David's eyes lit up, bright, he suddenly sighed in annoyance: "Now, I can only look at you, can't touch, much less eat."
Ella looked at him seriously. "This has to wait until your wound heals."
David reached out and patted her nose. "After all, what did I owe you in my past life? Money or life?
Ella giggled. "Love."
No matter what he owes her, in this life, he will spend the rest of his life returning it to her, and he also volunteered to pay her back.
David suddenly spoke. "You give me a bath, okay?"
Ella's face turned red. She was embarrassed but couldn't refuse. "OK."
David rejoiced, lowered his head, and kissed her again.
Ella prepares warm water, she increases the temperature of the air conditioner in the bathroom for fear that he will catch a cold.
David slowly walked into the bathroom, she helped him undress. She saw the wound on his chest, unable to hold back her tears. She cried again.
David reached out and gently wiped her tears. "I'm fine, so stop crying, okay?"
Ella nodded, trying to smile and help him shower.
Maria and her men returned home before the police investigated the culprit. The police called David, asking him to cooperate to find the culprit who shot him.
However, he refused.
After returning home, he will report to the police in his country what happened. Because he thinks the culprit is most likely a domestic, not a foreigner.
A month later, a plane from abroad landed stably at the airport in X city. From the plane, a couple got off. In this winter weather, Ella just got off the plane and felt cold. keen.
David took her hand and put it in his coat pocket. Ella reminded. "Be careful, don't touch your wound."
"No problem," David replied.
They walked out of the airport gates and returned to their homes by taxi. David rested for two days to fully recover. After that, he went to the police station and met with Officer Vic to report the progress of the case.
Officer Vic jotted down his words on a piece of paper. He promised that he would quickly investigate the culprit.
Ella couldn't breathe. Looks like someone gagged her. She tried to fight back but the man was too strong.
The man started to tear her skirt. She shouted. "No!"
Ella saw the dragon tattoo on the man's arm. He pointed the gun at it.
"I don't want your money. All I want you to die." The man's voice rang out.
And then a shot rang out. David was shot.
There is blood.
"No."
Ella screams and wakes up. She was panting and her shirt was drenched in sweat. Her body is trembling.
David was awakened by his wife's screams. "What happened? Why are you shouting like that?" he asked, his face full of concern.
"David." Ella started to cry. "I... I had a nightmare. I... I saw the culprit...." She said in a trembling voice.
David hugged her. "It was just a nightmare. It's okay." He comforted her.
"David, he wants to kill me. I'm scared... I always see him in my dreams."
David touched her chin. "Ella, I'm here. Don't worry too much."
Ella hugged David. She's scared, but fear doesn't make the situation any better. With that in mind, she tried to calm herself and tried to avoid thinking about that traumatic incident.
Next morning.
David stood in front of the mirror, checking his outfit.
"Tie me up."
David turned him over to the woman in a white dress coming out of the bathroom.
Ella walked over to take the tie, tiptoed, and carefully tied the tie for him.
The image of the two of them reflected in the mirror made the smile on Tri Nghien's lips widen.
Standing next to him, she always became small, graceful, and soft, making it impossible not to fall in love with others.
"Accomplished," Ella said.
"Reward you."
David wrapped his arms around her small waist and kissed her slightly pink lips.
Ella seemed to be used to this kind of intimacy, but her eyes were still a little shy.
David's hand gently caressed her lips. "For the time being, please stay at home, the police have not yet investigated who the culprit wearing the Ninja mask is. I fear they will harm you again."
"I can't stay at home forever. The only way to overcome your fear is to face them." Ella looked at him while speaking.
"I know. But I worry for you. You should stay at home today, wait a few days, and then come to work."
"OK."
David kissed her forehead and then he picked up his office bag and took a big step out the door.
In his office, David concentrates on the documents on his desk.
There was a knock on the door. He says. "Come in."
Key opened the door, walked over to his desk, and put down a file. "This month's revenue report."
David nodded, looking through the reports Key had just put down.
"That case still hasn't found the culprit?" Key asked.
"Not yet. The police are still investigating, they don't have any leads yet." David looked up. "I was too negligent, didn't bring more bodyguards."
"They are cruel to use strong anesthetics. I think this person must hate Miss Ella." Key said.
David frowned. "This is hard to understand. Ella didn't make a mistake with anyone, why would anyone harm her? Key, you provide the best bodyguards to protect her."
"I know, general manager." Key does David's command and he goes out.
Maria came out of her hiding place. She heard the conversation between David and his assistant. She smiled maliciously. 'If I don't have David, then Ella can't have either. Why should I suffer when I lost my man and she is happy?'
Maria took out her phone and called Jake. "Act carefully. They started investigating."
"Yes," Jake said then hung up the call.
Sunlight streamed through the room door, illuminating the squiggly lines on the table. The image of the sun changes with the direction of the wind, they dance on the table. Ella enjoyed watching.
Suddenly, a hand slammed on her desk, followed by a thick stack of documents and a sour voice rang out. "Please review all these documents."
Ella was surprised, looking up. "This is the duty of a chief accountant, right?"
"I still have to plan a year-end project. Do you have free time, have time to watch the sun but have no time to work? Strange." Maria scoffed. It was clear that she was deliberately trying to make it difficult for Ella.
