Triumph Of My Cheating Husband

Chapter 45

Ch. 45 / 196 Sep 18, 2024

Ryan could barely sleep throughout the night as he was eager for the day to break, he seemed to be in a haste for something bothering him hard -he was restless and could barely wait for whatever was bothering him to be solved.

Immediately he realized it was dawn, he hastily did his morning routine and was ready for work without breakfast -he'll be lucky to have a bite or two before lunch. Ever since Anne had left him, he barely had breakfast and most times, he had to be on an empty stomach until lunch.

Though reluctantly and wasn't in the mood to go anywhere for the day, even with his anxious self, he still has the mixed feeling of staying back home. But on the other hand, he needed to get to the office.

"I don't think we will go ahead with the idea of taking a loan from the bank anymore." Ryan told Miriam with a straight face that was holding no expression.

Miriam was astonished, why did he change plan all of a sudden? Not when the company had concluded that they were going to get a loan from the bank for the company's new project and incoming proposal.

Of lately, the company has been witnessing one calamity or another, causing the company to fall without the hope of rising unless if care is taken.

But now, her boss seems not to be interested in the loan anymore, what would be the fate of the company then if they fail to provide enough capitals to fund the proposals and projects?

"This is the only hope for our company to keep existing, sir." Miriam said, getting over her surprise. "We have no other option if we refuse to opt for the loan."

"I have my reasons for saying this, Miriam." Ryan replied, his usual bossy attitude finding its way through. "I have already borrowed a lot of money from the bank that I am still yet to pay them -no capital, but we've managed to go bankruptcy. I would rather not borrow again from them when I am uncertain if I would ever get to pay them; and if I don't pay, they will surely come for the company itself."

Miriam finds herself lost, unsure of what to say. This was the least she had expected to happen to the company since her years of working as one of its staff.

Over the years, she has witnessed it excel and become the envy of other companies, but then, all of a sudden, it started collapsing from within. She wonders what could have possibly gone wrong with them, whatever it is, she finds it too complex to lay quite a finger on it.

"What are you now suggesting, since you did not want to take a loan anymore?" Miriam questioned, finding her voice after seconds of dead silenced. "There should be a way out of this since you decided not to lend the loan again." "I've discussed this with my mother and I decided to let you know as the director of board." Ryan paused, allowing his first sentences to sink into Miriam's head before he proceeded.

"Since there is no way forthis company to stand unless we do something about it, I am thinking if I can get a shareholder and investors -that way, I wouldn't bother about loans and the bank taking over the company."

Did Miriam just hear her boss mention a shareholder? Why would he ever opt for that? In one way or the other, Miriam could not fathom why she did not see to be contented with her boss's idea. It wasn't clear to her why she felt odd about getting a shareholder for the company, what if this turned out to be bad as well?

"I'm concerned about the company's welfare..."

Ryan said in continuation, this made Miriam, who had been lost in her own world, suddenly jolt back to reality, facing her boss.

"You were saying something, sir..."Miriam uttered, slowly.

"Were you not listening to me?" Ryan questioned, sounding a bit offensive. "What are you thinking of?"

"I'm sorry, sir." Miriam quickly muttered in apology. "I really am."

Ryan, see no reason why he should be angry with her, since they are both here to finalize about the company's welfare and nothing more -she might be having her share of thoughts on it.

"You were saying something, Sir..."Miriam repeated, hoping to ease her boss anger, even if it's a bit.

"Ah -yeah..."Ryan agreed, nodding his head curtly. "Its about the company's welfare, we can't just sit here without no hope of getting money. How do I pay the staff and the directors? How do I fend for my welfare in inclusion?"

Miriam is aware that her boss is really concerned about the company, and it's already weighing him down of recent-he's almost becoming a shadow of himself.

"Is there no other way out aside these, sir?" She asked, threading her words carefully. "Something that's more preferably and wouldn't weigh neither you nor the company's welfare down?" "That's the option I'm opting for, Miriam." Ryan told her with finality.

Even though she wants to oppose the idea, but then, one other hand, she has to see reason with what he had just said. For him to have come up with, he must have big plans ahead, best known to him alone.

"It is your choice, sir." Miriam uttered with a little shoulder shrug. "What ever decision you make, I am sure it is for the company's betterment. We can only hope that this is the best option."

"I hope so, Miriam." Ryan replied with a sigh. "Because that is the only option I could think of. You know, if I can get a shareholder, it would really help me until I can generate some money, then I can finally buy my shares back from the partner."

"That's really cool, sir." Miriam said as beamed with smiles, suddenly buying her boss's idea. "I think this is the best option that would surely help us out."

Even when Miriam is not that contented with the idea of getting a shareholder, in one way or the other, it seems to be the best option for her too. She could only hope that the company gets back to its fit and becomes a stardom as it always was.

Ryan had been facing a lot of difficulties lately, and she could not help but feel sorry for her boss whom she did not know the cause of his sudden misfortune.

"I hope this works out well, Miriam." Ryan muttered in a low time but audible to Miriam's hearing. "I could only hope this is the best option for us."

His mother had asked him to start making decisions on his own without being under anybody's influence, it sounded like a good idea to him but still, he could hope his mother would keep dictating for him like she always does.

Her decisions seem to always work out as predicted. Ryan would be making his first decision on his own and couldn't help but hope it always works out well as that of his mother's...
