Destined by One Night: The CEO's Pursuit

Chapter 91

Ch. 91 / 281 Apr 07, 2026

Velma, Sandra, and another girl were walking toward Sergio and Marilyn. The three of them were dressed very fashionably.

Sergio's face darkened.

Were they the three new employees yesterday?

If so, things would get interesting.

"Sergio." Velma ignored Marilyn and smiled gently at Dominic.

"You..." Sergio looked at the three of them with a puzzled look.

Velma smiled sweetly, "Sergio, we were hired yesterday." Then, she looked at Marilyn provokingly.

She would definitely teach Marilyn a lesson.

Sergio narrowed his eyes.

He said coldly, "This is Ms. Chapman. She is your boss from now on."

Velma and Sandra looked at each other. They did not greet Marilyn.

The girl behind them was wearing a white dress. She had long hair and looked cute and innocent. She walked in front of Marilyn with a smile. "Hello, Ms. Chapman! I'm Suzanne Beck, in charge of fabric."

Suzanne smiled very cautiously.

She reminded Marilyn of the years Marilyn had spent in the Chambers family.

Marilyn smiled back and said, "Hello, Ms. Beck."

Then, Marilyn smiled at Sergio. "Sergio, Excuse me, I have a meeting now."

"Go to the conference room on the 23rd floor, we'll have a meeting," Marilyn said to Suzanne.

With that, Marilyn walked to her office.

Velma and Sandra looked at Marilyn's back with a strange look.

"Ms. Remington, Ms. Chambers, you're not allowed to come to this floor," Sergio warned.

Velma smiled and nodded. "Sergio..."

"Please call me Mr. Bowman," Sergio corrected Velma with a cold face.

Velma froze, and she clutched the black backpack in her hand tightly.

"Mr. Bowman, I will abide by the company's rules," Velma said with difficulty. She didn't expect that Sergio would do this to her.

Billie was sitting on Marilyn's desk, looking at her own phone.

As Marilyn came in, Billie immediately put away her phone with a nervous expression.

Marilyn noticed that her desk was empty. She glanced at Billie coldly.

Marilyn became angry, but she tried to hold it back. Instead, she smiled and asked, "Billie, where is the information for the meeting?"

Billie avoided eye contact with Marilyn. "Ms. Chapman, I forgot to bring it back when I got off work last night, so..."

"So, you haven't finished your work?" Marilyn interrupted her calmly.

Billie nodded.

Marilyn took a deep breath.

It was only five minutes before the meeting.

Marilyn walked to her computer, turned it on, and quickly browsed the topic she had to talk about in the meeting.

Seeing this, Billie kept quiet. She was very nervous because she had done it on purpose.

She had prepared to lie to Marilyn, but Marilyn did not blame her.

Billie had thought Marilyn would yell at her.

She was envious that Marilyn had become the director so easily.

Billie had worked hard here for a few years. After Hannah finally left the company, Billie had a chance. But Marilyn came back from the branch company and became the director.

Billie refused to accept the truth.

Marilyn quickly browsed through all the topics in her mind. She turned off the computer and walked out of the office without looking at Billie.

Billie was flustered and she followed behind Marilyn.

"Ms. Chapman..."

Marilyn turned around and looked at Billie coldly. She knew that Billie had done it on purpose.

Marilyn sneered and said seriously, "Billie, remember, you are not working for me. You are working for the Lowe Group.

"It's your job. Before I got off work yesterday, I told you to prepare the information for this meeting. But you said you had forgotten about it. Don't forget that you get paid by the Lowe Group."

After Marilyn finished speaking, she walked towards the elevator. She stood very straight.

Billie stood in place, looking at Marilyn's back at a loss.

What Marilyn said was right. Billie knew she had made a very stupid mistake.

Standing opposite them, Sergio had seen everything.

Suzanne followed Marilyn.

But Velma and Sandra didn't move.

Sergio retracted his gaze and glanced at Velma and Sandra. "Your boss has gone to the meeting room. It's your first day at work. Do you want to be late?"

"Marilyn is just a director. It's not a big deal." Sandra couldn't stand Marilyn's indifferent and arrogant look.

After Marilyn left, Sandra spoke without thinking.

When Sergio heard this, he frowned slightly and mocked, "Marilyn is the design director. I have to rely on her new products to keep my job. So, if you want to quit," Sergio pointed at the elevator, "take the elevator and get lost immediately. The sight of you makes me sick."

"Mr. Bowman, you..." Sandra looked at Sergio and felt a strong sense of humiliation. Damn Sergio, why was he so stubborn?

Sandra was confident about herself. She was pretty, sexy, and rich. She was much better than Marilyn!

But why did Sergio dislike her? Every time Sandra met Sergio, she would receive humiliation.

Velma did not say anything. She turned around and walked to the elevator.

She could not stir up trouble now.

Sergio walked towards Billie. Malcolm was not here. Now Sergio was in charge.

"What's going on? You're Ms. Chapman's assistant. She went to the meeting. Why are you standing here?" Sergio said in a cold voice. He narrowed his eyes and looked serious.

"I..." Billie wanted to say something but hesitated. She looked up at Sergio with grievance and defended herself, "Sergio, I didn't prepare the meeting information that Ms. Chapman wanted. She said it very vaguely yesterday, and I didn't understand what she meant ... So..."
