Ciara's staff had called her attention to a company putting a notification up in a newspaper for the interest of shareholders and investors for itself.
Since the past few months, Ciara's main interest aside the goals she set, aside for her company, was being a shareholder in order company who are willingly giving part of their company up for this -and the staff, having seen a related article, decided to call her boss's, Ciara, attention to it.
Ciara opened to the mentioned page and had barely spent a few seconds on it, her facial expression crackled as it dropped to its least, her brows were creased with astonishment as well as curiosity.
She was balled over as she found it hard to believe her eyes and felt like she was the one seeing things. What she saw on the page was enough to throw her off guard -it's far more than what she had expected.
"Okay. This can't be true." She muttered to herself, shaking her head like she was trying to wade off illusion from her head. "This definitely isn't for real."
Gerald, seeing Ciara's look of disbelief, took instant interest in whatever article she might be reading. "Oh, what's in there?" He muttered, not leaving his standing spot, his back still rested on the wall.
Maybe Ciara decided not to reply to him or did not hear the question he asked -still, her focus was on the paper with her.
"It can't be the same Ryan of all people, why would he need shareholders and investors for his company out of the blues?" Ciara couldn't help but wondered aloud in astonishment, unknowingly giving an answer to Gerald's curiosity.
"Maybe he's in need of a huge sum of money for a business deal, who knows?" Gerald butted in once more, as he always does with Ciara. "You know, these young successful businessmen and the urge for more money. Yeah?"
'Well -could be...' Ciara thought to herself, possibly Gerald was right! She told herself as she tried to shrug the thought off-but on second thought, this might be way far from the truth.
"Or perhaps not..." She lilted quietly and almost inaudibly to herself.
Ryan, of all people, is not the type to pursue after money to the extent of putting part of his company up for it; definitely not on his mother's watch.
Mrs. Lerman doesn't seem like the type whojokes with the family's company, she'll rather indulge in bad acts than have anything happen to the company -Ciara knows her to be that kind of person.
"...it is the family heirloom, you look after it with deep care..." Ciara had heard her say this to her son on multiple occasions after she managed to make him the next heir -this was to sound as a reminder to Ryan, that was Ciara's guess.
And for Ryan to come up with such an idea, then something must have been off with him; notjust anything, but it must have been really hard on him to have knocked him off.
"His mother would never have allowed him to engage in such, and besides, she's stunningly rich enough to give her son whatever amount he might be yearning for." Ciara finally blurted out after numerous thoughts in her head. "The Lerman's aren't the type of family to mess with when it comes to money and fame."
Then, what would have been the reason for Ryan to need a shareholder in his company? This was enough question to make the two grown up strain their brains for a concrete answer, but were unable to get one.
"Still under probability; he mightjust want the company off his neck, but not ready to give it up completely." Gerald said with a slight shoulder shrug, his face was blankwith no emotion.
He saw the look in Ciara's eyes, she seemed not to be satisfied with his conclusion; Gerald was quick enough to take back his words.
"I did say under probability, I never made it the fact." He muttered, drawling his words. "Aren't we in the same shoes? We both don't know the reasons for his action, so, we can only come up with nothing but assumptions."
Well, yeah. Gerald is right, they can only assume. But what if he is right? The few months she spent with the Lerman, she had managed to read them real well -mostly Ryan himself.
To her, he doesn't seem like the type who is ready to listen to his mother's words and ideas except, of course, when he's threatened. He reluctantly did most things he's ordered to do, only when she uses things precious to him to make threats.
Maybe, or possibly not, he decided to throw his mother's warning in to the wind because she has nothing to threaten him with? She mostly uses the company on him, and it's the same company he's about giving out part of it for shareholding -this was enough to raise Ciara's curiosity and interest.
Something must have gone wrong and fishy amongst the Lerman's, and Ciara felt she need not be left out of it -she was once a part of them, right! What if this wasn't Ryan's doing to start with?
He must, she was sure, have gotten married to that same lady he was cheating on her with. What if she's included in this too?
The more she tried to solve the puzzle, the more she realized there was more to it. She hated to be unsure of things and to only come up with assumptions.
"I need you to do something for me, Gerald." She blurted out sharply, snapping him off his own personal thoughts. "It should be done urgently, maybe, but it should be delivered before Monday's afternoon."
"What is it you want me to do?" His voice was firm, and he had his stoic expression on him, still lazily resting on the wall.
"I need every information and updates on the Lerman's family -mostly Ryan himself." She told him authoritatively. "As usual, don't lag behind on this or leave a stone unturned; I need every information you may have gathered on him-"
Ciara hoped none of her assumptions were right about the Lerman's as she wants something much worse for them...
