Destined by One Night: The CEO's Pursuit

Chapter 116

Ch. 116 / 281 Apr 07, 2026

She had always known what friendship and love were. But why couldn't she do this these days?

Debbie took a deep breath. She found Marilyn remained noble and elegant even though on her body were cheap clothes. Each of her movements showed her innate charm.

Usually, Debbie would like this type of girl, but she would feel a string of repulsion when she saw Marilyn.

Debbie would not be nice to someone taking advantage of her. Now she was wandering the relationship between Marilyn and Malcolm.

She felt more repulsion against Marilyn if she couldn't figure it out.

Velma stared at her with anger and went upstairs.

Looking at the luxurious and dazzling room, she put on a faint smile. Money could take away everything bad in her heart, especially her inferiority. So, she wouldn't let Carolyn return to this house.

She thought, "Fortunately, Marilyn is not Carolyn."

If Marilyn was, she would definitely kill Marilyn. Since she couldn't get the things she wanted, she wouldn't allow Marilyn to get them.

She was born to live in the rich Remington family.

As Velma thought about this, she felt excited.

"Jacob, are you okay these days? Is Denise still bothering you?"

As she passed by Arturo's room, Velma suddenly heard Darren's voice.

"No, she never called again after she called me two days ago. Probably she won't call me again." Jacob's disappointed voice sounded painful.

Velma then knew why Jacob had looked down recently. It was because of his girlfriend.

She frowned slightly. Denise? This name was very familiar.

"It would be the best. It would be even better if she didn't call you anymore. Mom doesn't allow you to marry her. So you just forget it. If she continues to see you, I'll talk to her for you."

"Enough. That is not what you think. Darren, why are you the same as our mother?" Jacob's uncontrollable roar echoed in the room.

Even Velma was shocked.

"Jacob..."

"Get out!" Jacob's cold voice scared her.

Velma turned around and left when she heard the heavy footsteps.

She quickly went downstairs and found that her mother was not in the living room.

She quickly rushed out and made a phone call to ask for Denise's address. She went to the garage to get her car and went straight to Denise's barbecue stall.

Just like Denise didn't want to see Jacob have a happy life, Jacob also didn't want to see her happy. Velma still remembered that Jacob was so cold when she tried to comfort him. He said coldly, "It's my business, not yours."

Jacob had always loved her and seldom spoke harsh words to her. But now he would speak to her strangely.

Velma drove directly to the opposite side of the Warren family's barbecue stall.

Now Malcolm, Marilyn, and Dominic were also here.

The sound of Velma closing the car door caught Marilyn's attention.

Marilyn had a bad feeling when she saw Velma and glanced at the barbecue stall.

She glanced at Malcolm and Dominic, "Dominic, we'll eat at the barbecue stall opposite. They have already opened the stall. You and Malcolm go to the supermarket opposite to get some drinks. Bring me Diet Coke. I will go and order first."

Dominic nodded and looked at Malcolm.

Malcolm also smiled and nodded. "Alright! Lynn, we will be back soon."

"Alright!" Marilyn smiled and nodded, her focus already on Denise.

As soon as Malcolm and Dominic turned around, she chased after Velma.

After a while, Malcolm and Dominic stopped at the same time. Looking back, they saw Marilyn rushing across the road.

Malcolm smiled at Dominic and asked, "Dominic, why did you stop?"

Dominic glanced at Malcolm who seemed to understand everything. He smiled, "Malcolm, didn't you stop as well?"

Malcolm smiled evilly and said, "Your mother was obviously trying to get us out of the way."

"Yes! There are a lot of beverages in barbecue stalls. We don't need to go to the supermarket to buy them. Why don't we follow her and see what is going on? Her anxious face showed that she was very worried."

Hearing this, Malcolm nodded in agreement. "Dominic, I think so. Let's go!"

He held Dominic's little hand and stepped forward elegantly, his innate noble temperament attracting a lot of attention.

Dominic suddenly stopped and looked at Malcolm with his arms crossed when they were about to cross the road.

Malcolm looked at him and smiled, "Dominic, what are you doing?"

Dominic frowned slightly and said faintly, "Malcolm, why do I feel like you are here to snatch my girl?" He walked for a long time before he reacted.

Malcolm was speechless.

"Kid, what do you mean?" Malcolm was somewhat anxious. How could Lynn be his girl?

Dominic calmly said, "Since you want to pursue my mother, you're trying to take away my girl. She is our girl, the most important girl. Why should we allow you to pursue her?" Dominic said quickly.

Malcolm's heart was heavy as if a heavy hammer suddenly smashed into his chest.

Dominic had agreed to help him! But why did he suddenly go back on his word?

"Dominic, you are not loyal. You can't do this.

"Besides, don't you want a father?"

The last sentence went a little bit too far.

"No! It's enough for us to have our mother and a grandma. Besides, we don't know who our father is. What's the point of finding one?"

Malcolm was slightly stunned. It turned out that they had never thought of looking for their father...

Malcolm suddenly felt bad.

He wanted to say that he was their father!

However, it was not the right time. So it would only backfire if he said that.

Malcolm took a deep breath and maintained his gentle smile. "Dominic, let's put this aside. You can't go back on your promise!"

As the high-spirited boss, the promising CEO of the Lowe Group, he believed that he would win the support of his son.

Dominic said with a smile, "Of course! I am a man. I mean what I say. But why do I feel that you have bad intentions towards my mother?"

"Bad intentions?" Malcolm was rather helpless. Did he show that?

Why did Dominic say that? He felt an indescribable feeling of unease.

And of course, he was rather sad. After all, his son treated him as a bad guy.

"Yes! Mom is right. Why are you pursuing a married woman?" Dominic looked at him with a serious gaze.
