
"I was always getting into trouble for petty crimes, graffiti, trying to buy alcohol underage, then proceeding to steal said alcohol and getting caught, and so on. My parents got fed up and sent me to military school, which I ran away from, and they said I had constant 'bad behaviour' so when the cops found me my parents didn't want me back and the school wouldn't have me so they sent me to a group home."
"What about you, Eli?" Erik asked.
"According you Blake you know your cover as well as everyone else's, better not fuck it up," I called and Eli sent me a cold look.
"Battery and assault, on numerous occasions. I've also been linked to gang activity in London," Eli recited without any hesitation. "Because I'm nearly 18 in my cover, I nearly got sent to prison, but the judge decided to give me one more chance, similar to Daisy. So I got sent to the group home."
"Well, apart from Emma, you all did pretty well," Blake nodded.
"That's not fair, I was put off by her!" Emma protested and pointed an orange fake nailed finger at me.
"Boo hoo," I said dryly. "Maybe instead of reading all those magazines you should pick up your folder and read that."
"You-"
