The situation took a turn for the better, with Sunny being kicked out by Leo.
So, Tasha came over smugly to mock her.
If she didn't vent on Sunny, she couldn't swallow her anger.
Thinking of Sunny's past with Leo, Tasha was filled with indignation.
Her idol had been with this woman, which felt like a knife to her heart. She considered it unbearable and thought highly of herself for not slapping Sunny.
"You were so confident. If you want to join his company as an artist, you can go anytime," Sunny said coldly.
"I could have, but now it's uncertain!" Tasha's tone changed abruptly, with a hint of anger. "You've offended Leo. If he finds out I'm your stepsister, he might not sign me."
Sunny couldn't help but sneer. "Rest assured. If you can't get into his company because of me, I'll talk to him. I'll tell him I have nothing to do with you, so he won't blame you because of me."
Tasha was skeptical. Sunny's sudden kindness seemed suspicious, as if she were trying to appease her.
Sunny ignored her and headed upstairs.
Tasha, enraged by Sunny's disregard, turned blue with anger.
Sunny went upstairs and saw her mom and two younger brothers in the toy room.
They were around seven or eight years old, once cute but now mischievous. Seeing Sunny, they made funny faces.
Moira stood up and smiled. "Sunny, you're back!"
"Yeah. " Seeing her two younger brothers, Sunny had a mixed feeling.
At 22, she had two brothers much younger than her, with whom she had little in common.
"Did you come back empty - handed again?"
"You said you'd buy us robot toys last time. You lied!"
"Tasha brought us lots of good food and toys!"
"Exactly. You're doing so poorly. I'm embarrassed to be your family!"
Sunny, upset by their remarks, remained calm. "I brought you toys too. They're downstairs. Go and take a look yourselves."
The boys raced downstairs, making a lot of noise.
Moira, watching her sons leave, said to Sunny, "They talk a lot and are heartless. Don't take it to heart. They're just kids, always playing!"
Sunny smiled without a word.
At nearly eight, their heartless talk indicated poor upbringing.
Contrasting with the Royal family's children, Sunny realized how crucial family education was.
Her mom and stepfather spoiled their sons, giving them whatever they wanted, fostering their arrogant personalities. Sunny disapproved of this upbringing.
"Your cousin will join us for dinner later." Moira said cheerfully.
Sunny was taken aback. "Oh, why is he coming?"
Her cousin Gellman was the only person Sunny didn't dislike. His good manners and broad-mindedness set him apart from the Cook family.
"He heard you're back and agreed to join us for dinner." Moira said with a smile. "Sunny, what do you think of him?"
Sunny's face froze in disbelief. "Why are you asking this?"
Moira sighed. "Don't think I can't see it. I know he has a thing for you."
Sunny shivered and felt uneasy.
"Mom, I've always seen him as a family. Please don't say such things!"
Moira, seeing her daughter's aversion, quickly comforted her. "Okay, okay, don't be angry. I was just looking out for you. Seeing you down lately, I hoped someone could take care of you."
"Mom, don't mention this when he comes." Sunny said seriously.
"Rest assured, I won't bring it up. Actually, I don't think he's quite right for you." Moira felt Gellman wasn't worthy of her daughter.
As a professor with a stable income, he lacked the potential for great wealth, which Moira, living a life of luxury, deemed essential for her daughter's future.
Sunny walked to her room, passing the stairs where the sounds of the two boys' quarrel echoed. She sighed.
Opening her door, she found Tasha sitting on her bed, looking haughty.
"What are you doing in my room?" Sunny's room was the smallest and darkest in the house.
