Triumph Of My Cheating Husband

Chapter 71

Ch. 71 / 196 Sep 18, 2024

Ciara thought for a while about what Gerald had just said to her, and she realized he was right about his statement, every part of it was holding the hard truth. She is not supposed to keep playing the hide and seek game with her cunning uncles when she has every chance for her to take the lead now; she can't allow them win the race against her.

If she keeps waiting to know where next they might approach her, it might be too late before she realized it -maybe after she's badly hit, and it might not only be her but her brother or possibly Herzl himself. Or worst still, the trio might be attacked and Ciara knows how dangerous it is if she keeps waiting.

The previous night, she had thought about the hideous things she will do to them and how much pain she was going to inflate on them -she was still doubting her thoughts, knowing that she wasn't a violence person. The thought that her uncles did not think it twice before murdering her parents made her settle for her injustice plan; she will be paying them with the same coins, if not more!

After minutes of thorough thinking and doubts in her decisions, she finally decided to announce her plan to Gerald. "Before today runs out, have Ferdinand kidnapped..."She sails to him in the most icy tone she could muster, her soft expression that was mixed with confusion was suddenly replaced by a hard expression.

Gerald almost choked on his breath."What...?!" He felt he heard her wrong. "I'm so sorry to have heard you wrong, but what did you just say, ma'am?"

Ciara's expression did not soften, not even a bit. "You heard me right, Gerald!" She muttered, almost snorting at him. "Have Ferdinand abducted before today runs out, I'll text you on where to bring him."

This had been Gerald's idea from the start after learning the truth about her uncles, but he was afraid she might not accept the idea since she never for once, entertained violence, so, he decided to keep it to himself.

-hearing this from her was enough to zap the life out of him, it was too sudden, and he did not expect her to think about something of sort too soon. To him, it was the best thought for her, and this only means she's changed from being soft and has decided to take the bull by its horn.

"I'm sure you have so many plans in store for Ferdinand, right?" He asked, scratching the bridge of his nose gently. His eyes met with Ciara's, who gave him a questioning expression. "What I mean is; you aren't supposed to go soft on him, though, he looks like the story villain himself. I still can't believe you let those men live until this day, ma'am, you've shown them too much mercy."

"I know, right?" She mouthed with a shallow sigh. "Uncle Kent knows much of these, and it would have been easier to have him in custody instead, but he's bedridden at the moment. From what I learned, Ferdinand was the one to hold still after Kent."

"And what about the other guy who completed the crew? Did you know anything about him?" Gerald asked, picking interest in her quick description. He wanted to know how grave each of their crimes are and draft out what punishment suit each of them perfectly.

"I don't know much about uncle Brandon like I do with Ferdinand and Kent." She replied with a mixed reaction of honesty and regret. "But I can't bring myself to trust him, who knows if he's the worst amongst the three of them?"

"Yeah, I agree with you." Gerald said with a positive nod. "Those men are too cunning to be trusted, it'll be a huge mistake on your part if you do."

"I ain't that daft, you know." She said with a loud scoff, deciding to change the topic to their initial plan. "Let's draft how we can perfectly carry out our plan without mistakes or getting anyone suspicious."

"Yes, that's right..."He uttered as he vacates his position. He strode towards Ciara, taking his seat on the couch opposite Ciara's. "Where do we start from, ma'am...?"

"I think this is a good plan for a start, right?" Ciara asked, drawling her question and expecting a positive response from Gerald. "You can as well tell me if it's not good enough as a plan, it can be changed to something much better. So tell me, what do you think?"

"Hmm..."Gerald hummed slowly as he appeared like he's battling with his thoughts. "Well, to me, I can say this is good as thought. It doesn't matter where I get him, it's only important if he's apprehended without any traces or suspicions."

"Right!" She nodded curtly in affirmation.

"How do you intend to make them spit the truth?" He asked after a couple of seconds of silence. "-and your brother too? You did not intend to leave him in the dark and carry all of this right under his nose without him knowing, or do you?"

"For them to spit out all the skeletons they have in their cupboards, I'll leave that to you. You can handle that, right?" She uttered, and Gerald was quick to nod, excited about being permitted to take laws in his hands. "And Dwayne, it's only a matter of time until he learned the whole truth -he'll, soon enough."

"Oh, I see..."Gerald cited simply, mouthing the words. "...you are planning on getting your hand on the whole truth about every of their hidden affairs first before involving him in this. It's as good as any other plan as earlier."

"True! If I should tell him without having anything to hold on to, he might think it as a mere bluff -he wouldn't even have himself to doubt the trust he has in uncle Kent." Ciara told him. "Dwayne is the type who trusts blindly."

Gerald did not know how the best way to reply, instead, he decided on changing the topic. "I thinkwe've had enough talk already, Ms. Fellers." He drawled his words. "It's only right if I jump to actions now -the earlier always turns out to be the better."

"Yeah, please do!" She muttered out positively in response as she checked her wristwatch, her brows slightly creased. "We should get to action as soon as we can, the day is running out faster than expected."

Gerald quickly stood up to his feet and without saying anything, he was already walking towards the exit. Ciara's voice suddenly came up, stopping him in his track. "I'll be waiting for you in the decided location. Please be careful, Gerald." She told him cautiously.

"This isn't my first time of doing this, ma'am -don't worry about me, but I promise that I'll be carefuL." He said with a quick pause. "...just for you, Ms. Fellers..."
