Triumph Of My Cheating Husband

Chapter 61

Ch. 61 / 196 Sep 18, 2024

"I see you received my mail already." Ryan said immediately after the formal exchange of pleasantries as he gestured towards the seat before him. "Please, do have your seat."

Sheila did have her seat as offered and dropped the document with her on Ryan's desk, adjusting her dress lightly afterward. "Yeah, the mail was received earlier today and I had to reschedule my plans for today, so I would meet with you." She said, slightly pushing the document before him.

Ryan did not let a second slide as he picks up the document immediately. "I suppose your company has it own format for dealing with deals and proposals?" It was supposed to be a plain statement, but it came out as a question -but rhetorical.

"Well, yeah..."She stated simply. "To be on the safe side, I guess."

Ryan nodded curtly, finding her reply more pleasing. "Well then, let's see what you got here in the document. I hope it goes well with me because I might call off this if it doesn't." He said to her, yet to open the files. "I pray it does, because I'll love partnering with your company."

Sheila's heart skipped a bit when he mentioned calling the deal off, really? Well, this was because she knew the document contained something else and not of the same content as of the last proposal.

Sheila did not know the reason behind her boss actions, but she did not have the urge to tell him what's to be expected beforehand, she wants him to find out about it himself. She dreaded his yet to come reaction, seeing how much anger issues he's got-her last encounter with him wasn't as good as she had pictured it at first, but she was glad it ended on a good ground.

What if today turns out the same? That was her thoughts. Or even worse? And what if this doesn't end on a good ground? Then that means their company lose -seeing how much interest her boss has in the Lerman's company, she hoped it all end well, even if it begins on a rough note.

Being a shareholder in the Lerman's company means a lot to her boss and knowing such an opportunity as this doesn't come every day, Sheila also did not want them to lose their only chance with him.

"Yeah, same with our firm -we will so much love to partner with you too." She replied to him, masking up her expression with a small smile.

"Yeah, I know, right..."He mouthed slowly as he opened the document, his attention on it content. Ryan felt he needed to carefully go through it content to avoid any mistakes that might cause a huge effect on him and his company, he couldn't afford to let anything go wrong.

Gradually engrossed in his reading, his face suddenly crumpled into a deep frown, his once calmed face was erupted, breaking into a kind of expression that Sheila failed to pinpoint, but she knew whatever it was, it's not a good one.

He raised his gaze up, his face clouded in annoyance. "-and what is this supposed to mean, Ms. Sheila? Because I don't get it..."He asked in a cold voice, almost thundering. "What is this that I just read, eh?"

Sheila swallowed hard in to nothing, she did not realize she's been holding her breath for quite a while. She was suddenly scared of him, having the kind of anger, unlike anyone she's ever experienced before. How is she supposed to say something in reply, giving to the kind of state she is in at the moment?

Ryan was so enraged, seeing her not replying to him. In sheer anger and out of thoughts, he banged his fist hard on his desk, snapping Sheila out of her trance. "I asked a question, Ms. Sheila, why am I not getting any reply? I demand an answer right away!" He blurted out. "Or is your company trying to play me for a fool, eh?"

She stared back at him, unsure of what to say or how best to reply to calm him down. She imagined what type of man he will be outside business -is he always like this? Is this why he's yet to have a woman to call his own? She imagined it to be the answer because, who would want to be with a man whose anger has enough flames to burn down a building?

"Mr. Ryan..."Sheila begin, finally finding hervoice. "This is a minor misunderstanding that we can sort out in no time, you aren't supposed to be acting up this much."

"Oh, you call this a minor misunderstanding, huh?" He blundered out, his anger still reflecting in her voice. "So, had it been I just signed the document right away without going through it for proper confirmation, did you know how much this would have cost myself and that of the company -my employees inclusive?"

Sheila realized how much she was at fault for not briefing him beforehand. She sighed deeply, this won't definitely go well with her boss if she finds out about it.

"I have no words to justify this, but all I have to say is I'm sorry -for whatever misunderstanding and inconvenience this might have caused a while ago." She uttered in a remorse filled tone. "Would you mind if I give a spotlight on this -I should have done this a while ago?"

Ryan breathed in, trying to calm his raging nerves down -his anger had gone beyond limit this time, but on the other hand, he was glad. He felt like he just let go of an emotion he's been bottling up with in him for a couple of months, if not years.

"Fine, go on..."He uttered like he was no more interested in whatever thing she had to say -what he read a while ago had an effect on his trust in them.

Sheila cleared her throat lightly before speaking. "My boss suddenly decided it'll only be profitable for both parties if she buys more percentage than she stated previous -sixty-five percent instead of the previous fifty-five percent she proposed before."

What's profitable in it? She's buying far more than half of his company, and she called this profitable? To both parties? Or to herself alone?

"This is absurd, why would she want to..."

Sheila was too impatient as she cut him off abruptly. "This time, she isn't proposing a pay price, but instead, she's giving you the opportunity to do so yourself." She explained in addition. "Name your price, Mr. Ryan, even if it twice the one she was willing to pay beforehand, she will definitely pay it."

This is too much for facing too much problems at a time, if not, why would he want to get himself involved in such a scandal as this? She's ready to pay twice her previously mentioned pay price for her new proposal?

Of course, why won't she? If he did let her have her way, that only means one thing -she'll be the new CEO of the Lerman's company. Does this actually worth it? Giving up his company just to get himself out of all the hardship he's been facing recently.

Does it...?
