Methis Delis POV

"One more step closer to her and we'll find you six feet deep, Jamal." My father was at the other side of the living room with a shotgun in hand.

Jamal wasn't scared. All he did was smile and gently bow low. "Good day, Sir. Are we really going to be talking over shotgun? For how long?"

"For as long as it would take for you to know that my daughter does not belong to you." My father said sternly.

Jamal gestured towards a seat and took it carefully. "I've come again, Sir. I've come with a gift this time. A gift for Methis and I thought I'll give it to you in her stead but seeing that she is here herself, allow me to hand in my gift."

Without waiting for response, Jamal stood up and walked over to me. He went behind me and I heard the clap of a small box as it opened and closed. Slowly, his hands reached around my neck to pack my hair towards one side before sliding and clipping in a necklace. But then his hands wandered too low and too long. I looked at my father to see in displeasure glaringly obvious. But as for me, Jamal's hands were as delicate as that of a baby magician. It send cool signals up my head and weakened my knees. If I were not already sitted, I would have leaned back against him into his arms.

Jamal must have gotten a little bit carried away with the neck massage because it was not until my father fake coughed did Jamal take his hands off my neck and apologized lightly. Once his hands were off my neck, I took a look at it. It was not one of those necklaces that were not easily spotted on someone's neck. It was showy with intricate patterns embroidered around the tiny pendants and all around the necklace. Examining it well, I did not recognize the pattern as belonging to anything relating to the wolf pack. While I had been there I had studied their ancient alphabets and runes but none of these patterns matched anything I could remember. I loved the necklace. I loved it so much I unintentionally smiled.

"She loves it," Jamal pointed out to my father.

"So it seems," said my father. "But! Methis so too young for you. The age gap is past ten years. I can't allow it."

"Age is just a number. Isn't the what you humans say?" Jamal asked.

"Not in this context. This is marriage."

"But she loves me. She already have two children for me."

"By what means, Jamal?" My father stood to his feet. "By means of money and payment. That's not love! I'm not willing to stress on this matter more than it is necessary."

"This is your daughter's future, Sir," Jamal said. "Do you really want to depend the decision on this?" Jamal's eyes went to me. I didn't say anything at all.

Calmly, and weirdly, with a smile, Jamal exited mouthing to my father the words. "I will be back."

Jamal POV

It was another disappointing ending. There was nothing to be happy about. The only reason I had come to the human world in the first place was to win Methis over and take her in as my Luna but that was now proving impossible. It was would have gone correctly well if it wasn’t for those bloody dragons. First Xander comes in with his charming demeanour and wins Methis over making it diffuclt for me to break the ice. Winning her back was as if I had emptied a jar of water and was filling it back to the brim. I now had to woe her back all over again having previously done it when she was a surrogate at my palace.

I could not fathom how Methis still held the notion that I was there for Methis just because she looked strikingly familiar to the Dark Witch my first love. But I had cleared that idea, what brought it back? was it the current conflict that caused her to think such? Or was it Xander who had pumped that idea into her head the way he must be longing to pump his seed into her? But Xander had not known about the Dark Witch, has he? We looked into each other’s head some time ago but knowing just how much he had he had seen in the little time he had in my head was hard to say. Maybe he saw everything. Maybe he saw nothing. Only time would tell.

I walked back the direction of the hotel we had been lodged in ever since we came here. It was a cosy and flashy place and Summer had begun to like it. The more time we spent her the more Summer took to the liking of the mundane and Autumn despised it the more claiming the average human was void of knowledge. Of course in the face of a bookworm Autumn, who was not void of knowledge. I shoved my arms in my pocket as I walked back trying desperately hard to distract myself from thinking on the disappointing rejection that I had just received. Was this how I was going to live my life – in rejection. What would I gain if I go back to the pack and I return without a Luna at my side? Ever since Methis, I had been with no one else because I could not think of anyone else but her. Though I tried to mask the feeling at first, it was feeling so it could not be masked. It was and it eventually showed itself.

“Oi, brother!” a boy’s voice came from behind, shouting from afar. I turned to see a young boy no more than twelve years of age sprinting in my direction. I turned to continue my walk paying no heed to him but it was not until he stopped beside me and walked at my stride did I realize that he was actually calling out to me.

“What do you want?” I asked.

“You are Jamal, aren’t you?”
