His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 171

Ch. 171 / 264 Apr 07, 2026

Annette glared at Connor and Marcus and said, "I can't be bothered to talk to you guys."

She looked at the photos on the side of the counter.

There was not a single photo of a celebrity, but many old photos instead.

They were all about the same person.

For some reason, Annette felt that the man in the photos was somewhat familiar.

Marcus said, "How is it? The guy in the photo is handsome, right?"

Annette smiled and asked, "Who is he?"

"He is Bartz, my father's younger brother. Back then, he was famous for being handsome in Akron."

Connor asked, "Who do you think is more handsome? Bartz or me?"

"Bartz is more handsome," said Annette.

Connor said angrily, "I'll give you another chance."

Marcus smirked. "Should I go now?"

  They joked and laughed.

Annette looked at the photos with a smile.

She felt it was a little ridiculous. Bartz was from the Blood Moon Pack, and how could she feel familiar with him?

It was probably because of Connor. After all, he looked somewhat similar to Bartz.

On Sunday morning, Connor went to the company for some urgent work.

When Connor finished dealing with his work and was about to leave, Hari knocked on the door and came in.

"Alpha Connor, you asked me to investigate Kate and her illegitimate child. I found some information about them."

Hari walked forward and placed a document on Connor's table.

Connor picked it up and began to flip through it as Hari said, "You will be shocked after you read it."

Connor opened the folder and then sneered.

He closed it and looked at Hari. "I don't want a third person to know about it."

"Alpha Connor, don't worry about it."

When Connor returned home, it was just in time for lunch.

Dwayne went upstairs and asked Annette to go downstairs.

Since Connor was back, Annette walked to the dining table with ease. She asked, "When did you come back?"

"Just two minutes ago. Have a seat. Let's have lunch."

They sat down around the table. Annette only took a few bites and stopped.

  Connor asked, "What happened?"

Annette shrugged and said, "I had too much fruit. I don't have much appetite now."

Connor said, "Don't eat snacks and fruits before a meal."

  Annette nodded.

Connor looked at her blushing face and smiled, "By the way, I have a question for you."

  "What is it?"

"You said that Austin is nice to you. When did your relationship with him become good? Was it always good from the beginning?"

Annette thought about it and shook her head. "No."

  "Did he bully you?"

"Sharon rarely took me to the Black Thorn Pack, so I had little contact with Austin. When I was young, Leslie often bullied Sharon. I still remember that Sharon was working in a coffee shop at that time. Once, when I came back from school, I went to the coffee shop to find her. Coincidentally, Leslie took Austin and Jessica to go shopping that day and bumped into Sharon. She rushed into the coffee shop and pulled Sharon's hair to scold Sharon. At that time, many guests were watching. After I squeezed into the crowd, Leslie pushed me down. That day, Austin was next to me, yet he was just watching the show like Jessica. So, in my memory, there was not a good person in the Black Thorn Pack."

Every time Connor heard Annette mention her childhood, he was angry, and his eyes were filled with killing intent.

"Do you still remember when you started to have a good relationship with Austin?"

Annette frowned and said, "Austin went abroad to study. Once, he came back on vacation and bought a lot of gifts, and visited me and Sharon secretly. He even apologized to Sharon on behalf of Leslie. Since then, he often contacted us.

"Why are you so curious about Austin today?"

Connor sneered and said, "Because I hate him."

He looked at Annette's curious look and decided not to tell her some things for the time being.

Annette smiled resignedly. "Are you that bored? The one who offended you is the Black Thorn Pack, not Austin."

"I don't care. He always seduces you." Connor looked at Annette.

He thought, 'If she found out that Austin was not her brother one day, what would she do? Would she fall in love with him?'

  He said seriously, "Annette."

  "What is it?" Annette said.

"You know that the Blood Moon Pack has a grudge against the Black Thorn Pack. I will take revenge sooner or later. Do you understand?"

Annette nodded. "You don't have to tell me that. I am not a member of the Black Thorn Pack."

"But you care about someone from the Black Thorn Pack, so I think I should respect you and make it clear to you."

"I don't care what the Black Thorn Pack will become. Austin is a capable person. Even without the Black Thorn Pack, he can live a good life."

  Connor didn't refute Annette.

"Many things that you can't imagine will happen next, which is only a part of my revenge. I hope you won't think too much about it. Okay?"

After a moment of silence, Annette said, "Okay."

Connor picked up the cup of water and said, "Good luck to me."

Annette clinked her cup with his.

For some reason, she felt a little uneasy in her heart.

On Saturday, Barbara called Annette and invited her and Connor to have dinner together.

Annette couldn't refuse, so she agreed.

However, when she returned home in the evening, she found out that Connor was going on a business trip on Friday and would be back three days later.

So, she could only go to the Joseph's house alone.

Zachary happened to be at home because he had nothing to do in the mall.

William and Barbara did not know that Annette had been threatened by Jennifer earlier.

On the contrary, Zachary looked worried.

While his parents were busy in the kitchen, he said to Annette, "Annette, in order not to create trouble for you, I will tell William and Barbara that something is going on in my company. I will leave first. Please don't mind it."

Annette was embarrassed. "Zachary, I am sorry. Because of me, you can't even have a meal at home during the weekend."

"It's nothing. I am happy that you can come."

Annette nodded. "By the way, Zachary, if you are free, I want to introduce a friend of mine to you."

Zachary had a headache. "I'm worried that if I started a new relationship now, it will bring disaster to the girl."

Annette understood what Zachary meant. She smiled, "I can do that after your previous relationship completely ends. Is it okay?"

Zachary said with a smile, "Let's talk about it when the time comes. I don't want to start a new relationship now."

He went to the kitchen and told his parents that he was going to work.
