His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 164

Ch. 164 / 264 Apr 07, 2026

Jessica still wanted to say something, but Leslie shook her head and pulled Jessica away.

Jessica said anxiously, "Leslie, why did you stop me?"

"The company is in such a mess right now. Lance and Austin don't have the time and energy to solve the problem between you and Annette. We can solve the grudge between women ourselves."

"What can we do? Even Randolph refused to help us," Jessica complained.

"We can rely on ourselves. There is still room for what Randolph said back then."

  "Do you have a solution?"

Leslie laughed. "A few days ago, I met the chief editor of a magazine in the beauty salon. She likes to collect information about rich and powerful families. We can stay in the beauty salon for the next few days. When we meet her, we pretend to leak some information to her!"

Jessica gave Leslie a thumbs-up and said, "Leslie, you are awesome."

Leslie put on a proud smile and said, "Don't worry. You are my daughter. I will never let you lose to that bitch Annette."

  "I won't. Don't worry."

On Sunday morning, Connor received a call. Harrison came back and asked him out for a gathering.

Connor called Annette out before he left.

Annette followed him into the car and asked in confusion, "Where are we going?"

"We are going for a drink."

"I won't drink." Annette said hurriedly, "I quit it."

  "I will drink."

Annette frowned and said, "What's bothering you?"

"Harrison came back. I told him I found my mate, but he didn't believe me. So I took you out to see him."

Connor brought Annette to the bar.

Looking at Harrison, he raised his eyebrows and asked, "Where are they?"

"Rex and Yahweh are not in the city."

Harrison replied as he looked at Annette.

Annette was also looking at Harrison.

As they met each other's eyes, Annette nodded politely at Harrison.

Harrison's facial features were tough, and yet he was handsome and sturdy. Annette didn't know how tall he was because he was sitting.

Connor sat down next to Harrison. With Connor's comparison, Annette guessed that they should be about the same height.

Seeing that Annette was still standing there and looking at Harrison, Connor asked, "Darling, what are you looking at?"

  Darling?

The way he called her got her goosebumps. She looked at Connor speechlessly.

Connor saw her expression and laughed. "Aren't you worried that Harrison would be shy?"

Annette walked over and sat down beside him. She smiled at Harrison. "Hello, Mr. Gardner. My name is Annette."

"Hello, Ms. Hall. Please, just call me Harrison."

Connor was relaxed. Annette listened to him chatting happily with Harrison and felt good to see such a scene.

Connor put his hand on Annette's shoulder naturally. He bragged, "I have a mate. I am different from a single person like you. Ann is very good to me."

Harrison glared at him. He ignored Connor's childish behavior and picked up his glass to drink.

Annette nudged Connor's abdomen to remind him not to be too presumptuous.

"Ms. Hall, you have to be careful. A lot of women like Connor. He is not trustworthy."

Connor glared at him. "Harrison, you're starting a personal attack."

  "I'm telling the truth."

Connor crossed his arms and said, "Well, please elaborate."

Otherwise, he was afraid that Annette's imagination would run wild again.

Harrison stared at Connor for a while and said, "Last night, when I came back, I went to Alpha Randolph. He said that he caused you some trouble. To return the favor, he agreed to get you together with Lance's daughter. Yesterday, Jessica and Leslie came to him again. Guess what they want."

Connor's face turned cold. He said, "Are the members of the Black Thorn Pack so shameless?"

"Alpha Randolph refused to see them with the excuse of feeling unwell. If the Alpha of the Black Thorn Pack were smart enough, he should understand that Randolph didn't intend to interfere with his family's affairs anymore. It was said that Jessica cared a lot about you and even told others that she was going to be your mate. Randolph heard about it and felt uneasy. He regretted bringing it up to you." Harrison raised his eyebrows and was clear about how popular Connor was.

  Annette was a little embarrassed.

Harrison felt that it was time to end the topic.

He picked up the wine bottle and was about to fill Annette's glass.

Annette said hurriedly, "Harrison, I'm sorry. I can't drink."

  Harrison looked at Connor.

Connor shrugged, "That's true. I can't take it if she drinks."

Harrison laughed. "Is there anyone in this world that you are afraid of?"

"Yes. I'm afraid that I won't be able to get out of bed."

Annette blushed instantly and glared at Connor. Why did he tell him everything?

Harrison understood. It seemed that Connor came with two purposes. One was to show off to Harrison, and the other was to provoke him.

  They continued drinking and chatting.

Annette didn't drink, so she sat aside drinking fruit juice.

She recalled what Harrison had just said and felt particularly uncomfortable when she heard Jessica was mentioned together with Connor.

Just as Annette was feeling depressed, her phone rang.

She took out her phone and saw that it was Austin.

She stood up and said to Connor and Harrison, "Sorry. I need to get this call."

Annette walked out of the bar and picked up the phone. "Austin."

  "Annette, where are you?"

  "I'm outside."

"No wonder no one responded when I rang your doorbell at the apartment."

Annette was surprised. "Are you back?"

"Yes. I came back yesterday. I finished dealing with the work at the company and came to you." Austin turned to go downstairs. He said, "Where are you? I'll pick you up."

"It's okay. You can continue to handle your work. There's no hurry."

"No. I won't be at ease if I don't see you." Austin insisted.

Annette thought about it. She remembered that there was a shopping mall nearby, so she told him its address.

Austin nodded. "Okay, wait for me there. I may need twenty minutes to get there. I will try to be as fast as possible."

"Don't be in a hurry. Take your time."

Annette hung up the phone and returned to the bar.

Connor and Harrison were still chatting.

Annette walked into the private room and picked up her bag. "Connor, have a good time with Harrison. I have an appointment with someone, and I'll take my leave."

"Is it a man or a woman?" Connor turned to look at her.

  Annette replied, "It is Austin."

Connor said unhappily, "Isn't he on a business trip?"

  "He's back."

Connor thought, 'It seems that I haven't caused enough trouble for Austin. He returned in less than two months.'

Annette said goodbye to Harrison, "Harrison, it's a pleasure to meet you today. You guys go on. I'll go first."

Before Harrison could say anything, Connor stood up and said, "I'll take you there."

"It's OK. The place is not far from here. It's in the nearby shopping center."

"Even if it is close, I have to take you there." Connor said to Harrison, "I'll be back soon."

Harrison shrugged. "Just go. And take your time."

Annette felt that it was not good, but since Connor insisted, she could not say anything more.
