My Mate Has Two Wolves

Chapter 439

Ch. 439 / 530 May 01, 2026

"I'm sorry." Sunny bowed her head, covered her face with her hands, and shook it violently. "Sorry, I really don't know what to do."

Leo looked at her like a frightened child, muttering this sentence over and over.

But he didn't want to hear her apologies.

"Maybe I loved the wrong person. Since you never tell me the truth, fine, let's stop torturing each other. Breaking up is the wisest choice," Leo steeled himself again, slammed the things he was carrying onto the table, and turned to leave.

Sunny heard the door close heavily again, as if it had slammed right into her heart.

She trembled all over.

They must had been enemies in their past life.

Sunny sneered at herself. That was why this life was full of torment.

Leo went downstairs, got into his car. His mind went blank.

He didn't know why he was so heartless, but he was just really angry, especially since he placed Sunny in the most important position, yet had to endure her lies time and time again.

Leo sat in his car for a long time before calling Blake.

"Leo?" Blake's voice came through.

"I found Olivia." Leo said right away.

"Where did you find her?" Blake's tone became tense.

"I found her at Sunny's place. Olivia said she doesn't want to run anymore and wants to confess to us," Leo said with a cold smile.

Blake frowned and said coldly, "If she really does this, find her a place to stay first, and then find a good time for her to reveal more details."

"She said she'd come to the company tonight, but I'm not sure. I actually let her go just now," Leo thought of how he had released such an important witness and wanted to punch himself.

"Why did you let her go?" Blake's voice instantly became stern.

"I... I felt she would really come to the company tonight," Leo had inexplicably believed that woman's words, and now he realized how naive he had been.

Blake fell silent for a moment.

Leo rubbed his face, feeling like he had probably made a mistake again.

"Did you have another fight with Sunny?" Only relationship issues could make someone lose sight of what was important.

Leo had to vaguely say, "Yeah, we split up again."

Blake fell silent once more.

Leo's fiery temper seemed unchanged. However, young people might just be capricious.

He wouldn't dare to joke with his relationship with Catherine like Leo did. He always felt that one quarrel was enough to hurt, and it was incredible that his brother had so many quarrels without breaking up.

"Are you sure you want to break up with her?" Blake advised kindly.

Leo gritted his teeth in hatred and said, "She forced me to do this. This time, we're definitely breaking up!"

Leo returned to the company with a heavy heart and couldn't focus on work the entire afternoon.

He wanted to see if Olivia would keep her word and come to the company tonight as promised.

If she dared not to come, he would never let Sunny off the hook— that silly girl would give up love for her.

Night fell quickly. The city was enveloped in the glow of countless lights.

Olivia walked wearily down the street, her heart filled with worry for Sunny's situation, fearing that she would get into trouble again because of her.

Leo must hate her to the core by now.

Thinking of this, Olivia quickened her pace.

She had already made a grave mistake back then and could not afford to make the same mistake again, especially regarding Sunny. All she had left in this life was guilt towards her.

Olivia walked furtively to the front desk of Leo's company and asked the receptionist to make a call for her.

When Leo received the call, his face was as cold as ice.

He had a premonition that Olivia would not run away this time—he might have underestimated the familial bond between Olivia and Sunny.

And at this moment, he suddenly understood why Sunny had covered for Olivia time and time again—because of affection, the most irrational thing in the world. Some people would give up their lives for it, and others would lay down their pride.

Leo recalled the harsh words he had spoken to Sunny at noon, and his chest felt as if it were blocked by something, making it hard to breathe.

Olivia followed the assistant into Leo's office.

Leo sat upright in his black swivel chair, looking at her with cold eyes.

In the few days since they had last met, Olivia had become alarmingly thin and haggard.

"I'm here. You can call the police and arrest me. I won't run anymore," Olivia said calmly.

"Can't run anymore, can you?" Leo sneered.

"Something like that. Living in constant fear is a kind of torment too. Going to prison might actually ease my conscience."

"You still have a conscience? Didn't you sell it to the dogs long ago?"

Olivia lowered her head. "I'm sorry. I was young and foolish, making a grave mistake. You can arrest me, but please don't take it out on Sunny. She was forced by me. She didn't mean to shield me."

"Should I be touched by that?" Leo scoffed.

Olivia had no reply.

"For now, I won't send you to prison. I'll find you a place to stay, but don't even think about running again. I'll have people watching you," Leo said.

"Why? I've already agreed to confess everything," Olivia asked.

"No need to question. It's my decision."

Olivia nodded. "I'll comply, but please don't blame Sunny. She's a good girl."

"Whether she's good or not is for me to judge. Not running is the best protection you can offer her," Leo thought of the harsh words he had spoken in the afternoon and felt even more remorse. If kindness was considered a flaw, then where was the justice in this world?
