Chapter 64

Ch. 64 / 281 Apr 07, 2026

When Velma heard that, she was quite dissatisfied, but she dared not say anything else.

"Mom, it's okay. We are not in a hurry. We will talk about it when Malcolm is in a good mood." Velma pretended to be considerate and smiled gently.

Debbie was immersed in her grief and nodded perfunctorily.

Velma bit her lower lip. This morning, they came here because they wanted Malcolm to announce that they were engaged at tonight's banquet. This way, no other woman would dare to have any thoughts about Malcolm.

But it seemed Velma overestimated Debbie. Velma had thought that Malcolm would respect Debbie for Carolyn's sake.

However, Malcolm was unmoved.

This morning, when they heard that Malcolm was here, they rushed over.

However, Velma had once again missed this opportunity.

What was even worse was that Velma saw Malcolm, who had never touched women, actually holding Marilyn's hand.

Velma was afraid that she couldn't marry Malcolm.

In this way, everything Velma had done would go to waste.

Velma helped Debbie, who felt sullen, to leave.

In the elevator, Malcolm still refused to let Marilyn go.

Marilyn frowned at his strange actions and said angrily, "Mr. Lowe, you have a girlfriend. If you do this, she will misunderstand and we will be in trouble. Please let go of my hand."

It was already annoying enough to deal with Debbie and Velma.

Marilyn didn't want to irritate Carolyn, or she would have a hard time.

"There must be something wrong with Malcolm!

Is he making things difficult for me?

Otherwise, he wouldn't cause me trouble again and again."

However, Malcolm was still staring at her, not letting go of her hand.

Malcolm looked at Marilyn deeply. She was very similar to the young Carolyn.

Even Malcolm had discovered it. Why couldn't Debbie see it?

Maybe Debbie only cared about Velma and had forgotten about Carolyn.

"Do you want to look for your family?"

Malcolm's words were straight to the point.

Marilyn suddenly raised her eyes and looked at Malcolm's handsome face. His expression was very complicated. She tried but was unable to see through his real thoughts at this moment.

Marilyn nodded subconsciously. "Yes, I came back this time because I wanted to find my parents. However, I lost a part of my memory, and..."

Marilyn suddenly stopped talking and looked at Malcolm in disbelief.

Later, Marilyn realized that something was wrong.

"How did you know?" Marilyn suddenly widened her eyes and looked at Malcolm. She felt that Malcolm was so scared. He knew that she was Marilyn Chambers.

Only Roland, Jeannie, and her mother knew about it.

Even the Chamberses didn't know about it.

"Because I'm Malcolm." Malcolm's smile was evil and arrogant. He looked cold.

The reason Malcolm gave was domineering!

But Marilyn wondered when he knew her identity and when he investigated.

"When did you know?" Marilyn looked at him in confusion and surprise.

Marilyn became nervous.

Malcolm looked at Marilyn's startled expression and raised his eyebrows in satisfaction.

"Lynn, I have found out the identity and background of everyone in my company.

"The Chambers family met you twice and said that you were Marilyn Chambers. Therefore, I have to find out if it's true.

"But don't worry. I won't tell the Chambers family about it." Although Malcolm was smiling and it sounded like he was joking, Marilyn trusted his words from the bottom of her heart.

"Thank you!" Marilyn's tone was weak and indifferent.

Marilyn thought that she had concealed it well, but she didn't expect Malcolm to see through her.

"Lynn, you're welcome!" Malcolm's tone carried a strong feeling, and it sounded sincere.

Marilyn's heart gave a sudden leap. Malcolm calling her Lynn evoked a different and strong feeling in her heart. It was familiar and somewhat distressing.

Marilyn glanced at Malcolm's burning gaze and quickly withdrew her gaze. She suppressed the oddest feeling and tried to calm down.

Malcolm slowly looked away. He pressed the elevator button and went to the underground parking lot.

Marilyn frowned and asked, "Mr. Lowe, I should go back to work."

Malcolm smiled slightly and looked at Marilyn with an evil smile. He said in a low voice, "Lynn, you don't have to go to work today. I'll take you to a hair salon to do your hair."

"Do my hair?" Marilyn looked Malcolm up and down. She had just washed her hair in the morning, so there was no need to do it.

"Mr. Lowe, I will do it myself. You don't have to send me there." If Marilyn did go to the hair salon with Malcolm, the intimacy between them would grow.

Hearing her obvious rejection, Malcolm couldn't help but frown, and a cold look appeared on his face.

Malcolm had been a cold man, and the minute changes in his expression could bring people around him a dense chill. Even his voice sounded icy. "Why? Can't I send you there?"

Malcolm had never accompanied any woman to do hair, but he was willing to go with Marilyn. Because Marilyn was Carolyn, who he had been engaged to since he was a child. He had always wanted to love Carolyn and care for her heart and soul.

Marilyn looked at Malcolm's gradually cold look and could not help but tremble slightly.

Malcolm was unpredictable. Marilyn had long heard of his personality, but if she hadn't experienced it, she wouldn't have believed it.

Now from Marilyn's personal experience, she could feel how terrifying Malcolm was.

Marilyn calmed herself down and replied, "Mr. Lowe, that's not what I meant. I was thinking that you had too many things to do. I'd better not bother you."

Marilyn spoke politely, trying her best to speak in a perfect manner.

Marilyn always felt that Malcolm had been behaving strangely.

Malcolm looked at her and smiled meaningfully. "I will always have time for you, Lynn," he said.

Everything Malcolm had done was to wait for Carolyn to come back to him.

Even though Malcolm hadn't completely proved that Marilyn was Carolyn, in his heart, he was sure that she was indeed Carolyn. This feeling had never been so strong before.

Marilyn was slightly dumbfounded. She was puzzled by his words.

Marilyn forced a smile and said in a cold tone, "Mr. Lowe, these words are improper. I am a married woman. You are making me embarrassed."

Marilyn believed that Malcolm was most likely driven mad by Debbie.

"A married woman?" Malcolm smiled with a meaningful look. He knew Marilyn had no husband and that only Roland was with her.
