Chapter 119 Apparently, you
Rachel's POV
I laughed again scornfully at the female officer whose face crumbled together after what I said.
I was just making my case worse, and I knew it, but I was just too frustrated to give two shits about what was going to happen.
" It really hurts, doesn't it? When you're treated like that, you must feel..."
The sharp ringing sound in my ears made it impossible for me to complete my statement.
My face flew to the other side and I coughed out blood.
"Just how strong do you think you are huh?" The female officer shouted, her voice showing anger.
She's angry? I was the one who was beaten up here. If there was anybody that ought to be angry it was me!
" I'm going to teach you a lesson you will never forget. " She said in a sinister voice as she resumed tying my hands and feet on the chair.
I couldn't even struggle to remove them. They were too tight and I was too weak.
My entire body wanted to collapse.
" All you fucking rich brats think you can just do anything you want and get away with it right? To think a pretty thing like you would commit murder".
Despite how weak I was I still managed to snort.
" I didn't commit murder, and I sure as hell don't have to explain myself to you". I coughed again, the red liquid trickling down my lips and I shifted my face to the side.
" I would hate to ruin your pretty features but... "
" I get it ". I interrupted her threats. " I understand, you want to hurt me. Why not just get on with it already? I doubt I have that much time to live anyways. Do you always bore your victims to death before you start torturing them? "
I was really testing the limit here.
The woman clenched her fist even tighter and gritted her teeth.
But seriously, if she didn't want to be disrespected, why did she choose to work in a prison cell? As a jail warder?
That job name already screams disrespect.
From the corner of my eyes, I saw the woman raise her hand high up, probably to slap me again; this time, it was even worse because she was holding the pliers.
My jaw would break, and my face would be completely disfigured once that instrument landed on it.
I shut my eyes tightly, preparing to feel the sharp pain of my facial muscles breaking and then probably fainting out of pain.
'So this was how I was going to die? ' I thought as I waited for the slap that would send me to my grave.
The door just suddenly barged and banged open, and three people, two men and a woman hurried in.
" Officer Kled! What the hell are you doing?" The woman shouted as she rushed towards me.
Officer Kled? So that was her name?
Her shocked eyes met mine and I smirked.
I had no idea who these other people were, what they wanted to do with me, or why they were saving me from their college, but the smirk I gave her made it seem like I did.
"Ma. I..." She sluttered. She dropped the pliers she was holding sharply on the floor before looking at the other two men, who were now inside the room.
"Holy fuck, you've beaten her up?" My savior policewoman said as she checked my face.
You don't even need lights to know that I was badly beaten up.
She looked away from me before pointing to the officer on her left. " Officer Jude, take Officer Kled to the chief, " The guy stood at attention and gave her a salute before dragging the now kneeling Officer Kled up and out of the room.
"While you," She pointed at the other one. "Help me untie her. "
The second one, just like the first threw the woman a salute and bent down to untie the very right ropes around my hands.
"Can you stand?" The woman asked after my wrists had been freed.
I massaged my hands, feeling a slight pain in my wrists as I did.
Damn, that woman knew how to tie.
I couldn't even budge the rope not to talk of escape myself.
"Hey, can you stand?" I heard the policewoman ask again, and this time, I nodded. My head felt fuzzy, but I was determined not to act weak
Holding the handle of the chair, I stood on my feet but I was immediately struck with dizziness.
My head started spinning and I began to see double. Before I knew it, I was no longer standing.
"Oh no, catch her!" I heard the policewoman exclaim before I completely succumbed to the cold hands of darkness.
I had gotten used to it already so I knew how it was.
...
I squinted shaking my head softly as I awoke to the sound of soft background noises. I opened my eyes but immediately shut them back because of how bright it was.
After three more trials, my eyes finally adjusted to the light and I was able to see properly.
" Where the hell am I ?"
I looked around the room I was in, that was if it could be called that.
It was a hospital; at least, that was what I thought it looked like. There were a few hospital beds, and my hand was connected to an IV tube, so it had to be a hospital.
But who would go to a hospital this small and... Well, poor?
' Apparently, you '. My subconscious whispered and I rolled my eyes.
"Oh, you're awake.x
A familiar yet unfamiliar voice said from behind me, and I turned around to take a lot.
My eyes widened in shock as the beautiful lady in a white coat face came into view.
" Hi Rachel". She said with a radiant smile walking towards me.
I blinked still looking surprised.
It was the same doctor that had treated me back then in Ethan's house, Joyce.
What surprised me the most was that she was here, in a hospital like this.
" Are you alright?" She asked and I just blinked in response.
" Seriously Rachel, you have to help me out here. I know you're surprised to see me but hey, let's focus on your health and we'll talk about the other matters later "
I nodded agreeing to everything she said, even though I didn't understand some parts.
" My head is still dizzy, and my stomach hurts ". I said after a while lying back down on the bed.
It didn't take me long to remember how I got here and everything that had happened in the last twenty-four hours.
Marina betrayed me and I was beaten up by an angry wader who was angry at Marina. How ironic.
"What about your face?" She asked jokingly, and I laughed, as much as my beaten-up face could allow me to, though.
"I don't think I need to tell you that, you can see it for yourself. "
"It would be impossible for you not to have a headache considering how..." I could tell she wanted to say something bad, yet sincere but she changed her words. "Not so great it's looking now."
"The impossible thing is for the face to look great after how many times it got slapped. Tell me the truth, how bad is it from one to ten?" I asked and she shook her head almost immediately.
"Don't ask me that. I'm a doctor but I don't lie. "
I could tell what she meant by that. It only meant that I looked terrible.
That damn warder did a number on me, and I could tell even without looking at the mirror.
Doctors were meant to lie to ease the patient about their true conditions, but she wasn't like that, and I could testify to it.
Damn that witch!
