Destined by One Night: The CEO's Pursuit

Chapter 71

Ch. 71 / 281 Apr 07, 2026

She stood there in a daze, her mind echoing Malcolm's words, "Because, it can only be you!"

As the elevator door opened, Marilyn recovered from the daze. Malcolm held her hand and walked to the car.

Marilyn was still immersed in that sentence. She even forgot to refuse Malcolm's actions but followed his footsteps dully.

It was not until she got into the car and Malcolm fastened her seat belt that the strong hormone that lingered around her nose suddenly took her back to reality.

She looked up and her eyes met a pair of deep black eyes, which suddenly filled her with nervousness. She instantly felt that his gaze was like a shackle that had firmly locked her up and left no way to escape!

Malcolm could see that she was nervous, but he merely curled his lips and did not say anything. His fair fingers smoothly held the steering wheel as he drove off the parking lot.

Along the way, they did not say a word.

Marilyn didn't know what to say to Malcolm.

While Malcolm was too excited to say.

He was too excited that the girl next to him was the warmth in his memories, the bits and pieces of warmth that accompanied him all the way until now. With the beautiful memories she gave him, he was no longer lonely.

When they arrived at the Fiesta Hotel, the sky had already darkened and the banquet was about to begin.

Standing at the entrance of the hotel looking at the dazzling neon words, Marilyn felt mixed feelings in her mind.

After seven years, her body still trembled when she saw these words.

She still remembered that crazy night!

If not for that unforgettable night, how could she know who she was?

Marilyn took a deep breath. She was no longer the Marilyn Chambers seven years ago. She was now Marilyn Chapman.

Marilyn looked behind her. Malcolm went to park the car and had not returned yet.

Waiting at the entrance, she took out her phone. She opened Line to take a look and found that Roland had sent her a Line message, saying that he would be waiting for her outside the hotel at eleven o'clock.

The corners of her lips curved into a warm and gentle smile. Under the contrast of her clear, slanted black eyes, she looked even more beautiful.

Her light pink and moist lips were like the perfect artwork, silently tempting people to kiss.

Malcolm had always known that she was a beauty since he was a child.

He walked towards her and carefully studied her appearance.

So beautiful!

The more he looked, the more he considered her beautiful!

"Lynn, let's go in," He said slowly in a pleasant voice.

He habitually went to hold Marilyn's hand, but Marilyn quickly took a step back. Her bright big eyes looked at Malcolm with a smile on her lips, "Mr. Lowe, after you!"

In such a crowd-gathering place, she did not want others to know they knew each other.

Malcolm glanced at her deeply and turned around before he walked forward straight and gracefully.

Only then did Marilyn follow behind him in peace.

Everything in the hotel was as resplendent as she remembered. The only difference was that the potted plants inside had grown much taller.

All the way into the elevator, Malcolm directly pressed the button of the fifth floor, on which they were going to change their dress.

The banquet was on the top floor, and Marilyn had been there before. It was very luxurious. The people who came were all people from the upper class, the big shots of the business world.

The organizer of this banquet was the Lowe family. Guillermo was in charge of it. The Lowe Group was the leading enterprise of Fielddell. People from all walks of life had come to support them, meantime to exchange business information. It was no doubt that it would be a lively banquet.

Marilyn had been looking straight ahead. From the reflection in the elevator, she gazed at Malcolm warily.

In the past few years of work, she had already nurtured a capable and mature aura. Every move of hers was elegant and charming!

Seeing Marilyn being so alert to him, Malcolm felt defeated. Was he a flirtatious guy to Marilyn?

When they reached the fifth floor, Malcolm went out of the elevator.

Marilyn kept a distance and followed Malcolm.

With her head down, Marilyn was flustered as soon as they reached the fifth floor. The memory of that unbearable night kept tormenting her.

"Lynn, here we are. Go in and change first. I'll wait for you outside."

A deep and pleasant voice sounded. Marilyn quickly focused and looked up. She saw room 511.

Her face instantly turned pale and she quickly retreated.

Why would it be? The room that had destroyed all her dreams!

Malcolm felt a sharp pain in his heart when he saw her pained look.

He just wanted to see how she would react when she came to this room again.

He had never thought that she would be in such pain!

"Lynn, are you alright?" Malcolm fixed his eyes on Marilyn's face.

Marilyn suddenly looked at him and shook her head.

Then she retracted her gaze and looked at the words "511". With her fists slightly clenched, she thought, "Marilyn, this is all in the past. If you face the past bravely, you will have a beautiful future. That night, it did not only bring you pain but also the three babies, those who gave you courage every day."

With trembling hands, Marilyn opened the door and entered calmly.

At the look at her slender back, Malcolm felt that it was killing him.

It was indeed her that night!

Thank God! He had met Carolyn again seven years ago.

Even though at that time, he did not recognize her.

"Lynn, it's not too late now, is it?" Malcolm muttered to himself, and the corners of his mouth curled into a mischievous smile.

At this time, the door of room 512 opened, and Julian and Sergio walked out. Surprisingly, Terence was also there.

The three handsome men were all dressed in expensive hand-made couture. Every move of them fully showed the noble and elegant temperament of the upper class.

The four were the most well-known buddies in Fielddell!

They got the back of each other no matter what!

Back then when Malcolm wanted to build up his own business, they had supported him a lot.

"Wow, Malcolm, you're finally here. I've called you countless times. Why didn't you pick up my call? I didn't offend you recently, right?" Terence grumbled. He had lost contact with Malcolm since that day Malcolm called and said he wanted the villa.

Terence thought that he must have offended Malcolm that day.

Malcolm glanced at him but directly walked into the room without a word.

Sergio asked with a frown, "Terence, what have you done to Malcolm?"

Terence looked at him with a face full of injustice and said angrily, "I have no idea! If I knew, I wouldn't have been depressed for so many days."
