Chapter 112 Have you released

Rachel's POV

What the fuck was he doing here? How did he even... Yeah right, the news.

My face was plastered everywhere in the news, and from what I saw on Marina's phone, it was one of the most trending topics, so Ethan could know... But the question was why was he here?

To condemn me too for the death of his woman?

"Get the fuck out of here. I don't want to see you". I said trying to hide the hurt in my heart.

For fuck sake let him just leave already

" Rachel, calm down; let me explain." I heard Marina say and I snapped my head towards the woman who was advancing towards me.

Explain?

What the hell was she explaining?

" Explain? Marina, what the hell is this? " I turned on her surprised by her words.

She looked towards Ethan before looking back at me, and then I understood.

" You called him? " I stated in a question-like manner before suddenly laughing at a joke only I could hear.

"That's not exactly what happened, Rachel. Hear me out. I was out with Mark when..."

"Mark!"

She was fucking out with Mark?

" Arina, you know what this man did to me, yet you went out with his assistant? Seriously?" I shook my head in disappointment. Just as I said assistant, Mark walked in and I glared at him.

But then I reasoned, why was I glaring at Mark? The guy did nothing wrong.

Ethan was his boss, and he couldn't just rat out on him; this was Marina's fault.

" Rachel that's not it. I only wanted to hear Ethan's side of the story so you wouldn't have to go through that wedding with David..."

"Wedding with David?" Ethan interrupted in a loud voice, his time stating disbelief. " You're going back to your jerk of an ex-husband? "

I just scoffed at his question.

What? Did he think I was going to answer him?

" Look here, Ethan, I owe you no explanation for my actions, so don't butt in my business; I was talking to Marina, who so happens to also be a betrayer". I ended my words looking back at Marina who already had tears in her eyes.

What did she think this was, an opera?

She just went on a date with the assistant of the man who betrayed me, and she said it was because she wanted to hear his side.

" I already fucking told you the whole story, Marina, everything, and yet you went behind my back to see them again".

My heart felt like it was being hurt all over again. " I'm was yet to recover from the fact that I'm in jail and now I find out that, that another person who I trusted the most betrayed me? "

Marina shook her head and another and another tear flowed down from her eyes. Mine was already so red and stingy, but I refused to let it flow down. I refuse to allow myself to be weak in front of all of them.

"Enough with this!" A voice roared, and I turned to see Mark walking towards Marina before holding her in his arms.

"Marina is not a betrayer. Instead, she was just trying to be a good friend."

A good friend? Ha!

I haven't heard anything more funnier today.

" She went out with you and informed Ethan about who she knew was with Lana about my situation, and you don't call that a betrayal? " Then I turned to face Ethan who was still staring at me with disappointment.

His gaze of disappointment was hurting me deeply, but not as much as his betrayal did.

" And you, what are you doing here huh? To also blame me for the death of your heartthrob Lana? Just for your information, I didn't kill that bitch! " I yelled at him and I felt my tears finally falling down from my eyes.

No... Not now tears.

I wanted to be strong for a little more time.

"Rachel, please, you have to hear me out," Marina said with a sniffle giving me a pleading look. Her beautiful face was stained in tears while Mark was beside her trying to comfort her.

She even had a person to comfort her... I laughed at myself realizing how truly alone I was in this.

" Rachel". Ethan called with his deep throaty voice that still made my heart skip a beat.

" I really don't understand what is going on in that brain of yours, but I want us to talk this out; there is no way you're going back to David! "

Wow, wow, wow!

I smirked clapping my hands for him. " Wow Ethan, I never knew you were like this. So you can go on with your life with Lana, but I can't have my boyfriend back? Just what do you think, that you own me now? Is that it? " My tone was incredulous, and the little fluster my heart felt when he called my name had disappeared.

I indeed never knew him.

" That's not..." He groaned in frustration before pushing back his silky black hair from his face, combing it roughly with his hands in the process.

"You know what, I can't do this now. I'll have it for you to be released, and then we'll talk about it. " He stated before turning around to leave the cell.

Have for me to be released? So what could torture me on his own for ' killing ' Lana and his unborn baby?

No way.

" Don't bother Ethan I'm fine where I am". I said and he immediately turned back to face me, his expression showing frustration.

" Where are you at? Rachel, I'm very sure you understand the severity of the crimes being accused on you, right? For fuck sake, let Ethan just get you out of here ". Mark groaned and I turned to face him.

' First of all, who was talking to you? Second... Shut the fuck up. '

Those were the two things I so wanted to say to him but I just gulped them down my throat.

Marina was in love with him, even to the point of betraying me for him, I should at least give him a little respect.

" No, thank you". I politely declined the offer. " Hey, Ms police woman, come take me back to my cell!" I shouted, already done with this conversation.

" Rachel, please, I thought I could help you out alone, but with the way all of you guys are talking about this case, it seems impossible. Why not just let Ethan get you out?" Marina begged and I shut my eyes.

Her tears were finally getting to me, but no Rachel... You can't just let it go.

My eyes opened back, and I stared at Marina calmly.

" I already said I didn't kill Lana..."

"And we believe you, I believe you". She interrupted and I snorted.

"Tell me how I should believe that you believe me when after I told you what went down at City bar you still went behind me to find out? " The hurt I felt escaped and revealed itself in my voice against my will.

I didn't want her to know it hurt; I just wanted her to know she betrayed me.

" This ... It's not the same thing and you know it. " She argued but I was done with conversing with her.

I turned to look at Ethan and I found him staring at me. Despite the pain and how betrayed I felt, my heart still skilled a beat at his gaze.

" I didn't kill your girlfriend and unborn baby, so you don't have to worry. As sick as the justice system of this country is, it wouldn't intentionally blame the innocent, but I can't say the same for Lana. She has a lot of enemies, maybe one of them got fed up with her... And sincerely, I don't care that she's dead, only that I'm being blamed for it. "

The door opened again, and the policewoman came in. She didn't even glance at the other people in the room and only focused her gaze on me. " Let's go; your time is up."

I nodded stretching out my hands and following her out voluntarily. Before leaving I took one last look at the three people in the room.

" I never, ever want to see any of you guys ever again". I said before getting hauled out by the policewoman and back to my cell.
