Destined by One Night: The CEO's Pursuit

Chapter 55

Ch. 55 / 281 Apr 07, 2026

The dishes were served but Malcolm didn't try any of them.

Sitting opposite Malcolm, Sergio tasted them gracefully and checked his phone from time to time, as if no one else was around.

Through the hollowed-out partition, Malcolm could watch Marilyn and Roland closely. Malcolm's angular face darkened and grew terrifying.

Malcolm acted as if someone had snatched his treasure.

"Eat! You have no reason to do anything, no matter how mad you are." Malcolm heard Sergio's tepid voice.

Malcolm collected his thoughts and looked at Sergio indifferently. However, Sergio's words reminded him. Malcolm forced a smile, got up elegantly, and walked towards Marilyn.

Marilyn and Roland were chatting happily.

Suddenly, a black shadow cast over Marilyn and she looked up. Under the warm light, Malcolm wore a charming smile on his perfect face. His dark deep eyes and the unfathomable look in his eyes added to his mischievousness.

"Mr. Lowe!" Marilyn sounded a bit surprised and wondered why Malcolm was here.

"Lynn, what a coincidence," Malcolm said in a low voice and glanced at Roland from the corner of his eyes. As Roland's expression turned gloomy, a tinge of pleasure of revenge flashed through Malcolm's eyes.

Malcolm knew that it was because he called Marilyn Lynn.

"Mr. Lowe, are you here for dinner too?" Marilyn asked with a polite smile.

Malcolm could tell that the way she smiled at him was different from that at Roland.

She smiled happily and sincerely at Roland while the smile on her face now was out of courtesy.

With this thought, Malcolm faked a smile and sneered.

It turned out that Marilyn had turned Malcolm down for dinner with Roland.

"Lynn, we agreed to have dinner together. Why did you get off work without waiting for me?" Malcolm asked flatly, others found a deeper meaning to it.

Malcolm looked deeply into Marilyn's calm eyes. With this eye contact, his unrestrained temperament was on full display.

Marilyn glared at him, thinking when she had agreed to that.

Marilyn was about to speak but Malcolm said, "Lynn, I've been too busy to remember things. It's tomorrow night."

With that, Malcolm sat next to Marilyn with composure.

The sofa chair was long. Marilyn was slender and looked petite next to Malcolm.

When Roland saw this, his gaze turned cold.

"Lynn, he is..." Roland's tone hardened as he looked at Malcolm.

Roland knew Malcolm, but Malcolm's behavior was strange.

Marilyn's face darkened, and she moved slightly further from Malcolm.

Malcolm noticed her reaction and glanced at her. Anxiety was written all over her face.

Marilyn looked up at Roland and said, "Roland, he's president of the Lowe Group. Mr. Lowe, this is Roland."

"Lynn, I've heard of him. He is the richest man in Goldmere, the president of the Harrison Group. Nice to meet you, Mr. Harrison!" Malcolm looked at Roland with a phony smile.

"Mr. Lowe, nice to meet you, too!" Roland stretched out his hand for a handshake. Under the light, his alabaster and slender fingers were noticeable.

Malcolm smiled and unhurriedly shook it gently with his rather bony hand.

Roland's and Malcolm's eyes met and gleamed with the same emotions, which might spark off a row. And both were arrogant and deep.

More than that, it showed anger between love rivals.

The atmosphere instantly became oppressive and strange.

Malcolm withdrew his hand, looked at Marilyn, and asked with a smile, "Lynn, you and Mr. Harrison seem to have a good relationship. Have you known each other for a long time?"

Malcolm sounded very relaxed as if he was closer to Marilyn than Roland.

Marilyn looked at Malcolm with her clear eyes.

"Why does Malcolm become so strange all of a sudden?" she wondered.

Marilyn looked composed, but she was sensitive by nature and got alert.

Roland was furious at Malcolm's intimate actions and tone. It was what a man would do to his girlfriend. His eyes swept past Marilyn's expressionless face and suddenly fell on Malcolm, who was smiling.

Roland said with deep affection, "Mr. Lowe, Lynn and I have known each other for a long time. She is my girlfriend!"

Marilyn and Malcolm were speechless at Roland's jaw-dropping remarks.

But there was a difference. Goggling at Roland, Marilyn was more than shocked.

Malcolm, on the other hand, had an angry and cold expression on his face.

Roland had been refraining himself until Malcolm came.

Only then did Malcolm feel that what he had done was impulsive, which just helped Roland.

But there was no other way. Today, Malcolm knew that Marilyn was his son's mother, and she was very likely to be Carolyn. He didn't allow her to flirt with other men.

Roland looked at Malcolm's face and felt the pleasure of revenge. No one could take Marilyn away from Roland.

Malcolm was not interested in women but suddenly acted intimately with Marilyn.

Anyone could tell that Marilyn was a dazzling pearl.

Roland smiled, "Mr. Lowe, my girlfriend is shy." He meant that Malcolm should keep some distance from Marilyn.

Roland, in fact, was simmering with rage, since Malcolm was serious about his feelings for Marilyn.

Marilyn looked at Roland again, but Roland had a bright smile and stared at Malcolm intently rather than her.

She had this feeling that Roland wouldn't be easier on Malcolm if Malcolm did not move.

Roland was cold, aloof, and domineering. Though Roland looked like a gentleman, his aura was not inferior to Malcolm's.

Things were a little intense, and even Sergio sitting afar felt nervous.

The silent Malcolm was fuming!

As Malcolm looked up slightly, his eyes lit up and his face was calm. His abnormal response surprised Sergio.

Malcolm said evenly, "Lynn, so Mr. Harrison is your boyfriend. I thought he was Arturo's..."

Malcolm held back on purpose. Malcolm emphasized the word "boyfriend".

Of course, what Malcolm didn't say in the end astonished Roland.

Roland should have held his tongue. Arturo was a model of Roland's company.

Now Roland was literally telling Malcolm that Marilyn was unmarried.

Roland was so mad at himself!

However, what was done was done.

Roland and Malcolm met for the first time. Roland had thought he would have the upper hand in the rivalry. However, in the end, Malcolm won.
