Annette put down the book and said, "Dwayne, please let Ms. Grace in."
The door opened and Alina walked in.
She walked to the bedside with a smile.
"Ms. Hall, I heard that you were pregnant, so I came to visit you."
Annette smiled, "Thank you."
Alina turned around and said to Dwayne, "Dwayne, leave us. I will stay here with Ms. Hall for a while."
Dwayne closed the door respectfully and left.
Alina sat down by the bed and said kindly, "I did not expect you to be pregnant. Ms. Hall, we can go for a prenatal checkup together from now on."
Annette smiled and did not say anything.
Alina patted Annette's hand and said, "I always thought that Connor was a self-disciplined person and would always take precautions. I didn't expect that you would have to pay for his mistake."
Annette looked at her in confusion.
"Lucas was angry when he heard that you were a member of the Black Thorn Pack. He wanted to separate you from Connor, but now you are pregnant. Lucas believes that you must get pregnant with Connor's child on purpose."
Annette frowned and kept silent.
Alina comforted her, "Don't think too much about it. We all know how Connor is, so..."
Alina hesitated and asked, "Ms. Hall, are you really Lance's daughter? I have been suspicious these days and think that you have nothing to do with Lance."
Annette said, "I do have nothing to do with him."
Alina was pleasantly surprised. "Lucas misunderstood. You're not a member of the Black Thorn Pack, right?"
"Lance is my father, but I will never acknowledge him. He doesn't deserve to be my father."
Annette clenched her fists.
Seeing Annette's reaction, Alina raised her eyebrows imperceptibly.

It was as if Alina was provoking Annette.
Annette took a deep breath, hoping that she was worrying too much.
"Ms. Grace, I understand what you mean, but there are things I can't decide. You should know how overbearing Connor is and understand my difficulties."
They met each other's eyes.
Alina smiled, "Dwayne just told me that the doctor asked you to rest more, so I won't disturb you anymore."
Annette nodded. "Thank you for visiting me. I can't send you off because of my current condition."
"Ms. Hall, never mind. I mean to come and visit you. Have a good rest."
After Alina left, Annette lay down again. She turned over, her heart full of worries.
If she left Connor, would all her worries be gone?
However, Connor was a persistent bastard. How would he let her go?
Alina went downstairs and was not in a hurry to leave. Instead, she dialed Marcus' number.
Marcus' hearty voice sounded on the phone. "Alina, do you have any instructions?"
"I'm in Connor's villa. Do you want to have a meal with me?"
"I'm afraid I can't do it today. I'm busy at the bar."
He seemed to think of something and said, "Did Lucas go back with you? Is he going to make trouble for Annette?"
"No, I came to visit Ms. Hall alone."
Marcus said guiltily, "I put Annette in such big trouble. I dare not to see her."
"It's not your fault. You didn't do it on purpose. Besides, we will know it sooner or later."
"If I didn't say it, no one else would know."
Alina was puzzled. "I don't understand why Ms. Hall is unwilling to admit that she is related to the Black Thorn Pack."

A strange smile appeared on Alina's face.

When Connor returned, Annette was asleep on the bed.
