Triumph Of My Cheating Husband

Chapter 55

Ch. 55 / 196 Sep 18, 2024

They both watched Sheila leave in silence and after a few minutes, Ryan stood up from his seat and walked over to the office's window with his hands intertwined behind him. He stood by the window, staring outside, his gaze was on the vast parking lots.

He silently watched Sheila walked majestically towards the red kia amongst the rest of the cars, hopped in and drove away and out of the company's premises, the tires screeching for a few seconds against the tiled floors.

"She seems like an interesting Lady to me." He began, breaking the awkward silence between them since Sheila had left. "-and she also has good eyes for business, I could say. She is good at negotiations and talking her way out, I like her spirit and aura too."

"Yeah, I know. She seems to be the type with a noticeable presence." Miriam said, admitting to Ryan's observation, her gaze on his back view. "I had thought she's a business owner with the type of aura she possesses, I was surprised she'sjust a personal assistant-eh!"

"She works for a very prestigious company, I see, its surrounding must have built her into that." Ryan added, drawling the word 'build'. "Uh -maybe."

"I was thinking the same, too." Miriam simply stated, nodding her head a few times. Her gaze was directed from Ryan's back view, fixating it on the blue file lying on the table. Ryan felt her gaze was off him and turned towards her direction.

He smiled very lightly at how she stared at the file on the table. He knew -her curiosity must have been at it peak and Ryan could tell she's not only curious but eager to know what was in the file as its content.

He strode towards the desk, picking the file up and opening it once again, his gaze settled on it like he was trying to read it again, to understand what was written in it -but it's far from it.

"The company she works for offered a pay price far more than what I would call a fair price for the percentage share of the company's stock." He said with amusement laced in his voice, continuously opening the pages and barely seeing through some pages.

"What about the first two investors who came earlier than her company?" Miriam uttered, chipping in as she tries to remind him of something she felt he was forgetting. "Did you manage to talk the pay price with them, was the outcome good enough?" "Yeah, I did talk it out with them." He admitted, drawling his words as he dropped the file. "You know what business is like, right? The highest bidder always gets the deal, I intend to give this to the highest bidder amongst the three of them."

With the way, he speaks and how he is expressing his speech, Miriam could tell the thought on his mind -it was already written on his face but still. "-and who is the Lucky one of them?" She requested, picking her words slowly.

"Who else if not the Lady amongst them?" He rhetorically asked, handling the file to her.

"Here, take a look at what is written inside it."

Miriam took the file from her boss and did as requested. She was awestruck, shaking her in denial. "This is too huger than anything beyond my imagination, who pays such a huge amount in a go?" She muttered in questioning.

"Yeah, you see..."Ryan doped out, his face lightening up. "This is just the right person we need for the company to raise back to it stardom, don't you think so, Miriam?"

Her thoughts were different from that of her boss, she wasn't thinking his way this time

-their thoughts were parallel to each other. "I don't find this idea, pleasing, sir." She uttered, politely and avoiding her boss's gaze. "Its..."

Ryan shook his head negatively, interrupting her and cutting her off abruptly. "Don't think negative about this, Miriam." He told her calmly, though sounding like he was passing a silent warning. "At this point, all we need now is positive thoughts to support this with, why would you think your negative thoughts won't affect this?"

Miriam just could not understand why she was having a negative vibe and not the same as her boss. To him, it felt like the moment the company has been expecting has finally come -why is she not feeling it?

Right! She gets it now!

The whole of the escapade looked unreal to her, and that was why she couldn't trust the process yet. Firstly, she had started having a negative vibe when the lady had insisted on making everything about her boss and the company anonymous.

-and now, they want to offer a pay price as thrice their company's set up price? Ryan had issued out forty percent of his company to the interested shareholders and investors, but their price was enough to buy out the company's ninety-five percent share.

"Sir, I mean, don't you see that their pay is far too awkward? Exceeding the set-up price for the shareholding percentage?" Miriam muttered out in a low voice but audible enough to Ryan's hearing.

"Ah! Pfft! -no..."He muffled out in denial. "Did you not read their proposal well? They are offering to have fifty-five percent shareholding rather than the forty percent share we issued/

Eh? They are planning on taking more than half of the whole stock's percentage share, leaving the company with only forty-five percent -and her boss is blindly giving in to this?

'Oh, no!' She exclaimed within herself, dreading the thought of it. 'This can't be good, not at all. Why isn't her boss seeing their hidden motive on this?'

"I could place my bet on any other company, but definitely not on this one that is trying to play the anonymous card." Miriam told him. "I'm starting to think of this as those mafias hide and seek games, boss!"

"Ah, I see." He said simply. "You worry too much, and I understand it that you are looking out for the company's welfare, but this is an excellent idea -there is no hide and seek here. She did say she will make me know whatever I need to know if I'm ready to make a business deal with them. So relax..."

Miriam wouldn't dare say it to him, but she felt like her boss was trying to make a mistake

-a huge one at that. This man before her doesn't seem like the same man she's been working for years now, he is a total different and opposite version of him.

Where is his smart thinking? His awe stricken business idea? Where is that same boss of her that holds all the fame in the business field where other business owners can't hold a candle to him? Where is...where is...?

In as much as she dread the idea, she could only hope her boss isn't blinded by the company's present predicament to make a very awful idea that would entirely ruin the company later in the future -if not himself too...
