Destined by One Night: The CEO's Pursuit

Chapter 206

Ch. 206 / 281 Apr 07, 2026

"I'll be right there." What Malcolm said carried a bit of pampering.

Marilyn couldn't help but smile. She glanced at the endless barbecues and turned to walk into the store.

Just now, she had already called Dominic and Laverne and promised to bring supper for them when she returned later. Dominic and Laverne were very happy.

Dominic and Laverne would never make Marilyn worry about them.

Dominic would take good care of his younger brother and sister!

Marilyn, Denise, and Malcolm sat in a corner, which was much quieter than outside.

Marilyn handed Malcolm a pair of chopsticks.

Malcolm took a look at the seafood on the table. There were all kinds of stir-fried and cooked food on the table.

After exercising for a few hours, Malcolm was a little hungry.

"Denise, come on. Have a taste." Marilyn placed the soup in front of Denise.

Denise smiled and said, "Lynn, Mr. Lowe, it's been hard on you today."

"Denise, you don't have to be so polite!" Marilyn glared at Denise.

Denise did not speak but looked at Marilyn and Malcolm gratefully.

They finished their meal in half an hour. Marilyn picked up some food to bring home.

Denise had wanted to treat Marilyn and Malcolm. But Malcolm had rushed to pay. Denise had no choice but to give up.

Malcolm was in a good mood tonight.

Malcolm glanced at Marilyn and was, even more, looking forward to how shocked Marilyn would be when she saw him tomorrow.

It was hard for Malcolm to calm down at the thought of this.

"Lynn, I will send you back."

Marilyn glanced at Malcolm and shook her head, "There's no need for that. It is not far from my house here. I can walk home. You must be tired today. Go back and rest!"

Marilyn had to get up early for her flight at eight o'clock the next morning.

Malcolm frowned. He remembered that where Marilyn lived was far away from her.

"Let me send you back!" Malcolm persisted, without allowing any arguments.

"Well!" Marilyn glanced at Malcolm and thought he was a stubborn person.

Malcolm curled his lips into a faint smile. His smile lingered for a long time.

After Malcolm sent Marilyn and Denise back to their home, it was already late.

Malcolm took a look at Marilyn and saw that Marilyn did not intend to invite him in for a seat. His eyes darkened!

Marilyn looked at Malcolm and smiled, "Malcolm, be careful on the road!"

Looking at her tranquil smile, Malcolm smiled, "I see! Rest early!"

"Okay!" Marilyn nodded.

Malcolm drove away.

Marilyn exhaled. After Malcolm left, she felt much more relaxed.

Malcolm's uncertain smile was truly hard to fathom!

Denise stood not far away and said, "Lynn, let's go in!"

Marilyn nodded, "Denise, I have to leave for three days. Dominic will take care of himself. You just have to help me watch over them and make them not go outside."

"I see. Don't worry. I'm not busy at the moment. I have to wait until my aunt comes over. When she comes over, she will help me. I will be at home for the next few days."

Marilyn was even more relieved, "Denise, don't be tired. Don't forget that you have a baby in your belly."

"I see!" Denise smiled gently. Obviously, she was very happy!

As soon as Marilyn and Denise entered the door, Arturo and Laverne surrounded them.

"It smells so good!" Laverne swallowed a mouthful of saliva in excitement.

Marilyn looked at her excited expression and smiled dotingly.

Marilyn opened all the bags and smiled, "Have a taste. I brought these foods for you."

Dominic said, "Thank you, mom. Thank you, Denise!"

"We are a family, why are you being so polite?" Marilyn smiled and rubbed his head.

Marilyn looked up and glanced at the living room, which was filled with painting paper.

Marilyn looked at Laverne in bewilderment, "Laverne, how many times have I told you? You need to throw these useless papers into the trash can. How can you throw them all over the ground?"

Laverne casually turned around to look at Marilyn. While eating, she said, "Mom, I put it on the ground. I will clean it later. If you are tired, go to sleep first!"

As she spoke, Laverne made a face at Marilyn and then continued eating the prawns!

Marilyn shook her head helplessly, picked up the broom on the side, swept all the paper together, and then put them all into the garbage bag.

One of the drawings was open. Marilyn was just about to throw it into the garbage bag when she saw that it was a family portrait.

There were children and parents on the paper.

The word beside her was 'daddy'.

Marilyn felt upset. She looked up at Laverne and saw that Laverne was enjoying food happily.

Laverne yearned for her father.

With trembling hands, Marilyn threw the painting into the garbage bag.

However, there was a knot of tension in her stomach.

Denise came out of the bathroom. She looked at Marilyn and said with a smile, "Lynn, you should rest early too."

Marilyn returned to her senses and nodded at Denise.

Only then did Denise return to her room.

Marilyn waited for Arturo and Laverne to finish eating before she said, "Dominic, Mom has something to do and needs to go out for three days. For these three days, you have to stay at home obediently. Denise will take care of you. But you have to take care of yourself. Do you understand me?"

Dominic nodded gently, "Mom, don't worry! I will take good care of Laverne."

Laverne hurriedly nodded, "Mom, this is not the first time you put us at home. We have grown up and can take care of ourselves. Don't worry!"

"You are the one I am most worried about!" Marilyn looked at Laverne angrily.

"Mom?" Laverne looked at Marilyn with an injured face.

Marilyn looked straight at Laverne, "Don't tell me you didn't hit the little boy in our community."

Laverne blinked her eyes and looked at Dominic doubtfully. Who exposed her?

Dominic looked at Laverne quietly, neither denying nor admitting it.

Laverne forced a smile.

"Mom, it was a special situation. This won't happen again in the future."

"I hope so." Marilyn was helpless. Dominic and Arturo would not fight with others. But Laverne had a bad temper. She did not care about anything when she was angry.

Laverne frowned slightly and lowered her head unhappily.

Marilyn took a look and stopped talking about Laverne.

"It's getting late. Dominic, Laverne, go back and rest!"

"Okay! Mom, you should rest early too!" Dominic got up and walked to his room.

Laverne silently got up, lowered her head, and silently returned to her room.

Marilyn smiled and went upstairs to rest.
