"Stop overthinking! Once married, why would there be divorce?" Olivia said, both anxious and annoyed that Sunny was thinking so far ahead.
Sunny gazed at her calmly. "Olivia, I truly love him. I'm just afraid my issues might cause him trouble. I don't think marriage is urgent. Let's wait until your matters are settled before discussing this."
"Ugh, it's all my fault. Sunny, do you blame me for coming between you two?" Olivia said, slapping her own face in frustration.
Sunny grabbed her arm in surprise. "Olivia, don't do that. I don't blame you. I know you've had your struggles too!"
"No, I had plenty of choices, yet I picked the most wrong path!" Olivia lamented her reckless youth, now seeing it as utter foolishness.
"Everyone makes mistakes when they're young!" Sunny smiled reassuringly.
Olivia looked at Sunny's gentle face and murmured, "You and he have such similar personalities."
"Olivia, what are you muttering about?" Sunny didn't catch her words, let alone understand the pain in Olivia's heart at that moment.
Olivia covered her face with her hands, ashamed to meet Sunny's eyes.
"Sunny, you should leave. Don't come see me anymore. I'm doing fine here." Olivia was too ashamed to face Sunny, feeling like a sinner.
Sunny knew Olivia had been emotionally volatile lately and stood up. "Olivia, rest well. I will come back."
"Don't bother. Don't let Leo misunderstand you more." Olivia urged.
Sunny sighed inwardly, fearing this misunderstanding might never clear up.
After leaving the villa, Sunny headed straight to the company.
"Sunny, you're back? Where've you been?" her assistant Sabrina greeted her immediately.
Sunny replied absentmindedly, and Sabrina's eyes flickered as she suggested, "You mentioned wanting to go shopping before. I'm free now. Let's go!"
"I'm not in the mood now. Maybe another day." Sunny forced a smile.
Sabrina's expression shifted, but she didn't press further.
In the evening, Sunny returned to Leo's place, where he was already seated on the sofa.
He seemed to have had a drink, his face slightly flushed. Noticing her entrance, he glanced over.
"You're back early. Didn't you have a banquet?" Sunny put down her bag and sat beside him.
"Saw Samuel. He's grating on my nerves!" Leo said with a dark expression.
Sunny hugged him tenderly. "That Samuel's such a schemer, always stirring up trouble. He wasn't this active before!"
"He's just putting on a show for me. He's seething with resentment." Leo sneered.
"You should avoid him then. He's too treacherous and scary," Sunny advised.
"Hmm, rub my temples, my head aches." Leo closed his eyes and asked softly.
Sunny stood behind him and gently massaged his temples.
"I visited Olivia again today. She seems to be in better spirits lately," Sunny said quietly.
"Of course, she doesn't have to hide anymore; naturally, she's more at ease." Leo replied sarcastically.
"Actually, I meant to say, thank you." Sunny lowered her head shyly and kissed his forehead. "You've been more than kind to Olivia."
"The one who wanted to harm my father isn't her. She was just a tool in Richard's hands. Tools have no choice," Leo said coldly.
Sunny bit her lip and fell silent.
"Alright, stop rubbing. Get something to eat. I haven't had dinner yet." Leo broke the heavy silence.
"Okay." Sunny agreed.
In no time, she prepared a simple home-cooked meal of three dishes and a soup.
Sobered from the alcohol, Leo sat at the table and ate slowly, relishing the homely atmosphere. It reminded him of his childhood, warm and carefree with his parents by his side.
"Blake is getting married soon. Will you come with me?" Leo said.
"I don't think I can." Sunny bit her chopsticks, recalling how Abigail had scrutinized her at the Royal Pack's manor, which drained her courage.
"Trust me, my mom won't find out," Leo reassured her with a pat on her shoulder.
"It'll come out sooner or later. Leo, maybe I should confess," Sunny suggested after much thought.
"Now? Don't pick this moment. After Blake's wedding, I'll explain to her," Leo quickly said.
"Alright, but can I skip Blake's wedding?" Sunny pleaded, feeling each appearance before Abigail magnified her guilt.
"Think it over. I won't force you. I might be busy that day too," Leo relented, and Sunny breathed a sigh of relief.
Leo's eyes narrowed. "Your reluctance to attend isn't just about my mom, is it?"
"What else could it be?" Sunny was startled by his guess.
"You're not still suspicious about me and Catherine, are you?"
"No, absolutely not!" Sunny was taken aback by his implication.
"Good to hear that." Leo raised his eyebrows.
