Torn Between my Alpha Mates

Chapter 92: A Slap to the Face Part 1

Ch. 92 / 177 Dec 10, 2025

Anika's P.O.V

My fists clenched tightly as anger simmered within me, as I looked at the closed door that Silas had just shut on my face.

How dare he? Who did that Silas think he was?

I stormed into my private chamber, the door slamming shut behind me as well, and paced back and forth with restless energy.

The weight of my plans crumbling in the face of Silas's defiance weighed heavily on me like a thousand-ton brick. To say that I was angry was a huge understatement.

My mind raced, replaying the confrontation with Silas over and over again.

Each replay did nothing but send waves of anger to wash over me, building up like a sky-rise tower in the metropolis.

The memory of his unwavering resolve, his refusal to bow to my will, gnawed at me. But most of all, I felt utterly humiliated by his parting words.

I recalled the day I first heard the whispers of his betrayal. Word travelled fast and I wouldn’t be surprised if other neighboring packs had heard about it as well.

He had been accused of killing his brother's mate, his ex-lover, and fled the pack. Speculations said it was in a fit of rage; that he could no longer see his ex-lover and his brother be happy together. Some said it was an act of revenge, because he thought his brother had taken away his lover from him.

Whatever the case, in that moment, I saw an opportunity to seize control, to mold Silas into a puppet under my command and eventually get a hold of his pack through him by using him to my advantage.

I thought that he would be easy for me to manipulate because he now had nowhere to go, no one to turn to but me.

Yet, now I found myself confronted by his fierce determination, his unwillingness to be tamed.

Instead of being an easy prey, he was now taking over the pack that I had created and nurtured with my own hands.

Damn him!

Well… maybe it was on me for not taking the time to manipulate him. It was my fault for thinking he was easy to brainwash. I should have been more careful and planted the seeds more properly. I should have let it take hold better and grow so he could become my puppet.

But now…I found everything crumbling down right in front of my eyes!

As I seethed with frustration in the privacy of my room, I couldn't help but notice the stark contrast between the perfect, sunny day outside my window and the rage that boiled within me.

The sun's rays bathed the world in warmth and light, casting a golden glow over the serene landscape. Birds chirped cheerfully, and a gentle breeze rustled the leaves of nearby trees.

It was a picture-perfect day, seemingly oblivious to the turmoil I felt inside.

I stood by the window, my hands clenched into tight fists, trying to contain the storm of emotions raging within me.

It felt like the Moon goddess was mocking me. Showing me how my own plans had fallen apart right in front of my eyes, reminding me of my failures.

Damn it. Damn it all!

It felt like I was carrying the weight of the pack on my shoulders, and yet, I couldn't find the control I once had.

I turned away from the window, unable to bear the contrast any longer. The sunshine that streamed through the glass seemed to highlight my anger, casting long shadows across the room.

I knew I had to find a way to regain control, to assert my authority once more, but the sight of the idyllic day outside only fueled my frustration.

Anger and frustration mingle within me, stoking the fires of my ambition.

This pack was my creation, a haven for those rejected and cast aside by other packs. I did this. I brought us all together.

I had dedicated myself to their well-being, to forging a united force against the very world that had shunned them. But now, Silas threatened to usurp my position and unravel the carefully woven tapestry of my ambitions.

How dare he?

"Silas," I muttered through gritted teeth, my voice laced with a steely determination. "You may think you can claim this pack as your own, but I will not be so easily defeated. I built this from the ashes, and I will never go down without a fight."

I wasn't going to let him take everything without putting up a fight. He won't get away with this, I swear.

“So what if I’m your Luna in name only?” I smirked at the blank walls. “A Luna holds equal power as the Alpha. You keep saying that the Alpha pair must always agree and must always confide and must always rule together? But you’re the only ones making decision and my opinion isn’t even of value to my own pack!”

Turning back, I strode to the window once again; my gaze fixed on the pack members who were now patrolling the borders as the sun set in the horizon. My emotions were a tangled mess of frustration and anger.

The sight of Silas leading the training session everyday made me feel both elated and frustrated. Elated because my army was getting stronger, but frustrated because I could see their devotion for Silas growing every single day.

Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath and tried to push away the negative emotions that threatened to consume me.

Memories of the pack's struggles and victories flood my mind, strengthening my resolve.

Just because I gave Silas the right to be called Alpha, didn't mean that he could parade around like he actually was the Alpha of her pack.

My fingers curl around the pendant hanging from my neck, a symbol of my power and determination.

I clenched my fists tightly, my nails and the pendant digging into my palms as a surge of anger coursed through my veins. The intensity of my emotions threatened to consume me as I recalled the heated exchange between us just moments earlier.

"How dare he?" I seethed, my voice laced with fury. "After all I have done for this pack, after all the sacrifices I have made, he thinks he can just waltz in and claim ownership?"

I let go of the curtain and walked away from the window. I was going to sit on my bed, but my legs took me to an endless round of pacing in my room, my mind running a mile a minute.
