I watched her enter my room. I have to do this. I need to tell her the truth. But why am I so nervous?
‘Because you're afraid of what will be the outcome of your confession. You lied to our mate and made her suffer out there.’ My wolf said.
Maybe my wolf is right but she will not reject me, right? I mean, all I did was for her too.
"My King, you’re asking for my presence?" She asks. She's still wearing that shirt given by a male wolf in the crowd.
My wolf wants to tear that shirt off her.
"Yes, I need to tell you something, but can you change? I don't like seeing you in other male clothes." I said.
"Your Majesty, this shirt was given to me by my brother." She said.
I see. Now is the time.
I pulled my gloves off my hands. I looked into her eyes and took a step forward. She looks nervous but remains in her place. I need to do this... I need to tell her the truth now.
"Look Kath, I've been hiding something from you from the beginning. I just want you to know that all I did was necessary for the Kingdom," I said.
"I don't understand what you are talking about." She said, not looking into my eyes.
"You will understand once we touch." I reach for her hand and the electric feeling travels between us. "You are my mate, Kath, the reason why my mother and I visited all packs is to find you, but when I found you, I didn't tell you right away. I need to know if you're right for me and ready for the Queen's position. We made this agreement to create a battle to know who is the strongest female in the werewolf world and it's you. I'm sorry for keeping this information from you." I said.
She pulls away immediately and slaps me in the face.
"You're a coward! You trick me! I'm your mate but you put these shitty trials on me? What if I didn't win this battle? What if I get lost back there, are you still going to tell me that you're my mate?" She said, looking so angry.
"I don't know. I need to do that or else my father will force me to marry that girl," I explained.
"I don't need your explanation! I want you to answer YES OR NO!" She shouted.
"No." I honestly answered.
"You piece of Sh!t! You keep the truth from me! What if I lose there? You will remain silent about this while I am out there waiting for my mate, who will never come." she said, turning her back and walking away. I grab her hand but she pulls her hand away.
"Kath listened to me. It's necessary!" I said.
"Necessary your face! Blast you, you son of a bachelor. LIER!" She outraged her anger at the vase in front of her and threw it at me. Luckily, I caught it before it hit the floor. It was my mom's gift for me.
"Okay, I know you need your time. Your new room is next to mine. All your things are already in there," I said.
She just looks at me very mad. "I really want to reject you right now, but my wolf wants you. I will not let you mark me." She said before she harshly closed my door.
This is bad! I'm not used to this kind of thing but, what should I do? The mating ceremony will be held on the full moon.
I am wrong in keeping this from her. I need to gain her trust again. Damn! Why is it happening to me? There are a lot of things to do and this one added to my burden.
"Zeus, I need you to see this," he said.
He holds a small piece of paper.
"YOUR QUEEN IS BEAUTIFUL. CAN'T WAIT TO MAKE HER MINE."
I crumpled the paper and threw it away. He's here and he's threatening my mate. But why didn't I feel his presence if he was a rogue?
"Tyler, I think someone inside the castle is betraying us. We need to figure this out before they can touch my mate." I said to him.
"But how can we even possibly catch the traitor?" He asks.
"I don't have any idea, but soon I will figure this one out. Patrol day and night all over the area. If someone is acting weird, report it to me immediately.." I said.
"This is getting serious now, Zeus. I think this one has a deep reason to do this. Do you know anyone who can do this?" Tyler.
I thought for a while but all I could think was to protect Katharina from this.
"I don't have any suspects now, but we will figure this one out soon."
"How about Katharina? Are you going to tell her this?" Tyler.
"I don't know. We're not on good terms right now. She might throw every single thing in her room at me if I went there now," I said.
Tyler laughs at me, causing me to feel embarrassed. "That girl really did something to you, but Zeus, she deserves to know that she is in danger."
"I know. I'll talk to her tomorrow. Right now, she needs time for herself," I said.
"Good luck, Zeus," he said, leaving me laughing.
This one is getting serious, that man is threatening my mate. What does he mean that my mate will be his soon? I am getting mad thinking of what they will possibly do to her.
My wolf is getting on high alert now and he keeps back and forth inside of me saying that we need to protect our mate and we need to mark her to create a strong bond between me and Katharina.
A knock on the door woke me from my thoughts. My mother entered the room with a big smile.
"How's everything, my Son?"
"Hard."
"Why? Is she mad at you now?" She said, looking worried.
"She's mad at me because I already told her that we are real mates. She gets mad and tells me that she will not let me mark her." I said.
"That's serious, but you know what my Son, don't give up, and don't let her ruin this. Her hate will fade away. All you need to do is provoke and make her jealous. Remember you're her mate. The bond is stronger than anything." She said.
"Mother, what is your plan?" I asked. Knowing that my Mother knows how to tame this little mate of mine makes me excited.
"Well, it's simple. Keep your attitude as what it is, then make her jealous."
"You think that will work?" I said.
"She's a girl, my dear. Don't let her tame you. Instead, tame her and make her want you. But remember, it's your fault. Make her want you at the same time, prove to her that you only want her." She said.
"Thanks, Mother, this is a great idea," I said and she hugged me before she left.
