Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 614

Ch. 614 / 840 May 06, 2026

Tabitha's POV

"Boom! Boom!"

As the fireworks burst in the sky one after another, the splendid spectacle reminded me of the last grand and beautiful firework display, which was at Kyrian's birthday party. Daphne had spared no expense to hire a professional team to create it.

But I wasn't in the mood to appreciate it back then.

In my memory, the most beautiful fireworks in my life date back to when I was fifteen. John had specially prepared a fireworks evening for me.

Fifteen, an age of carefree innocence. I was like a princess, untouched by any pain, full of longing and fantasy for the future.

John was elegant and gentle, the man who doted on me the most.

I still remember that many guests from the Silver Moon Pack came that day, all there to celebrate for me.

Tucker was lazily lying under the cherry blossom tree, looking up at the fireworks.

John said softly, "If you like it, I will hold it for you every year."

But there was no such fireworks spectacle after that.

I only remember John's death anniversary, but I completely forgot that tomorrow is also my birthday.

Four years ago, I was pregnant and fully expected Derek to arrange everything carefully.

However, he was silent all day.

I was considerate and thought maybe he was busy with the pack's affairs, so I cooked a table of dishes and waited for him to come back quietly.

However, I didn't wait for him but waited for a hot search, which was the news that he had a candlelight dinner with Daphne.

It was the height of summer, but I felt cold through and through.

After that, we went through a series of events like divorce. We had no mood to celebrate my birthday. Over time, we forgot about my birthday.

It was not until I saw the words "Happy Birthday" in the sky that I realized I hadn't celebrated my birthday for four years.

I stood by the sea and quietly watched everything.

This firework feast lasted for half an hour. There was even a drone show.

There was a huge cruise ship in the distance. I guess the birthday person was on it.

After the fireworks disappeared, the world returned to silence, and the only sound in my ears was the roar of the sea.

"Your expression just now was very serious. What were you thinking?" Wilmot asked.

I smiled bitterly, "Nothing. Seeing others celebrating their birthday, I remembered my own birthday."

"Today? Why didn't you say it earlier? I'll order a cake for you now."

"No need, I haven't celebrated my birthday for many years. It's cold by the sea. Let's go back," I said softly.

Wilmot didn't say anything more and pushed me towards the car.

Perhaps because I stayed by the sea for too long, I sneezed as soon as I got in the car. Wilmot quickly adjusted the temperature inside the car.

Back at home, my mood was still low.

The housekeeper was used to going to bed early and turned off the light at eight o'clock.

I went back to the room for a while. Tucker was very smart. He always accompanied me quietly before going to bed. But every time after I fell asleep, he would sneak to play with Wilmot. Several times, I woke up in the middle of the night and saw Wilmot playing with him.

After I finished washing, I lay down calmly. Before going to bed, I opened X and searched for Derek's news.

His latest post was about going to Africa to help with disaster relief.

I turned off my phone. Since my own death, he seemed to have changed into another person.

As the successor of the Greenwood family, he now had no heart to manage the family affairs and run around in donations, public welfare, and charity activities.

'Does he think that by doing so, I can come back to life?'

'Or is it just to comfort his guilty heart?'

I had no enthusiasm for this and didn't want to explore it.

I and he were finally in the past.

I turned off the light and prepared to go to sleep. Long-term insomnia had made me form a habit.

I looked at the scenery outside the window and silently calculated how long my body needed to recover. I was already eager to go back to Seattle to find my children.

"Knock knock!" At this time, a knock came.
