Trapped by Him

Chapter 288

Ch. 286 / 398 Feb 22, 2026

Cline then shifted his gaze from Luana and responded to Dawn with a faint, "Dropping off Luna."

Dawn immediately understood that Cline was here to support his daughter.

He nodded with satisfaction and said, "Thank you. Luna just returned to the States, and here you are, running around for her."

Cline, with an expressionless face, curled the corner of his mouth and replied, "I'm heading back to Moriarty Group now."

Dawn quickly said, "Alright, be careful. Don't let your work be delayed. In a couple of days, I'll bring Luna for a formal visit to the Moriarty mansion."

Cline nodded and walked straight ahead.

The entourage of bodyguards following him immediately split into two teams, closely protecting him on all sides.

As he passed by Luana, he didn't even glance at her, as if she didn't exist, completely ignoring her presence.

Indeed, what Luana had thought was Cline staring at her was just an illusion.

Cline didn't care about her at all. How could he possibly pay special attention to her?

Only after Cline had left did Travis realize that the man was the second son of the Moriarty family.

He quickly released Luana and rushed to greet Cline, but Cline got into his car without looking back, slammed the door shut, and the dozen luxury cars waiting outside started one after another and left.

Travis missed his chance and had no choice but to return to find Luana, only to discover that she had escaped via the guest elevator.

Travis touched his lips where he had kissed Luana earlier, his eyes gleaming with the excitement of a hunter capturing his prey.

"Gary, find out her address," Travis ordered.

Gary Cunningham, who was following behind, immediately responded, "Yes, sir."

Luana returned home, put down her bag, and sat down on the sofa in a daze.

It wasn't until her phone rang that she snapped out of her reverie.

She took out her phone from her bag and saw the number on the screen, frowning slightly. Why would Russell be calling her?

After a moment of hesitation, she swiped the screen to unlock it, "Mr. Woodward, what can I do for you?" she asked.

Russell's respectful voice came through the phone, "Miss Hammond, I noticed you left something behind in the apartment while cleaning. When can you come to pick it up?"

Luana had hoped that Cline wanted to explain something to her, but it turned out she had just left something behind, and her heart sank instantly.

"Mr. Woodward, just throw it away for me," Luana said, then hung up the phone without waiting for his response.

She then deleted all contact information for Russell and Cline.

She had been holding onto the hope that Cline would reach out to her yesterday, which was why she hadn't deleted his contact details.

Now that she knew the truth, she was utterly disheartened.

She turned off her phone and curled up on the sofa, falling into a deep sleep.

She didn't know how long she had slept when a knock on the door woke her from her slumber.

Clarissa had recently been working late shifts and came home late, leaving her key with Luana.

Hearing the knock, she thought it was Clarissa coming home from work and hurried to open the door.

But when she opened it, it wasn't Clarissa standing there—it was Travis.

Seeing his seemingly gentle but sinister face, Luana's face turned pale instantly.

She tried to close the door, but Travis extended his long arm and forcefully pushed the door open.

Luana was startled by his sudden action and retreated several steps.

"What do you want, Mr. Elan?!" Luana shouted in terror.

This pervert had found her home.

Travis saw her fear, like a frightened hare, and found it amusing.

He propped his hands on the door frame, tilted his head, and looked at her, "What are you afraid of? I won't eat you."

His eyes were deep black, with a touch of the gray tone characteristic of mixed-race individuals, and as he stared at her, they radiated a strong, hunter-like excitement.

"Miss Hammond, won't you invite me in?" His tone was seemingly polite, but Luana was terrified.

What kind of person Travis was and what he might do, she was all too aware, and there was no way she would let him in.

She coldly replied, "I'm sorry, this is my friend's house. It's not convenient."

After Luana finished speaking, she tried to close the door, but Travis took a long step forward into the house and closed the door behind him.

Never had Luana wished she was a real werewolf as much as she did at this moment.

She tried to call out in her mind, but she knew, having never shifted, that no response would come, especially not with her terminal illness.

It was even less likely for her to find her wolf.

Still, she fantasized that if her wolf did appear, she would tear the person in front of her to pieces in an instant.

But all she could do was watch as he entered and closed the door.

Luana no longer had a chance to escape, and her expression grew even darker.

"What do you really want, Mr. Elan?"
