(Day 60/122 of the experiment)
On the last day of the "Appearance" block, I decided to dedicate it to my Instagram and share my changes.
So, changing my hairstyle, getting a nice and symmetrical lip shape, professional teeth cleaning, arm epilation, and updating my wardrobe significantly impact my self-esteem. And facial self-massage also trains discipline. I spend about 20-25 minutes on my face every day. And in a relatively short period, my skin has become more elastic and youthful. After all, the muscles in the face are the same as those in the butt or legs. So why do we focus on the beauty of the body but neglect the beauty of the face?
Regarding my hair, I also changed my home care routine. My stylist advised me to wear a restorative or moisturizing mask for at least 2-3 hours! This way, the active components can penetrate deeply into the hair structure, rather than just acting on the surface layers. And my hair has already started to say "thank you!" – it has become stronger and shinier, and I now spend half the time on styling at home because my hair can be tamed much faster.
Lips. This was the point I was most skeptical about. There are so many girls nowadays with over-inflated lips that look like little ducks. And I really didn’t want to join their ranks. But, as it turns out, if you find a competent doctor and don’t overdo it with the filler right away, you can just slightly help nature if it deprived you of lip volume.
Moving on – the dentist. Oh, I know this isn’t just my "favorite" doctor – almost everyone is afraid of dentists like the plague. Again, my experience shows that the key is to choose the right doctor, and then check-ups and even procedures won’t be so scary and unpleasant.
And my favorite – eyebrows and eyelashes. In my opinion, eyebrows create the framing for the face. If you don’t have eyebrows, you don’t have emotions on your face. And eyelashes create a special romantic look for the face. Thanks to the latest technologies, you can avoid the daily long and tedious task of drawing eyebrows where they should be. And after lamination, I have completely stopped using mascara on my lashes! They are so dark, natural, and not clumped together like they are after using mascara.
Well, the time for my experiment is passing so quickly that all I manage to do is rejoice in my changes and observe everything with my mouth agape. How do they say in romantic movies? “More to come”? Tomorrow I will start working on my leisure time. It sounds funny, but it’s true. Because we create our own lives, and only we can fill it with meaning.
“Leisure Time”
(Day 61/122 of the experiment)
Today marks the halfway point of my experiment and a new area of life that I’m starting to explore. To be honest, I haven’t even thought about where I would like to go – sometimes I pondered about Tristan, about Nick and his daughter, and sometimes about the Volvo S90. But, as per tradition, I’m diving into the whirlwind of emotions and events from day one! I’m heading to a salsa class in the evening.
I found a group for adults (can I say “group”? Or is “club by interests” better?), where they teach different dances – bachata, salsa, and kizomba. I chose the least sensual dance – salsa. Because I don’t know if I’ll even be able to dance at all – maybe my childhood dream will remain just a dream forever? Plus – I will be dancing with a stranger, and I’m definitely not ready to embarrass myself in front of an unfamiliar person on the very first class. If it doesn’t work out – I’ll run home to the rhythm of salsa.
To feel more confident, I curled my hair a bit – I think it looks quite romantic, yet still restrained.
While I was on the bus to the city, I was messaging Nick. I still haven’t replied to Tristan. I lack the courage. But in my conversation with KOlga, I made it clear that I’m not ready for anything more than just a friendly relationship for now. It seems he understood me.
Tired, wet, and satisfied, I stepped out of the dance studio. I was very lucky because today there were almost all beginners, and I was paired with Kyrylo – a guy about 20 years old, who came to salsa for the second time. We introduced ourselves, the instructors (a married couple) shared a brief history of the dance, and asked us not to be shy, because “it’s not shameful to not know something, it’s shameful not to try something new.”
I got home in a great mood – I danced a lot, met new people, had a fantastic time, and (kind of) clarified things with Nick. I called my friends, shared my impressions, and posted on Instagram. Within a few minutes, I received three comments suggesting that I should try kizomba and bachata – my followers assured me that these dances are more interesting and sensual.
