The next day, when Ella came to her desk, she saw a beautiful pink box on the table. 'This is David's box. But why did he give me a present?' Ella laughed heartily while trying to guess what was inside the box.
Ella opened the outer box, which contained a smaller box. For some reason, she had a bad premonition, she suspected that there wasn't a pretty thing in this box.
Ella continued to open. When she saw what was inside the box, she was quite shocked, blood rushing from her legs to the top of her head, causing a dark cloud to appear before her eyes.
"Aaah!" She screamed in panic, her whole body fell backward, fell from the chair, and fell to the ground.
It was early in the morning so there weren't many of her colleagues in the office. Jenny heard her scream and ran to her to see what was wrong with her.
Ella didn't say anything, she quivered and pointed at the pink box on her desk. Jenny and her other colleagues peered inside the box. They were amazed at what they saw.
Inside the box was a rag doll, it was red. Maybe blood. There is a knife on the body of the doll. It looks really scary.
Yesterday, she was almost harassed, and today received a scary gift. Looks like the culprit hates her. There was a moment of silence. This is her first time encountering this situation. She kept thinking this only happened in the movies.
Ella wondered why she was angry with that person who cursed her with such a scary thing.
Jenny approached her. "You should report it to the police."
Because she was so scared, Ella didn't hear what Jenny said to her. She just nodded absently and sat down in a chair, away from the box.
Her colleague comforted her with a few words and then dispersed.
Ella's phone suddenly rings. It was David calling. He wants her to come to his office.
Ella rushes to David's office. As soon as he saw her come in, David stood up from his chair and walked over to hug her. "Are you ok? When was the box brought to your room?" He asks. Maybe Key told him about the scary doll.
Ella tells him how it all started. "When I arrived in the morning, I saw that box. I also suspect that it was you who gave me that box."
"The person who harassed you and the person who sent the box, do you think is the same person?" David is worried about Ella but he is angrier because someone dares to threaten his wife.
"I think maybe it is."
"Don't worry, I'll take care of this." David comforts her. They talked for a bit before Ella returned to her study.
After Ella left, David immediately called Key. "Get the box from Ella's place and investigate it. You can report to Officer Vic. Let's catch the culprit as quickly as possible." He hung up the phone right after instructing Key.
Ella continues her workday. David says that he will solve the problem with the doll box. She trusted him because she knew that with him, Ella would be at peace.
Near the end of work, Ella wanted a cup of coffee, so she went to the bartender and Maria was there too. Maria is enjoying her coffee.
Ella wanted to ignore her but suddenly Maria turned her head towards Ella, so Ella tried to give her a polite smile.
"After all, what did you marry David for?" With her coffee cup in hand, Maria focused on Ella.
"What is your purpose in asking this question?" Ella poured the coffee into the cup.
"Is it because he is rich? Right. Nowadays, women want to marry rich men because they like the money of men."Maria continued to drink her coffee.
Ella was about to ignore Maria's words. This isn't the first time, she's seen a look of hatred towards her from Maria. It seemed that every time she talked, Maria mocked or insulted her.
This time, Ella didn't want to be silent anymore. Maria will treat her like a fool.
"Why do you always think that women marry rich men for their money? Is there no love between them? I think marrying a rich man is a blessing. But the most important thing is still to love. If love comes from material things, it won't last."
Ella picked up her coffee and walked away elegantly after she had said what she needed to say, while Maria remained standing there, a cup of coffee in hand.
When it was time to leave work, Raymon went to Ella's office. He is still harboring some intentions to continue flirting with her again.
When Raymon arrived at the office, he saw Ella coming out from inside. He smiled at her. She didn't look upset about the scary doll box, he felt relieved.
"Why are you here? You came to find me?" Ella asked.
"I just want to make sure you're okay." Raymon is busy all day today. When he heard that Ella received a scary gift, he couldn't even come and ask. Now, he just had a chance to ask her out.
"I'm fine. Raymon, you should leave before the traffic jams happen." Ella replied.
Raymon likes her in this regard, she is always concerned about others.
When he was about to say something, David walked up to him. He sees Raymon as the air steps closer to Ella and puts his hand on her waist. "Let's go eat, okay?"
Raymon feels like David is bragging about how good his relationship with Ella is.
"OK." Ella turned to Raymon and said cheerfully. "Raymon, we go first." Ella waved and then she followed David into the elevator.
Raymon held his hand tightly. Throughout college, he was always second, behind David, in every way. He just stood there watching until the elevator doors closed.
In their car, Ella grabbed David's arm. "You cook for me, okay?" She said in a sweet voice and she blinked a few times. She looks like a docile puppy wagging her tail.
David smiled. "You don't have to be cute in front of me. Even if you don't ask, I'll cook for you." He said and pinched Ella's cheek. "What do you want to eat?"
Ella frowned as if thinking of something for dinner. "Let's eat hot pot, okay?"
"Yes, dear wife," David said, he bowed his head as if he were talking to a queen in ancient times.
