Catherine said emotionally, "Blake, meeting you is my greatest fortune."
Blake, hearing her rare emotional words, smiled and said, "Is this a confession?"
"Yeah, thousands of words can't express how much I like you. I feel my soul is engraved with your name." Catherine said seriously, but it sounded like a romantic story, making Blake want to laugh.
" Oh? Is that so?" The man was delighted, with a smile on his face. "Alright, I'll find you again and marry you in the next life."
"Really?" Catherine, relieved that he agreed as if it were a major decision, felt at ease. Blake promised, "Yes, I believe our bond isn't over yet."
Catherine giggled, feeling she'd shifted the mood, and quickly speared a piece of delicious fish onto his plate. "Let's eat."
Blake looked at the fish, a gentle expression flashing across his face. He picked up his cutlery, ate the fish, and found it tasty.
After dinner, they strolled in the hotel's garden before heading back to their room.
The next morning, Catherine woke up early, excited about seeing her dad.
She woke to find the man still asleep. Blake had been relaxing his schedule lately, sometimes sleeping in with her.
Sunlight streamed in, illuminating his handsome face and highlighting his youthful charm, with sharp features like a finely carved artwork.
Catherine, propping up her chin, couldn't bear to wake him and just stared, lost in thought.
'This face never gets old.'
Blake was completely different asleep and awake. When asleep, he was less dominant and more approachable. When awake, he exuded a cold aura that would intimidate anyone not close to him.
Catherine thought she preferred him asleep—quiet and seemingly easy to tease.
As she thought this, her fingers crept onto his chest. After being held by him all night, she still felt warm and suddenly craved another hug.
But unexpectedly, as soon as her hand touched him, the man swiftly flipped their positions.
Catherine hadn't expected the still-sleeping Blake to suddenly pin her down.
"Miss me already?" His deep, enticing voice sounded in her ear.
Startled, Catherine immediately shook her head. "N-no, you're mistaken. I just... wanted to cover you with the blanket!"
Blake, seeing her flushed face, let her go. "Up so early?"
Catherine inwardly sighed with relief. If Blake had messed around now, she'd be drained today.
"I want to see my dad early!" Catherine immediately got up and followed him to the bathroom.
Upon entering, she heard water running and quickly turned to leave, her face slightly flushed.
She wondered why, after being with Blake for so long, she still blushed at little things.
On social media, many couples shared moments where women paid no mind to their partners, even doing their own thing while their husbands washed up.
But Catherine couldn't overcome this shyness.
When Blake did such things, her heart raced with an indescribable thrill.
'Am I crazy? Enchanted?'
When Blake came out again, he was clean-shaven with neatly styled short hair, looking even younger.
"Don't you want to go early? Why the delay?" Blake saw her standing by the door, daydreaming with her hands behind her back, and asked with a smile.
Catherine quickly darted into the bathroom to freshen up.
It took over an hour by car from the hotel to Halsey's villa.
On the way, Blake fell silent.
Catherine was torn. She knew Blake had issues with her dad.
So she eventually persuaded him, "Blake, if you really don't want to see my dad, just wait at the hotel. I'll have lunch with him and be back by evening!"
"We'll have to meet sooner or later. Can't hide forever." Blake knew she was considering his feelings, and he was conflicted.
Hearing this, Catherine felt even more guilty.
"But I don't want you to feel awkward. I hope you decide what you want, not just for me..."
Blake glanced at her. "You're my wife. Every decision I make will consider you."
Catherine was taken aback. Indeed, as a couple, they'd face many things together.
She said nothing, feeling an odd weight in her heart.
"Alright, don't worry about me. Honestly, your dad's a successful businessman. Chatting with him about work might actually help me." Blake seemed to read her thoughts, stroking her long hair to comfort her like a child.
Catherine was slightly stunned and leaned into his arms. "Do you really think so?"
