Cinderella of Our Time

Chapter 58

Ch. 58 / 59 Aug 22, 2024

(Day 117/122 of the experiment)

Today I have a lot to do – since I will be out of work mode for the next two days, I need to wrap up all tasks and give instructions to the team. So, as usual, I woke up very early, went for a run, and started planning my day.

I spent a whole hour writing a big post about my relationship with Tristan. I laid out the entire story from the very beginning – from our chance meeting to London, the separation, and the guy from Tinder who gave me the worst date and, in doing so, brought me closer to the man of my dreams. It turned out that girls not only love stories about self-discipline and achieving goals but also a bit of sappy love adventures.

There were many more people at the gym than usual. So instead of resting between exercises, I took photos and chatted with fellow gym-goers. This didn't bother me, but Max was hovering over me, scolding me for resting two to three minutes instead of one.

The team meeting turned out to be long, and afterward, I rushed to quickly grab a bite to eat and wait for clients for consultations. Together with the curators, we discussed the questions that participants in my course often had, technical issues, and ways to resolve them, as well as work for tomorrow and the day after.

In the evening, I packed my suitcase and chatted with friends. Lilia, as always, volunteered to take care of Richard and spend time with him while we are away. And Sveta invited me over – she now lives in the capital – and her job turned out to be not only interesting but also well-paid.

Without any hesitation, I lay down on the sofa to rest for a bit. And when I opened my eyes, I saw Tristan carefully carrying me to the bed and tucking me in with a blanket. I fell asleep without even realizing it.

(Day 118/122 of the experiment)

The day started very early because we decided to go to Nashville – a city that enchanted me from the very first visit. Moreover, the distance to all the major big cities is almost the same, and tomorrow we can easily go for my little one.

I love trips for the internal anticipation of some kind of celebration. The morning on the road must start with coffee at a gas station. Coffee and something very tasty yet not very healthy – it's like a mini-vacation after all.

On the way to Nashville, we listened to foreign music and talked a lot. We discussed everything we didn't have the energy for in the evening. We even touched on the topic of children – when and how many we want. Then Tristan shared funny stories from his childhood. Like the time he licked a swing in winter, and to keep his mom from knowing, he ordered Ivan to stay close and read fairy tales aloud. Or the time during university when a teacher mistook him for a younger colleague and brought him into the lecture hall to teach a class. And I, in turn, told a story about how I bit a piece of Sofia's birthday cake while her grandmother was curling her hair.

Three hours flew by like one, and we were already in Nashville. Maybe someday we will move here? Who knows.

This time, the hotel simply amazed me. Our room is decorated in a winter theme – all in white colors, with artificial snow and an ice sculpture. The leisure area is located on the second floor and symbolizes the tip of an iceberg. And from the lobby, there’s an incredible panorama of the city.

After the road, we decided not to waste any time and immediately went for lunch. We decided to walk everywhere to see as much as possible. Tristan invited me to a Georgian restaurant.

After eating khinkali and khachapuri and taking photos in classic Georgian papakhas, my dream man and I strolled to the embankment.

I felt alive – I pushed aside all fears and thoughts about work, curators, the course, and Instagram. I simply enjoyed the company of my beloved husband, strolled, and breathed in the fresh air. We talked about everything in the world, joked, hugged, and confessed our love. And although we currently do not have too much time to spend together due to both of us having work and projects in the initial stages, we decided at least once a month to arrange a day like this when we can disconnect from the whole world and enjoy each other.

After a romantic dinner on the rooftop, we walked through the center, which captivated me with its illumination and beauty, and came to rest.
