Cinderella of Our Time

Chapter 35

Ch. 35 / 59 Aug 22, 2024

(Day 68/122 of the experiment)

Yesterday evening turned out to be truly sincere, and the beer – strong. So, after about an hour and a half-liter, we touched upon the topic of personal lives.

Nick shared his sad story. About how, during his student years, he loved a girl, but she chose not him, but a wealthy man who was almost twice her age. And then his heart was broken, and there ignited a desire to prove to her that he would also become successful.

A few years later, when Kola was already building a fairly successful career in the banking sector, Inesa (that was the girl's name) found him on social media and tried to rekindle their relationship. The reason, unfortunately, was not a love that suddenly awoke. It was just that her husband found himself a young mistress, for whom he left his third wife. And despite the fact that Nick had enough resolve to refuse any communication, he still loved Inesa for a long time.

And I, in turn, told him about Jensen, who left me and thus launched a whole series of events that began to radically change my life, and about Tristan, whom I still love.

And you know what’s most important? Perhaps, nothing will change after yesterday’s conversation – Nick will secretly love Inesa, and I will continue to think about Tristan every day – but I felt so much lighter mentally. As if all the problems you talked about became less significant and painful. Well, I love Tristan – he will soon return to the big city, we will have a chance to try to build a relationship once again. He is a alive and healthy, handsome man, just like me – young, beautiful, and smart. My feelings should inspire me for feats, not become a stumbling block before my goals.

Inspired by my thoughts, I wrote to Daria that I want to share my story for the blog. About how I worked with a psychologist, how I managed to forgive my sister and parents, how I let Tristan go and accepted the fact that I love a person who currently lives on the other side of the planet. I believe that my experience will help many women find strength in difficult times.

To flush out the toxins, I went to the gym – today’s class is without Max; I want to run a bit on the treadmill because it’s raining outside. And I also decided not to drink alcohol because it’s very hard to wake up at 6:30 after it, and my body swells up and feels like a pancake.

In the evening, I cooked myself a meal from the products I bought after the gym and called Daria regarding the upcoming shoot. She just had a scheduling conflict with a guest who was supposed to come tomorrow. Therefore, the studio time that Daria had already paid for would simply be wasted. I decided it would be wrong not to help such a bright person and offered to shoot our joint video tomorrow. She gladly accepted and asked if this wouldn’t ruin any of my plans.

(Day 69/122 of the experiment)

I am very grateful for the people who surround me. After we scheduled the shoot for today, I wrote to the hairdresser and makeup artist at 9 PM, but I had no special hopes. Of course, everyone plans photo sessions and celebrations in advance, and therefore bookings for makeup and hairstyles are made a month ahead. But my beauty fairies found time to get me ready, and so today I will be a real star!

To give my face some tone, I did lymphatic drainage jumps, exercises, and a gua sha facial massage in the morning. This is a Chinese technique where the skin is massaged with a natural stone scraper. Personally, for me, it's a way to reduce puffiness after a sleepless night or general fatigue.

I decided to wear a strict trouser suit for the interview – it highlights my figure and looks restrained. While I was heading to the studio, I decided to buy coffee for myself and Daria, hoping it would reduce our nerves.

I did great today! The shoot lasted almost three hours. We discussed my entire life – childhood, university education, adult life. Daria asked such interesting and insightful questions that I even made so many new conclusions for myself. That’s what it means to have a person in their right place. To celebrate today and somehow encourage myself, I bought a new notebook for gratitude notes.

And Daria treated me to a cake with tea at a small café near the studio.

When I got home, I realized I was very exhausted. It felt like I hadn't done much at all, but there was significant fatigue in my body. After all, being sincere is also demanding when you're talking to nearly a hundred thousand followers. It's like being in a stadium! Am I a star now, if such a large number of people find out about me?

And one more conclusion I've made today is that the habit of cooking for a few days really makes life easier. I came home from the shoot today and reheated some vegetables with porridge and the fish I grilled yesterday. And if the fridge had been empty, I would definitely have ordered pizza or sushi and overloaded on carbs at night.
