The door opened with a question. "Who's that?" The person who opened the door was a woman in her fifties, wearing old clothes.
"We are lost, can we sleep here for one night?"
"Okay. Come in." The woman said and she opened the door wide.
David and Ella entered the house.
The woman goes into the room and gives her and him two sets of old clothes. "Get dressed, watch out for colds."
"Thank you." Ella took the clothes and bowed politely.
The woman boils the water to make tea. Pouring tea into two cups, she said, "Drink ginger tea to warm your stomach."
"Thank you." The couple said in unison, then brought the teacup to their mouth and took a sip.
The woman lives with her husband, with no children. They live together very happily.
"I want... that..." The husband was much older than the wife, so his voice was broken and hard.
"No." The wife smiled and shook her head.
Ella turned to elbow David. "He hasn't said anything yet, why does she know what he wants to say 'No'."
He shrugs.
"I want that." The husband's hand trembled slightly as if he wanted to imply something.
The wife nodded. "Yes." Then she brought the cup of tea to his mouth.
David whispered in her ear. "Just now she said 'No' but now she says 'Yes', I see that she doesn't know what he wants."
The woman explained it to them. "He wanted to smoke, of course, I said 'No'. Then he wanted tea, so of course, I said 'Yes'."
She nodded.
He asked the woman. "How do you know?"
"Of course, I know. We've lived together for decades, his temperament, personality, habits, I know him well."
Some words do not need to be spoken to be understood. Because the old couple used their hearts to listen to their needs.
The rain was still dripping on the old corrugated iron roof. The wind howled now and then, pounding hard on the window, it sounded cold.
In a small room with a warm fireplace, Ella leaned her head against the wall and spoke to the man beside her. "Their love is so good."
"What will we look like when we grow old?" David asked.
"Very funny." Ella imagined David as an old man, laughing.
David glanced at her. "Better than you from young to old all have the same body."
"You..."
Seeing her open her mouth to argue, he immediately lay down and covered himself with a blanket. "Okay, say no more. Let's go to sleep."
In the middle of the night, he woke up, sat up, and watched her sleep. Moments later, he sneaks out of the room and then returns with a pen and a bowl of flour in hand. He whispered to her. "After you get old, there is bound to be a lot of gray hair because you save up even your hair doesn't dare to dye. Even though skin care cosmetics are also economical, do not buy them so wrinkles will also be a lot. But, at that time if I could see you become an old woman, I would still find you lovely. I want to continue living with you until we die together."
He used a pen to draw lines on her face and then put flour on her hair to make her hair gray. While doing that, he chuckled. His laughter woke her up.
"You still haven't slept?" She sat up. Seeing her hair smeared with white, she looked in the mirror and was quite shocked. "What are you doing? Why did you draw me like that and my hair? You're so childish." She didn't understand what he meant, so she scolded him.
"I just want to see what you look like when you're old. I'll let you paint my face."
Hearing him say that she happily sat up close, drawing him into an old face. She speaks. "You like to get angry, wrinkles are bound to be a lot. In particular, your favorite is frowning."
He laughed so hard that she couldn't draw anything.
"Stay still..." She poured flour into his hair. "I'll make your head white." Finished the drawing, and the two of them even took a picture as a souvenir.
The next morning, David and Ella returned to the hotel together. All their co-workers ran to ask, worried about Ella.
Maria stood in a far corner, looking at Ella with sharp eyes. 'Why is she still alive?'
She purposely pushed Ella off the cliff, letting Ella disappear from David's life, so she had a chance to be with him. But, things didn't go as she expected. Her plan failed once again.
Maria turned around and stared at the familiar figure, but his eyes never met hers, his feelings were only for the girl in his heart.
Maria's hands clenched tightly, and her heartbroken eyes also turned red.
David put Ella in the car, he drove to the nearest hospital.
Watching the car drive away, Rika reached out and touched her nose. She's worried about Ella. From the moment Ella happened, she couldn't even come near her to ask. Because David hugged her sister-in-law tightly.
Key put his hand on Rika's shoulder, he cleared his throat comfortingly. "Don't worry, she'll be fine. Miss Ella has the superintendent taking care of it, so you don't need to worry."
Rika looked up at Key, she bit her lip. "But I'm so worried about her, I want to be with her right now."
Key advises her. "You stay here, I'll go to the hospital. Any news, I'll let you know, okay?"
Rika nodded, returning to her room.
At the hospital.
The doctor examined Ella's leg and said it was only a minor dislocation, not serious. But she still had to stay in the hospital for a few days to get checked out.
Although she told David to return to the hotel, he insisted on staying and taking care of her. He sat on the edge of the bed, carefully rubbing her calves.
Ella felt his warm hand tender, caressing her leg, his gaze intently helping her see the wound.
Her tender heart never stopped sobbing.
Although this man seems cold, she feels his sincerity towards her.
Ella is a bit tired, she closes her eyes a bit, her back leaning on the pillow behind her. Feeling the pain in her leg both burning and freezing, she opened her eyes. David washed her wound, he even leaned over to blow on the wound.
"You stay here and rest, I'll buy you something to eat." David rose from his seat and opened the door to the room.
Moments later, he returned with a bag of food in hand. He poured porridge into a cup and wanted to feed Ella.
"I can feed myself." Ella felt shy. She reached out for the spoon but he stopped her.
"Let me feed you."
"But I didn't hurt my hand."
David did not answer, he brought the spoon of porridge close to her mouth, and he ordered her to open her mouth.
Ella thought for a moment, then opened her mouth and ate the food that David gave her. She feels so happy to be taken care of by him.
