(Day 78/122 of the experiment)
Last night, I realized that it is psychologically very difficult for me to take money for any of my work – whether it's advertising on Instagram or my own training sessions. Yet many people earn a living doing just that.
I can’t sort out my psychological blocks on my own, so I called Susan, hoping she could see me. We arranged to meet immediately after my vocal class.
While I was on my way to the singing lesson, I listened to several podcasts (audio recordings on various topics) about the psychology of poverty and the inability to earn money. Honestly, I thought that today I wouldn't be able to shift my focus and would spend the entire lesson wondering whether I should take money from people for my training.
But my teacher is so great that she completely filled my mind with exercises for developing diction and expanding my range.
I nearly ran to Sveta. I was so eager to find out what my problem was and what to do about it.
An hour and a half later, I came out of the psychologist's office as a completely different person. We figured out that life is an energy exchange. For example, a mother exchanges energy with her newborn son through hugs, breastfeeding, and warm words. The child receives care and the opportunity to live, while the mother gains pure love. In everyday life, it’s the same – want to have a coffee? Pay at the café, or buy some beans and brew it at home, while also paying for the coffee, electricity, and water. And work – any work should be compensated.
Conducting a training session is also work. First, I need to rent a studio where I will hold the event. Second, I need to buy drinks and cookies for the coffee break. Third, all the information that I will share has been personally verified by me and will help people. People pay for information, the energy exchange with me, the opportunity to get answers to their questions, and the chance to spend time with someone who has gone through a significant journey to change their life.
Now I’m no longer ashamed to take money for my own knowledge and experience. Because I will be sharing a piece of my soul in the training sessions. And my main goal is to help as many women as possible.
At home, I spent two hours recording a video about the training. But after 20 unsuccessful attempts, I realized that I need a ring light because there wasn't enough light at home.
(Day 79/122 of the experiment)
Today is the penultimate day of the "Leisure" block, and I feel like everything is just beginning. The morning was very active – a run, meditation, a facial massage, affirmations, small videos on Instagram, and gathering for the gym and stretching.
I decided to move both workouts to the first half of the day since I will be occupied with training afterward.
With a refreshed mind, after the workouts I went to the electronics store. Luckily, my salsa partner Kyrylo was the consultant. He explained the difference between a lamp costing 500 UAH and one costing 3000 UAH. He also showed me how to use it properly, how to set the necessary brightness, and in what cases even a lamp wouldn't help.
I headed home with a new cool ring light and a lapel microphone – it’s a tiny microphone that clips onto clothing. I will also use it for shooting videos. I feel like a real star – now I have a mini video recording studio.
The results of my home evening were three videos in which I detailed the training: the price, topics we will cover during the training. With trembling hands, I upload the first video on Instagram and go to sleep.
