Lucas' eyes darkened. He thought, 'Pregnant?
Annette was indeed good at scheming.'
"Connor, you can keep the child. Leave Annette. If you insist, I will restrain you as your elder brother."
"Are you threatening me?" Connor sneered.
Lucas' tone was unfriendly. "I will never let Bartz's tragedy happen in the Blood Moon Pack again."
"Try it. I will never allow you to change my life again."
Connor ended the mink link.
Lucas' eyes were filled with anger.
Why did Connor choose a woman from the Black Thorn Pack?
It seemed that if Lucas didn't do anything, Connor wouldn't change his mind.
Alina handed Lucas a cup of water when she saw how furious he was.
"Is Connor calling?"
Lucas glanced at her and replied coldly, "Yes."
"Is it because of Annette? What did he say? I heard you mention the child."
As Alina spoke, she gently touched her lower abdomen.
"Annette is pregnant."
Alina was surprised. Pregnant?
Annette was pregnant too?
Alina clenched her fists. Whenever she thought of Connor having sex with Annette, she would feel furious.
Lucas noticed the unnatural look on her face.
He said, "Even if not for her, someone else would give birth to a child for Connor. You should have been prepared for it."
Alina lowered her eyes and said, "I didn't say anything."
"But you thought a lot about it, right?" Lucas drank the water expressionlessly.
Alina frowned and said, "What do you plan to do with Annette and Connor?"
"Annette is pregnant. I'm afraid it will be difficult to deal with her in a short time."
"What is Connor going to do?"
Lucas snorted coldly. "He is now bewitched by Annette and couldn't tell right from wrong. He insists that she is his mate."
Annette was pregnant, and some of the ways to deal with things had to be changed.
Connor stood at the door of the ward for a long time.
When he saw Annette sitting up and getting out of bed, he pushed open the door and walked in.
Annette saw Connor and frowned. "Please go out."
Connor did not respond. He walked forward and said, "What do you need? I'll get it for you."
Annette sat on the bed and covered her belly without saying anything.
Connor asked, "I know you are still angry because of what happened in the afternoon. I love you with all my heart, but what I get is your indifference. Which man do you think can stand it?"
Annette turned her face away from him.
"Annette, do you think I am not good enough for you?"
Annette was conflicted. She did not say that Connor was not good for her.
Connor stepped forward and held her face in anger. He forced her to face him.
"Do you hate it so much by carrying my child?"
Annette said in a fit of pique, "Yes. I just don't want to give birth to your child."
Connor was furious and said angrily, "So do you want to give up this child?"
Annette couldn't say such harsh words.
"Tell me. Do you dare not say that?"
Annette slapped his hand away forcefully. "Why did you force me?"
"I wanted you to express your true feelings and not hide them in your heart."
"Right now, I only want to leave the Blood Moon Pack and you."
"What about the child?" Connor asked, "Don't you want it?"
Annette lowered her head and did not speak.
Connor continued, "Or do you want to give birth and raise the child by yourself?"
She nodded. This was the only way that she could think of.
Connor shook his head and couldn't help but laugh.
Annette didn't want to have an abortion, which eased the frustration in his heart. He bent down and met her gaze.
"Since you don't want to hurt this child, go back to bed and lie down. I was rude to you this afternoon. You need to rest now."
Annette bit the corner of her lips and said shyly, "I need to go to the bathroom."
Connor smiled. He picked her up and said, "Let me help."
Annette was hugged by him gently. In fact, she didn't reject him in her heart.
Connor sent her to the bathroom and was chased out.
After hearing the sound of water, he went in and carried her back to bed.
Annette lay down and turned her back to him. "You can leave now."
"You don't want to see me?"
Annette closed her eyes and said, "Yes."
Connor bent over and hugged her from behind.
"I was wrong this afternoon. I shouldn't have been so impulsive. I promise that I will never do that again. Promise me that you won't give up on me just because of a few words from others, okay?"
"I thought about it carefully."
"Stubborn girl." Connor said in a somewhat reproachful tone, "Do you know how irritating you looked this afternoon?"
Annette was silent.
Connor sighed, "You always have a way to make me out of control. How can you be sure that our child doesn't want me as a father?"
Annette frowned and asked, "Do you think we are suitable to live together? For the Blood Moon Pack, I am Lance's daughter, and I can't cut off my relationship with the Black Thorn Pack."
"What others think is not important. What matters is what I think of you, because I am your mate."
Annette looked back at him. How could he be so persistent?
"Do you think we can be together?"
"Of course."
"Are you willing to be enemies with Lucas because of me?"
Connor smiled and gently stroked Annette's forehead. "You think too much. The problem between me and Lucas is something I should solve. You just have to tell me one thing. Do you want to give the child a family?"
Annette looked conflicted.
"Do you still need time to consider it?"
Annette said, "I want to, but I don't want to be your mate. Connor, to me, the Blood Moon Pack is huge. I'm worried."
"You have me, and no one can hurt you. You should have some faith in me."
"But..."
"Alright, stop rejecting me with excuses. If you could seduce me with the attitude of refusing me, I would have been conquered by you a long time ago."
Connor sat up and said seriously, "You are my mate. We will not separate."
Annette was speechless.
This time, she could not refuse Connor.
She knew better than anyone how much a child from a single-parent family would suffer when growing up.
She didn't want her child to go through that as she did.
Annette stayed in the hospital for two days and was brought home by Connor on the third day.
Since she needed more rest, Connor had someone go to school to ask for sick leave for her.
Annette was unwilling to give up working. However, she knew that her current condition was indeed not suitable for work.
In the morning, when Connor had just gone to work, Dwayne went upstairs to knock on the door.
"Ms. Hall, Ms. Grace is here and wants to see you."
Annette stared at the door and had a headache.
