Chapter 134 That was Ethan's child
Rachel's POV
"And what's that?" Marina asked looking confused.
I took in a deep breath shutting my eyes.
I had thought that I wouldn't have to tell anyone about this, but seeing Marina here, acting so... Marinaish... I just couldn't help it.
"I want to tell you the truth about what really happened the night Lana was killed," I said with a grim expression, and Marina's eyes almost popped out of her head in shock.
"What the fuck?"
...
THE NIGHT LANA WAS KILLED
Rachel's POV
"That fucking crazy bitch!" I cursed constantly hitting the steering wheel of my car.
Lana was a bastard, and all she did was to get on my nerves.
It was getting sickening and I was getting tired and frustrated about it.
"Just you wait and see bitch..." Just as I said that I sighed. Lana's car left the mansion, and I smirked.
There was no way I was losing her now.
I started my car and followed hers all the way to the... Mall?
Really?
After everything she just said to me she went to a freaking mall?! To do what?
Shop with joy?
Yay, Rachel is mad. I need to buy myself a treat.
I clenched my jaw staring at the mall in anger.
Why I was here, still battling with the fact that Ethan not only betrayed me, betrayed me for her, while she enjoyed herself going to shop?
And what Lana said earlier rubbing her belly
'Don't worry, I'll take care of Ethan... And everything else'
She literally just implied that there was a life growing inside her belly and that baby belonged to Ethan.
Could it be that I was right all along and Ethan has been playing me from the get go?
Maybe he and Lana planned all of these, from me meeting him at the bridge, to him agreeing to help me, all of it just to mess with me.
She was Lana, I couldn't put it past her, but Ethan?
My eyes watered as I stared without blinking at the mall.
Lana was right in there.
I could just follow her quietly with a mask and beat the shit out of her so she would lose the damn baby, Ethan's baby.
But no matter how hard I tried to look away and get out of the car I just couldn't.
' You're not that kind of person Rachel ' the voice at the back of my mind whispered and inwardly scoffed.
No. I was that kind of person.
I was exactly that kind of person.
I believed in revenge and justice more than anything and I wanted to bad for Lana to face her karma right now, but why can't I do it.
Before I knew it, tears began rolling from my eyes and I finally blinked. A sharp pain came from my eyes as a result of not blinking for that long.
This was not fair.
As much as I hated to admit it, I knew why I was hesitating.
It was Ethan's child.
I wanted to get rid of the baby in Lana's womb because it was Ethan's child, but I also couldn't do it because it was Ethan's child.
Lana had no right not get pregnant for Ethan.
But yet the child was innocent of it's mother's crimes, I couldn't just end it's life because of it.
"Why!" I cried hitting my head on the steering.
I couldn't do what I planned anymore.
My conscience wouldn't just allow it.
"Lana I swear you're going to meet your karma one day, I promise". I swore wiping my tears away from my eyes before starting the car and zooming off.
It was already getting late, daylight was starting to disappear and there were not much street lights on the road which I was taking, but I didn't care.
The truth was that my mind wasn't even in the car I was driving.
I just missed the chance I had to kill Lana's baby because I couldn't do it.
"Dargh!" I took another turn in anger.
It was frustrating and well as annoying, but I couldn't help but feel sad.
" See what you want to turn me too Lana? A fucking murderer ". The last word has just come out of my lips when suddenly heard a loud cry sound and a loud sound like as if I crashed into something, or something crashed into me.
I gulped as my heart beat spiked in panic.
"What the fuck was that?" I asked myself softly as I got out of the car.
"Fuck!"
It was a freaking deer!
What was a deer doing on a road, in New York at this time of the night?
I shook my head getting myself together before rushing towards the animal to check it out.
It was breathing very weakly, there was impossible to even imagine the animal surviving the night in the state it was in.
"Shit. How did I get myself into this mess?" I asked as tears rolled down from my eyes again.
I couldn't just leave the darn animal on the road like that, but what would I do with it?
I brushed my hair back in frustration as I stared at the animal. "Of all the cars in this darn road, you picked to kill yourself on mine?"
I asked before noticing two things.
One, there was no other car on the road apart from mine, and two I crashed into it and not the other way around.
But what was I too do now?
After much contemplation and deep breaths, I decded to just hid the damn thing. It was an animal nobody would care.
I looked around and then discovered that I had taken a wrong turn somewhere and had ended up in some kind of bushy area.
This was good. I nodded to myself.
I bent down and began dragging the poor thing into the bushes, going deeper and deeper and deeper.
" Fuck... Ouch". I groaned wincing in pain.
My leg has almost gotten caught in a ditch and it sprained a bit.
"Fine them..." I breathed out heavily. " There is a ditch, then off with you". With a loud grunt I dragged the poor animal which thankfully wasn't that heavy, into the ditch.
I had to leap back my car, occasionally wincing anytime my foot touched the ground.
I had just done something I never thought I would do in my life.
Bury an animal.
But could it count as burying? I didn't dig the ditch.
As soon as I got into the car, ny head fell on the steering wheel"Oh Rachel". What was I even doing?
Lana had gotten so much into my head that not only did I think of killing her unborn baby, I actually killed something, well an animal.
Wordlessly, I started the car and drove home.
Lana really wasn't worth all the trouble I has just gone through.
...
"What the hell?" Marina exclaimed in shock as soon as I was done with my story.
"Are you being serious right now?" She asked still in shock and I nodded. "So you're trying to say that, when you told me it was an animal blood, it was an animal's blood?" She asked again sounding overly dramatic and I pursed my lips.
"How many times do I have to say yes? Wait, what were you thinking it was before?" I asked raising my brows.
She couldn't have thought I really killed Lana, did she?
"Well, I thought..." Marina blinked scratching the back of her head with her hands looking nervous. "I don't even know what I thought," she said with expiration after a while." I just didn't believe you would kill an animal ".
I giggled shaking my head" Oh, I didn't believe it too until I buried the poor thing."
