After Annette left, Judica came over to Darren and stomped in anger. "Dad, I'm so pissed off."
Darren looked at Judica and warned her, "Judica, behave yourself."
"Why did Alpha Connor choose a rogue when there were so many fine women fighting over him?"
Darren mocked, "Just wait and see. It's not easy being the Blood Moon Pack's Luna. There are a lot of people out there who can't wait to plot against her. When Alpha Connor is done with her, you can get back at her however you like."
Judica frowned and asked, "So, I can only wait now?"
Darren leaned close to her ear and said, "You should find a chance and run into Jessica. I heard that she is dumb and easily manipulated. You don't have to do everything on your own. You should learn how to use others to reach your goal. Understand?"
Judica realized something and looked at Darren. She said happily, "Dad, you are awesome."
Annette caught up with the three teachers.
Just as she was about to apologize, her phone rang.
It was Connor. So, she went to the side to pick up the phone.
"Did you see the message I just sent you? I'm not going home for dinner tonight."
Connor said unhappily, "Where are you going to eat?"
"My colleagues are very happy to see me back. They suggested dinner together, so I'm going to invite them to a buffet."
Connor immediately said, "It's on me. Take them to Leonard's car later and tell Leonard to bring you to me."
Annette put her phone back into her bag and walked back to the three teachers.
"Guys, I'm sorry for what happened. You didn't deserve that."
Alanna said angrily, "Annette, don't apologize. What did that have to do with you? It was Judica, that crazy woman. She said nothing but nonsense."
Eden and Sara both nodded and said, "Alanna is right."
Annette smiled and said, "By the way, I want to talk to you about something."
Annette said embarrassedly, "Connor knows I'm having dinner with you, and he wants to join us. Do you mind?"
The three looked at her in a daze, and no one spoke.
Annette quickly added, "If you're uncomfortable with it, I'll tell him not to come."
Alanna excitedly grabbed Annette's hand and said excitedly, "If I hadn't known you, I never would have dined with such a big shot."
After Alanna finished speaking, she looked down at her clothes and said in disgust, "I should have dressed up."
Sara felt speechless for a second. Then she grinned and said, "Alanna, it doesn't matter how dressed up you are. Alpha Connor has a mate."
Sara looked at Annette and asked, "Annette, is it OK for us to have dinner with Alpha Connor?"
Annette thought about it and said, "As long as it's OK with you guys."
She pulled the three to the door and got into Leonard's car.
Alanna looked around in the car and then whispered to Sara at her side, "This is the most expensive ride I've ever had in my life."
Leonard drove the four to the restaurant that Connor had informed him of in advance.
Alanna was a little nervous as she said, "Will we be allowed in while dressing like this?"
Annette said, "Don't worry. Let's go."
They were led in by a waiter.
Connor was already here.
Alanna, Sara, and Eden were obviously a bit nervous when they saw Connor.
Connor got up and walked to Annette's side. He naturally wrapped his arm around her waist and said, "Welcome. Please take a seat."
The three looked at each other, not knowing where to sit.
Annette said, "Guys, sit wherever you want."
They sat down, and the waiter brought menus for everyone.
The three looked at the prices on the menu, and none of them dared to order.
Even Annette was stunned when she saw the prices.
She handed the menu to Connor and said, "Maybe you should order."
Connor asked the three, and then he quickly finished ordering.
Connor asked Annette, "How are you feeling today? Are you tired?"
Annette was afraid that he would say something that gave her away, so she hurriedly said, "My stomach is fine now. I'm not tired."
Connor thought, 'Stomach?
I guess she didn't tell others about the baby.
But if she doesn't tell them, they won't take care of her especially.
I see. She doesn't want to be treated specially.'
Connor raised his glass and said to the three, "Everyone, I'm here today, because I want a favor from you."
Annette looked at him, not knowing what he was going to say.
Eden said, "Alpha Connor, feel free to tell us. We will do what we can."
Alanna hurriedly nodded. Her voice trembled a little as she said, "He is right."
Connor raised the corners of his mouth and said, "Annette's stomach..."
Annette interrupted him loudly, "My stomach is fine."
Connor held back his laughter when he saw her like this.
"Annette's stomach is kind of delicate. I hope you can take care of her in school on my behalf."
Alanna immediately said, "Don't worry, Alpha Connor."
Eden nodded.
Sara said, "I can help her with her work."
Annette blushed.
Connor nodded. "If she's in any danger or being bullied, please call me."
Alanna quickly said, "Then what happened earlier..."
"Alanna," Annette said and stopped Alanna.
Annette got up and poured a glass of water for Alanna.
"Didn't you say you were thirsty? Drink up."
Connor figured that something had happened earlier.
Yet he didn't ask further.
After dinner, Connor asked Leonard to send the three home one by one.
Meanwhile, Connor took Annette into his car.
On the way, Annette said, "You freaked me out today. I was afraid you'd say something."
"I was going to ask you something. Why didn't you tell others that you were pregnant? A few months later, you'll be showing, and you think you can still fool them?"
Annette said unhappily, "The baby caught me off guard. I haven't figured out how to tell them yet. I need time to get used to being a mom."
"That's not the only identity you have to get used to," he said grimly. "You're my mate, and that is your priority."
She whispered, "I know. Don't rush me. I'm trying."
After they went back to the Blood Moon Pack, Connor sent Annette upstairs to rest.
He said he had some work to do and left.
Not suspecting anything, Annette went to the bathroom to take a shower and then was ready to rest.
Connor went downstairs and called Hari.
Soon after, Hari gave him Alanna's number.
He dialed Alanna's number.
Alanna was stunned when she received Connor's call. She said, "Alpha Connor, what can I do for you?"
"You were interrupted at the dinner table tonight. Did something happen before you arrived?"
"Something did happen today," Alanna said, feeling in a dilemma. "But since Annette stopped me, I don't think she wanted me to tell you. Perhaps she was afraid you would worry."
"If it had nothing to do with Annette, then you don't need to tell me. Otherwise, you should."
