Love after Divorce

38: Paige

Ch. 38 / 127 Apr 15, 2026

Paige narrates:

Since Mason left, I found it too hard to focus on what I was doing here, the truth is I never thought I would find him in this place. It was a surprise to see him and especially the attitude he had.

When I'm alone I find what I'm looking for, one of those guys that show at first sight that they don't want anything serious, just like what I'm looking for. As always, I pretend, I haven't seen him, and he ends up approaching me. The night starts like any other, he buys me a drink and one thing led to another and I achieve my goal of eliminating the sexual charge I had.

At the end of the sex act, which I must say was fantastic, he expects me to say something like stay, however, my words surprise him.

"It was great, but you should go now," I say, pointing to the hotel door that I always use.

"Are you serious?" he asks, hurt.

"Well, yes. Thanks for what happened," I say with a smile.

"Wow, I didn't expect you to say that. Honestly, I thought you would ask me to stay with you for the whole night," he says, blushing.

"Well, as you can see, that's not the case. Thanks again for everything, and goodbye forever," I tell him, hoping he leaves the room.

"I understand. It was a pleasure. You didn't tell me your name, but I think it was on purpose. You'll be a beautiful memory," he says, waving goodbye.

Alone again, I stretch out on the bed and contemplate whether to sleep here or at home. There isn't much of a difference. I don't think Mason will come. I'm sure he's in the same mindset as me. Good for him.

I decide to sleep here and wake up early to have breakfast at home. It's for the best.

After a restful sleep, I wake up with a smile on my face, all thanks to last night's stranger. I sigh and take a bath before heading home.

Upon arrival, I don't see Mason's car. I check the time and realize it's five in the morning. I go to my room and change my clothes, then head down to the dining area, where I'm greeted by my baby, who's not a baby anymore. He has grown so much. The housekeeper takes care of him when I'm not at home.

I sit down to have breakfast, and just then, my husband comes downstairs. I smile to greet him, but it seems to bother him. How audacious of him. I ignore him and go to the office. Before leaving, he tells me he won't be home early, to which I simply nod with my mouth shut.

That gives me some free time, but I don't want to repeat what happened last night. I think tonight it will just be me and Simba. It's been a while since I slept with him, and tonight is the perfect night.

I work as usual, not checking my phone until I arrive home, where I find a message from Emily. She asks to meet for lunch. I check the time of the message and realize it was sent a while ago, so I decide to call her to apologize for not responding.

She always asks me that question when she sees me, about how her son is behaving. To which I always answer that he is doing well, and she smiles, although this time it is different, she looks at me seriously.

"You know you can tell me if he doesn't or if he does something wrong right? "she asks taking my hands.

" Of course, I know, do not worry "I answer smiling.
