Tasha covered her face and cried even harder, looking pitiful as she said to Moira, "Look at Sunny! She thinks she's so great because she trained in taekwondo for a few years. Look at my face, it's almost disfigured. How am I supposed to see people now? I have family visits to make these days, I do even know what can I do now."
Tasha's loud crying and sympathetic words made Moira's face pale with anxiety.
Eben glared at Sunny in anger and pointed toward the door, shouting, "Get out of here right now!"
On hearing this, Sunny's whole body stiffened. She looked at Moira with a guilty expression.
Moira also froze, her face turning even paler. She quickly tried to placate Eben, "Don't get angry. I think there might be some misunderstanding between them..."
"There's no misunderstanding. She hit me. Look at my face, it's all the evidence you need," Tasha cried out pitifully.
Moira saw the red mark on Tasha's face that hadn't gone down and didn't know what to say.
Sunny gritted her teeth and picked up her backpack to leave.
"Sunny!" Moira was shocked, sensing that her daughter might not come back once she left.
She hurriedly came out and said, "Sunny, don't go. Just apologize to Eben. He was just speaking out of anger."
Sunny felt her mother might not understand her situation. This wasn't something an apology could fix. She truly didn't want to stay in this house for another second. The sight of Eben's and Tasha's hypocritical faces made her uncomfortable.
"Mom, if you need anything, give me a call. And if you want to eat or hang out in the future, just call and we'll set it up!" Though burning with anger, Sunny wasn't angry at her mother.
She knew her mother was weak and had her own difficulties.
So, she decided not to put her mother in a difficult position anymore. This time, she was really going to leave this family.
Moira was stunned. Then, she seemed to understand her daughter's determination.
She nodded and said calmly, "Alright. You take care, and watch out for your injury."
Sunny nodded. "It's much better. Don't worry, Mom. I'm leaving now!"
After speaking, Sunny ran quickly toward the front door of the hall. The Eben's home was a small villa. When Sunny rushed out, a black BMW sedan waiting on the roadside stopped immediately.
Gellman got out of the car anxiously and grabbed Sunny's arm. "Sunny, where are you going?"
Sunny's face brightened on seeing him. "I need to leave here."
"Why? Weren't we going to have lunch together?" Gellman looked surprised.
Sunny shook her head. "Not today. Maybe next time!"
Sunny started walking toward the nearby main road to hail a taxi.
Gellman turned his car around and offered her a ride. "Where are you heading? Let me give you a lift!"
"There's no need. You go ahead to the Eben's for lunch. I'll wait a bit. I'll get a taxi soon." Sunny said as she walked.
At that moment, someone pointed at her and shouted, "Look, there's Sunny."
"Really her. Let's go take a photo with her!" On the opposite side, a group of girls waiting for a bus saw Sunny and started talking excitedly. Then, they walked toward her.
Sunny's face turned pale with fear. She no longer hesitated and got into Gellman's car, pleading in a low voice, "Drive away quickly!"
Gellman stepped on the gas and left the girls far behind.
Sunny sighed in relief and leaned back in her seat.
Gellman glanced at her injured arm. "Why wasn't your phone reachable?"
Sunny was taken aback. She realized her two old phones were still locked in Leo's cabinet. She was now using a new one. Not only Gellman, but probably no one could find her.
"I got a new phone. Give me yours. I'll save my number." Sunny had no reservations with Gellman. She trusted him.
Gellman was surprised for a moment but handed over his phone. "Why the new number?"
"Too many people are looking for me." Sunny smiled.
"Of course, you're a big star now. There must be many more people seeking you out!" Gellman said with a tinge of helplessness.
"Don't mock me. I'm not a real star. If you search my past online, you'll find my reputation is at rock bottom," Sunny said with self -ridicule.
"Regardless of others' negativity, to me, you're always as pure and innocent as an angel," Gellman said earnestly.
On hearing this, Sunny's beautiful eyes widened in surprise. "I didn't expect you to have such a high opinion of me. I'm truly surprised."
Gellman glanced at her, his expression inscrutable.
Sunny smiled and said to herself, "How could I be an angel? I'm just an ordinary person from the mundane world."
"People come in many types, and you're the kind that no one can truly dislike," Gellman said with a light smile.
"Is that so? I don't agree. The number of people who hate me is countless. I believe with Leo's fan base, there are just as many who hate me. And the one who hates me the most is Tasha. I just lost my temper and slapped her. That's why I was out."
