Ciara stood in front of her uncle, wearing a stern look on her face. With his past behavior and relationship with his brothers, she was aware he was a stubborn man, but she wasn't going to let that stop her from getting the answers she needed -she needed to make him spit all of their hideous plans with his mouth.
It's more like a confession but in Ferdinand's place, he's been pressed.
Ciara cleared her throat thrice, but that doesn't make her gaze softer. "Uncle Ferdinand, I need you to cooperate with me." She said firmly, her gaze fixated on her uncle. "I have some important questions for you, and I need you to answer them honestly and completely."
Ferdinand remained silent like he had never uttered a word in his whole life, his jaw clenched tight. He was clearly trying to be defiant despite the disturbing fear he's having with in, but Ciara was determined to get through to him.
"Uncle Ferdinand, I understand that this is difficult for you." Ciara said, softening her tone a bit-she's determined to use a different method to get to him. "But I need you to understand that this is important. If you cooperate with me, I can promise you that I'll do everything in my power to help you."
Still, Ferdinand did not respond, his eyes fixed straight ahead as he totally avoided Ciara's eyes. Ciara took a deep breath in, and then began her line of questioning -she is only taking slow with him because he is an aged man, but he's bent on pushing her to her limit.
If only he is way younger than he is...
"Uncle Ferdinand, I need to know how you got involved with the criminal organization that you've been working with." Ciara said, her voice calm but firm. "How can you guys be so cruel and badly want to end my life?"
Ciara had decided with in herself and had named her uncle's secret meeting as a criminal organization since they had committed atrocities meant for dangerous and men with dark secrets.
"I promise you that I don't know what you are talking about." He muttered, his teeth clenched tightly in annoyance. "What sort of stupid allegation is this, Ciara? Why would I ever want my niece dead -and you are even insisting that I want to end you myself?"
Uncle Ferdi...
Ferdinand was quick to cut her off, giving her no chance to complete her statement. "Cut the case, Ciara, I'll never do such a thing. Trust me!" He told her, completing his words.
"I'm sorry, but I can't accept that as a response." Ciara said, her tone hardening once more and at the verge of rising to its peak. "You need to understand that I'm not going to give up until I get the answers I need. Ifyou don't cooperate with me voluntarily, then I'll have to take other measures."
Now, it was not only Ciara who seemed angry, even Ferdinand was too -he hated the fact that she kept forcing words in his mouth.
"You don't scare me, girl!" Ferdinand spat, his eyes narrowing. "You can threaten me all you want, but I'm not going to talk."
Ciara kept her composure, refusing to rise to his bait, and glanced over her shoulder, gesturing for Gerald to come closer. "Bring me a pail of water, please." She lilted, her voice low and steady.
Gerald nodded curtly in response and disappeared from the room, returning a moment later with a metal pail full of water. He placed it on the ground in front of Ciara, who remained focused on her uncle.
"You see this?" Ciara said, motioning towards the pail. "This is your last chance to cooperate. I'm not going to ask you again -answer my questions, or I'll use this pail of water to help convince you."
Ferdinand remained resolute, his face set in a stony expression. He seemed completely unfazed by Ciara's threat, his eyes locked on hers as if daring her to follow through. Ciara hesitated for a moment, and then gave a slight nod to Gerald.
Gerald reached behind the chair and pulled out a small, portable electrical device, its wires trailing from it like tendrils. He held it in his hand, and the intent much too clear.
"You're making a mistake," Ferdinand said, his supposed hard voice wavering slightly. "I'm warning you -if you do this, there will be consequences for your action, Ciara."
Ciara merely shrugged, the picture of calm despite the gravity of the situation. "I'm afraid I'm not going to be swayed by your empty threats." She told him, her voice still hard despite her calm expression. "You've left me with no other choice." She turned to Gerald. "Do it."
Gerald nodded, and then placed the electrodes of the device on Ferdinand's wrists after he had wet his whole body with the water he brought earlier. Ferdinand let out a cry of protest, but it was too late. The electricity surged through him, and he writhed in agony and pure pain.
"Stop!" he yelled, his voice hoarse. "Please, stop!"
"Are you ready to talk now?" Ciara asked, her voice emotionless. "Or do you need more convincing?"
"I don't know what you're talking about!" Ferdinand protested, his voice cracking. "I don't have any information for you! I'm telling the truth!"
Ciara looked at him skeptically, her gaze hard. "I'm sorry, but I don't believe you." She said. "You're going to have to do better than that."
"I told you; I have nothing to say -why are you being irrational?" Ferdinand yelled, not bothered by the consequence of his reaction.
Gerald's face flushed with anger, his muscles tensing as he raised a fist. But before he could act, Ciara put a hand on his arm, her eyes pleading. "No, don't!" She enunciated. "He's much older than you, and it would be wrong to hit him."
Gerald hesitated, his fist still raised. He glared at Ferdinand, who cowered in his chair.
Finally, Gerald lowered his fist and took a deep breath, his shoulders relaxing.
With a firm grip, Ciara took the device from Gerald's hand and turned back to Ferdinand.
"You have one more chance to tell me what I want to know." She lilted, her voice cold and hard. "Otherwise, I'll have no choice but to use this again."
She had the intention of making him writhed in so much agony that would make him blame his existence and put him in the position where he would wish for death instead, but death will be faraway from him.
Ferdinand's eyes widened in terror, his hands trembling as he gripped the armrests of the chair. "Please, no!" he begged, his voice shaking. "I'll tell you what you want to know, just please don't do that again."
As Ferdinand was about to speak, a sudden ringtone cut through the air. Gerald's eyes widened as he realized the phone was on him, which he'd left in his pocket. He scrambled to silence it, but it was too late. The damage was done.
He reached out for the phone, and it turned out to be Ferdinand's. As Gerald stared at the caller, his eyes widened slightly in realization, but his expression was quick to change to a lopsided smirk.
Ciara turned to Gerald, her eyes narrowed. "Who is that?" She asked, her voice low and dangerous.
"It's Brandon." Gerald's voice was blank and lacked emotions. "Another uncle of yours, ma'am..."
