Methis Delis POV

He let go of my hand, and walked away. He got into his car, and drove away. He left me standing at the door, feeling confused and conflicted and guilty and hopeful. All at the same time.

It was scary as fuck.

I closed the door, and locked it going back to the couch, where sat down. I tried to process what had just happened.

Should I go to the hotel?

Or should I stay at home? Should I ignore him? Should I reject him? Should I hate him? Should I fear him? Should I forget him?

I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what to feel. I didn't know what to think. I didn't know what to choose.

I looked at the clock, and saw that it was almost time for school. Getting up from the couch, I grabbed my backpack. I put on my jacket, and headed for the door. I opened the door, and stepped outside.

I looked at the street, and saw his car. He was still there. He was still watching me. He was still waiting for me.

He smiled, and waved. He mouthed, "I will see you."

I felt a pang in my chest. The man could never let me be, ever and the very thought formed a knot in my throat.

I turned away, and walked to the bus stop. It took a few minutes for the bus to get there but as soon as I got on the bus, and sat on a seat, ai looked out the window, and saw him was still there. He was still watching me.

The man was persistent as fuck, I had to give him that.

He smiled, and blew me a kiss. He mouthed, "I'll see you soon."

I felt a shiver in my spine. I felt a chill in my blood. I felt a dread in my soul.

I looked away, and closed my eyes. I tried to block him out. I tried to forget him. I tried to ignore him.

But I couldn't.

The rest of the ride was spent looking over my shoulder, every car that sped by looked suspicious to me, every individual vehicle that followed us past 3 blocks immediately sent an alarm blaring in my head.

Until I was finally sure I wasn't being followed, only them did I lay back on my seat, rest and take a deep breath. I couldn't keep leaving like this, something had to give.

The next day practically went by in a blur. From class to class and finally back home, I spent most of it looking over my shoulder, hoping and praying that he wasn't there, by the corner, waiting for me.

By the time I got home I was exhausted from the stress of the day and from having to basically play a spy all day long avoiding the Alpha that was hot on my ass. I was lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling, thinking about Jamal.

I reached for my phone, and dialed Xander's number. He was my best friend, my confidant and lately he had also been doubling as my protector. He was the only one who knew about my secret, the only one who understood my situation, the only one who supported my decision. He was the only one who could help me.

He answered on the second ring, sounding cheerful. "Hey, Methis. What's up?"

I sighed, feeling relieved to hear his voice. "Hey, Xander. I need your advice."

He sensed the seriousness in my tone, and became concerned. "What's wrong? Is everything okay?"

I hesitated, not sure how to tell him. "Well, you remember the problem I had? About the guy who was after me?"

He groaned, sounding annoyed. "Yeah, I remember him. The jerk who ruined your life. The bastard who deserves to die. What about him?"

I swallowed, feeling nervous. "Well, he came to my house today. He said he wanted to talk to me. He said he had a reason for what he did. He said he loved me. He asked me to meet him at the hotel. He kissed me."

He gasped, sounding shocked. "He did what? He kissed you? And you kissed him back?"

I nodded, feeling guilty. "Yeah, I did. I don't know why. I just did."

He scolded, sounding angry. "Methis, how could you? How could you let him touch you? How could you let him near you? How could you let him manipulate you?"

I defended, sounding hurt. "Xander, he's not manipulating me. He's sincere. He's sorry. He's different."

He argued, sounding incredulous. "Methis, he's not sincere. He's lying. He's not sorry. He's selfish. He's not different. He's the same."

I protested, sounding confused. "Xander, how do you know? How can you be sure? How can you judge him?"

He explained, sounding calm. "Methis, I know because I've seen his kind before. I can be sure because I've done my research. I can judge him because I know the kind of man he is. He isn't good for you Methis, do you understand? You need to stay the fuck away from him."

I shivered, feeling scared. "I don't know what to do Xander, I am scared, he might be following me."

I heard him spring to his feet, "Keep talking, I am on my way."
