Chapter 61

Ch. 61 / 281 Apr 07, 2026

Marilyn knew that Roland wanted to defend her, but it wasn't necessary.

Marilyn could solve her own problems.

If Roland were to get involved, it would instead make things complicated.

Debbie could then take advantage of this opportunity to make a fuss.

"Lynn..." Roland looked at her in annoyance.

Marilyn got bullied when Roland was right there with her.

Marilyn looked at Jacob's guilty handsome face and smiled warmly. "Roland, I'm really fine. I will handle it myself. Moreover, Debbie is not an unreasonable person."

Debbie had a strong hostility towards Marilyn because of Malcolm.

Marilyn would be fine if she stayed a little further away from Malcolm.

"I think she's unreasonable. She's always insulting others," Roland said angrily as he glanced at Debbie who was sitting in the car.

Meanwhile, Jacob glanced at Marilyn and then the barbecue stall before turning around to leave with Debbie.

Marilyn saw the helplessness and reluctance on Jacob's face.

Marilyn pursed her lips and watched them leave, planning to go home.

Marilyn turned back and glanced at the Warren's Barbecue, secretly remembering the location.

Marilyn looked back at Roland and smiled. "Roland, let's head back."

"Sure!" Roland nodded angrily.

Roland sent Marilyn back to her place. Roland left after he made sure Marilyn had gone upstairs, as usual.

But this time, Jacob felt a bit worried.

Someone was investigating Marilyn. Could that person be Malcolm?

Marilyn, as usual, went back to take a bath. She dried her hair and checked the time. It was almost 1 a.m. Yet she hadn't called her three children yet.

Marilyn glanced out of the window, wondering if there was any excuse to be absent from the banquet tomorrow night.

All the people of the upper class would go to such a banquet.

Marilyn suddenly narrowed her eyes and smiled coldly. Oh right, the Chambers family would also be there.

Thus, Marilyn had to be there tomorrow. Since she had come back for revenge, she could not miss the opportunity to get close to the Chambers family.

With this thought, Marilyn was in a much better mood.

Marilyn slept until dawn and was in good spirits!

Since Marilyn had to make some preparations, she got up at seven.

After washing up, she prepared a set of formal attire and checked her makeup bag. After everything was settled, she smiled at the mirror. Marilyn only left after she made sure that everything was perfect.

The sun in the morning was bright, and Marilyn's mood was like the bright sunshine.

When Marilyn arrived at the company, before she could enter the office, she was stopped by Julian.

"Ms. Chapman."

Marilyn turned around and saw Julian looking at her with a gentle smile.

Marilyn turned around and asked politely with a smile, "Mr. Munoz, what's the matter?"

Julian took a step forward and looked at Marilyn with a smile. "Ms. Chapman, Mr. Lowe has prepared a dress for you. I'll take you to try it."

"What? Now?" Marilyn was a little surprised.

There was still plenty of time before the evening banquet.

Julian's beautiful thin lips curled into a smile. "Mr. Lowe said that tonight's banquet is very important. We need to make preparations as early as possible."

Although Marilyn was puzzled, she still nodded.

Then Marilyn said, "Mr. Munoz, please wait a moment. Let me put my stuff in the office. Then I'll be back."

"Alright!" Julian smiled and nodded.

Marilyn turned around and walked into the office.

Julian looked at Marilyn's back, but the smile on his lips slowly froze. Malcolm insisted that Marilyn was Carolyn, so Julian could only let Malcolm do as he pleased.

All these years, Marilyn was the person that Malcolm had the deepest feelings for.

Gray wanted Marilyn to be Carolyn so that Malcolm wouldn't be in such great pain.

Alas!!

Julian sighed deeply.

Julian prayed in his heart that Carolyn was Carolyn so that Malcolm and his family would be united.

Julian scratched his head in frustration and anticipation.

There was obviously a quick path to confirm, but Malcolm insisted on taking the slow one. Julian knew of Malcolm's concerns.

Julian looked up and saw Marilyn walking over. He smiled at Marilyn again.

"Mr. Munoz, let's go now," Marilyn said with a smile. She wore a white dress and smiled slightly. She looked refreshing, like a blooming lily.

"Let's go!" Julian took Marilyn and left.

After they left, Billie walked to the door and looked at Marilyn's back coldly.

Billie curled her lips coldly, twisted her slender waist, and went back to call Sandra before happily getting to work.

Julian brought Marilyn to Malcolm's resting room, which was separated by frosted glass.

The entire resting room was bright, spacious, and luxurious.

Julian glanced at Marilyn and pointed to the changing room. He said, "Ms. Chapman, there are dresses that Mr. Lowe has prepared for you. Please try it on. Whichever you find suitable will be sent to the hotel in advance."

"Alright!" Marilyn nodded.

As Marilyn walked into the fitting room, she glanced at Julian. Yet she didn't spot the deeper meanings in Malcolm's smiling eyes.

The moment the door to the fitting room was closed, the smile on Julian's lips gradually widened.

A second layer was added to the fitting room overnight, only to tell Malcolm whether Marilyn was Carolyn or not.

Marilyn could not see Malcolm, but Malcolm could see Marilyn clearly.

Malcolm went crazy because he missed Carolyn too much. And recently, this Marilyn girl almost drove Julian crazy as well.

At least Julian found some useful information. Malcolm actually had a son.

However ... Why was everything about Marilyn wiped out?

If it was to hide from the Chambers family, it wasn't necessary.

These years, the Chambers family's business had been getting worse and worse.

They didn't have the energy to look into Marilyn.

Julian walked to the sofa and sat down. He crossed his legs elegantly and stared at the door of the fitting room with curiosity.

Julian wondered if Malcolm would feel horny when he saw Marilyn's curvy figure. After all, Malcolm hadn't been with women for years.

Julian thought to himself. He really wanted to see Malcolm's expression at that moment.

But ... Julian looked up and glanced at the fitting room. He wasn't bold enough to go over.

What a pity!

The fitting room was very big. Marilyn glanced at the evening dress. There were about twenty pieces, all of which were the most popular styles of the Lowe Group this year.

These clothes were designed by Hannah.

No wonder Hannah was recognized as one of the best designers in the country.

Marilyn always liked Hannah's design.

Marilyn glanced at the red dress. It was silky, soft, and had a unique style.

It was a style Marilyn had never seen before, but the red color wasn't fit for Marilyn. It was very suitable for Jeannie. Yet Marilyn was fitter for white. Her face looked too gentle and mild to match with red.

Marilyn picked up a small white dress. It was simple and close-fitting. Marilyn liked the style as well. She smiled with satisfaction and went back to the fitting room to change clothes.
