Xander's POV
On the sidewalk leading to Methis apartment, car horns blared in the background as they zoomed pass sporadically. A little white dog barked as it tried to attack a fire hydrant in the corner.
I, however, walked with fury in my eyes. Why would she hide something so huge from me? I thought, "Perhaps she just wanted to bury it in the past," I muttered with a shrug. But I certainly wasn't cool with the fact that she lied to me. If what her stepmom said is true, then that would mean she and that freak have had sex. I can't believe she's been having sex with a werewolf, a fucking werewolf! I screamed in my mind with my fists clenched as rage filled my reins. How could she? I thought. I entered the apartment building. I walked mindlessly, not really even looking where I was going, it's not like I needed to anyway. I knew this place like the back of my head. Suddenly, someone bumped into me.
"Oh sorry," I said as I bent to help her pick up her books which fell.
"Don't worry, I'll get it," she said as she squatted and began to pick them up. On picking all of them, we both stood up and I was about to leave when, "Wait!" she suddenly said.
"Yes?" I replied as I paused, "What is it?" I asked.
"Urrhm, this is kinda embarrassing to ask," she said, "but do you have a girlfriend?" she asked. I looked at her with my eyebrows arched slightly upwards in negative surprise. I didn't really need to answer her and just planned to walk out on her but on a second thought, I decided to answer her.
"No I don't and I don't plan to," I replied coldly.
"Oh okay," she replied with her cheeks turning scarlet, "Sorry for bothering you," she added.
I simply nodded and walked away toward the elevator. On getting in, all I could think about were the words of Methis stepmom. I could feel my fury building up. One thing was sure, I had to make sure she never fell in love with Jamal.
The elevator sounded as it's doors slid open. I got off and walked towards her apartment. As I walked over to her door for the first time, I thought out my words very carefully. I had to be articulated but not too direct as to hurt or shock her.
I exhaled from my parted lips and then knocked thrice on the door.
"Who is it?" I heard he voice ask from within as her footsteps approached the door. The door swung open and Methis stood in the entrance. "Oh Xander?" she said in surprise, beaming an endearing smile that almost made me forget what I came here for in the first place. "What a surprise, come on in," she said as she gestured for me to come in before shutting the door.
"Thanks," I said as I walked in.
"So what brings you here so early in the morning?" she asked as she walked to the kitchen. I could perceive the scent of something cooking over there.
"Wait, is that spaghetti I smell?" I asked with a smirk.
"Uhun, it's spaghetti and meatballs," she said as I heard the clunky sound of a spoon hitting against the pot.
"Mmmm," I hummed as I savored the smell, "I could really use some of that," I said.
"Sure, there's enough for the both of us," she said, "By the way, you haven't yet told me what made you visit so early in the morning." she said as I watched her dish the food out.
"Well, you are my friend, aren't you?" I asked cheekily. I had to play it cool with her. Save my anger for Jamal.
"Yeah I am, why?" she asked.
"What's wrong with a friend visiting a friend?" I asked with a slight chuckle.
"You do know I've got neighbors right?" she asked as she brought out two plates of steaming hot spaghetti and meatballs and placed them on the dining table.
"Yeah, ain't nothing wrong with that," I said as I walked over to the table.
"Well yes, except that this building is literally for college girls," she said, "So a guy showing up at eight o'clock in the morning to visit one of them raises a lot of eyebrows," she added as she took her seat.
"Well I guess you do have a point," I said with a slight nod, my lower lip extended in deep thought, "but then again, it's not like we're doing anything inappropriate, except of course, you've got such ideas in your head," I teased, bouncing my eyebrows twice with a smirk on my face.
"Ewww! Gross!" she exclaimed making me laugh, "It's you guys who've always got such dirty thoughts on your mind," she said as she took a bite off the meatball on her fork.
"Okay wait, this is just hilarious," I said laughing, "So you're telling me that girls don't have any dirty thoughts?" I asked, staring her directly in the eye with a smirk on my face.
"Well they do," she said, "It's just not as crazy and hectic as those of boys," she added as she attempted to roll up some spaghetti on her fork.
"So that means you do admit to having dirty thoughts?" I teased her. Her face turned red with embarrassment.
"Well I'm human, you know?!" she snapped, still blushing and trying to hide her embarrassment.
"Geez, chill out tiger" I said while laughing. It always so cute when she gets embarrassed. It took me a while to stop laughing while she tried to distract herself with her food.
