After spanking Gloria, Patrick finally felt that his tight nerves loosened completely.
Gloria was pressed against Patrick's thigh with her back facing upwards. She didn't have time to react until she heard the crisp sounds of slaps. Only then did she realize what was happening.
"Stop! Stop it!" Gloria struggled furiously.
Patrick looked at Gloria and the stubborn expression on her face. His suppressed anger was rekindled.
"Do you dare to do that again?" Patrick asked her.
Suddenly, Gloria felt a sense of absurdity. She thought, 'Isn't spanking only for disobedient children?'
"I'm not a kid. What makes you think you can spank me?" She glared at him, questioning him.
"Was I wrong?" His eyebrows were thick, and when he raised one side of his eyebrows, he gave others the impression that he was casual and effortless.
Yet in fact, his heart was beating fast right now. When he saw Gloria's legs hanging in the air, he was utterly frightened.
Gloria still glared at him. "What did I do wrong?"
Meanwhile, there was a knock on the door of the bedroom. "Alpha Patrick, may I come in?"
The two on the bed were startled. Patrick quickly grabbed the quilt beside him, covered the woman on his lap with it, and then replied, "Come in."
Damon pushed the dining cart into the bedroom.
Patrick had entered in a hurry, so the bedroom door was not closed. Damon heard the conversation between the two in the room.
Damon pushed the dining cart to the front of the bed without looking sideways and said, "Alpha Patrick, is there anything else you need?"
Patrick waved his hand. "You may leave and get some rest."
Damon bent respectfully and turned away. However, as he turned, his normally rigid face became ferocious, and his fists hanging on both sides were clenched.
He trembled in anger and thought, 'What the heck is my Gabrielle to you?
When Gabrielle was alive, Alpha Patrick never treated Gabrielle the way he treated that woman.
Gabrielle should be the Luna of the Black Thorn Pack. I will not allow this woman to take Gabrielle's place!
I want Alpha Patrick to remember Gabrielle forever. Everything will work out as long as that woman is dead.'
Damon picked up his phone and dialed the number that he didn't usually contact.
Other than Patrick's number, this was the number he remembered best.
"I want her dead," Damon said eagerly as soon as the call came through.
The person on the other end of the line was stunned when he picked up the phone. Then he chuckled. "Why should I help you?"
"Ellison!" Damon lowered his voice, suppressing his anger. "You don't want Alpha Patrick to know about that thing, do you?"
Damon's eyes were filled with determination and fierce venom, which was completely different from the image he had always shown to the public.
At the other end of the line, Ellison was silent for a while. Then Damon's tightly knitted brows relaxed as he thought, 'Ellison, good, you are smart enough to know that you should be afraid.'
"Damon, has anyone ever told you that you are shameless?" Ellison's mocking voice came over the phone.
Damon clenched his teeth. He was the Beta of the Black Thorn Pack, and hardly anyone dared to be so rude to him.
However, he suppressed his anger and said, "If Gloria dies, it will be good for both you and me. Whatever happened before, it will come to an end after she dies."
Damon's face was utterly ferocious. He thought, 'Who will speak for the dead?'
"Ellison, if that bitch is dead, it'll be good for you, too," Damon said in a tempting voice. A minute ago, he was threatening Ellison, and now he had changed his position thoroughly.
Ellison's ridicule came through the phone. He said, "You've been with the Hammond family so long that you've become as ruthless as they are. Beta Damon, I know what you're thinking."
Ellison had a thumb-sized cigar between his fingers, and he took a leisurely puff. The ash of the cigar burned for a long time, and when he flicked his finger, it fell off to the expensive carpet, but he did not care at all.
"Beta Damon, listen to me carefully. If you want someone to die, think of a way yourself." There was a cold gleam in Ellison's eyes. His chin was a bit like Patrick's, and the corners of his mouth were pressed down. "Don't use Patrick to scare me. No matter how despicable I am, I am still no match for you. Do you really not know how Gabrielle died?"
Damon's hand shook abruptly as he held the phone. He nearly dropped it.
He clutched his phone hard, and his eyes flickered. He pretended to be calm and said, "I know how she died, of course. That bitch is the reason why Gabrielle is dead. Gabrielle was my only sister! She was humiliated and tortured before she died, and that bitch only served three years in prison!"
"Only served three years in prison?" Ellison's voice became strange as he softly repeated Damon's last sentence.
The muscles in Damon's forehead were tensed, and his veins were bulging. "Gabrielle died, and all Gloria paid for was three years in prison. Then she was released. The Moon Goddess goes too easy on her."
"Goes too easy on her?" Ellison's voice was even more strange as he whispered.
He thought, 'If I hadn't seen the footage on those monitors, I wouldn't have known how miserable Gloria was in the werewolf prison.
On the day she was released from prison, I was so curious that I had my driver drive by and saw with my own eyes what Gloria looked like.
When I heard Gloria was at Fittro Club, I paid her a visit especially. I saw with my own eyes a very different Gloria. Unlike three years ago, she didn't strike me as the daughter of Alpha Alger of the Silver Spring Pack at all. Instead, she was a lowly, cowardly rogue without dignity.
If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I might have taken Beta Damon's words for it. I might have taken pity on him and helped him fix the one he believes caused his sister's death.
Was Gabrielle the only one who schemed against Gloria three years ago?
No!
Three years ago, all of them made moves. All of them plotted against Gloria.
Why didn't Patrick look into it? Why couldn't he find anything fishy?
Because it was the work of his own family, the Hammond family!
Back then, Patrick didn't want to look into it at all, because he didn't care if Gloria lived or died.
He was so engrossed in the competitions among the packs that he had no time, energy, or manpower to look into it.
Gloria, who was in prison, meant even less to him when he finally won.
Besides, Gabrielle was the woman Patrick had his eye on back then. Someone had to bear the consequences of the humiliating death of the woman he had taken a fancy to.
Thus, Gloria, who meant nothing to Patrick, became the most miserable one who suffered the most in this tragedy.
But Gabrielle's humiliation and death were the results of a lot of people, including me.
I am wrong about who Patrick really loves, and I underestimate how heartless and cruel Beta Damon can be.'
