Chapter 203

Ch. 203 / 281 Apr 07, 2026

Malcolm's words reminded Marilyn of what Roland had told her.

Malcolm had several car accidents before because somebody did something to his car.

Maybe what Roland had said was true. Yvonne wanted to kill Malcolm and then take all of his assets.

In her mind, she instantly realized that it wasn't easy for him.

Sometimes, she could see his fragile side from his sharp and dark eyes.

Malcolm watched as Hugo's car left and he retracted his gaze.

Looking at Marilyn from the side, he suddenly saw a bit of worry and pity in her eyes. His mood instantly improved a lot.

"Lynn, let's go straight to the garage," His tone was low but gentle.

"Okay!" Marilyn came back to her senses and nodded in panic.

Malcolm smiled and went to the garage.

Along the way, neither of them said a word.

Marilyn looked at Malcolm's lonely back, and she couldn't help but ache in her heart.

Malcolm regretted letting Marilyn see the scene just now.

Hugo and Yvonne were the two people that he hated the most in his life.

As soon as Malcolm saw Yvonne and Hugo, he remembered his past. At that time, he did not have the power as now. Everything was limited to them.

He endured the humiliation. Even if he was wronged and scolded by his father, he would always bear it in his mind.

The anger in his heart hadn't erupted until now. Perhaps he would be able to be relieved soon.

Malcolm opened the car door and let Marilyn sit in. Only then did he return to the driver's seat, starting the car and leaving the garage.

Only then did Malcolm speak, "Lynn, should we go directly to your house or..."

"Let's go to Lakeside Road," Marilyn interrupted him and told him the address.

Malcolm was a little confused. Why didn't she go home directly?

He asked her, "Lynn, what are you going there for?"

Marilyn looked at him with a mysterious smile, "You'll know when you get there."

"Alright!" Malcolm nodded gently.

He drove to the Lakeside District.

Malcolm suddenly thought of Sergio's words and asked, "Lynn, does Dominic like to use a computer?"

Marilyn nodded, "He likes it. I also bought him one in his room to watch TV or other things. He likes to be quiet alone or stays in his room all day, reading books, and occasionally watching TV."

"Is the computer just for watching TV?" Malcolm asked doubtfully.

Marilyn looked at him doubtfully, "He's such a young child. Are you worried that he'll go see the others?"

Malcolm smiled, "Lynn, you think too much. I didn't mean that. I just feel that Dominic is very obedient! He is reading all day long. I am very curious that he is very capable of self-discipline!"

"Of course. He is my son," Marilyn did not hide her proud tone. Her pretty little face was filled with a proud smile.

Malcolm replied to her in his heart, "He was also his son."

"Lynn, can you tell me what happened to you when you were a child?" Malcolm didn't know what was going on. At that moment, he just wanted her to tell him everything!

Marilyn suddenly looked at him strangely and asked, "Why do you want to know about my childhood?"

"We are friends now. Can't you tell me?" Malcolm saw that there were not many cars in front of him, so he quickly glanced at her.

Everyone had sorrow and joy in their lives, and he had heard too much of her sadness, so he wanted to hear something more!

Marilyn smiled, "You are such a strange person. Why do you ask about other people's childhood?

She said, "Don't you know that I am Marilyn? Do you think I will have a good life in the Chambers family?"

Speaking of the past, it was like revealing one's pain!

Malcolm suddenly said, "Lynn, since you don't want to say it, then let it go."

He was a little upset to have her expose her painful memories, which would only make her hurt again!

But he could not help but want to know more about her.

Marilyn gave him a deep look and lowered her head, "Malcolm, I didn't live well when I was a child! There is nothing to be mentioned."

Malcolm's heart instantly ached!

He knew that she did not have a good time when she was young!

If it wasn't for him, she wouldn't get lost.

Malcolm went deeper into the question. He thought about it and asked, "Lynn, I promised you that I would help you find your parents. How did you get to the Chambers family when you were young?"

"You do not know?" Marilyn shook her head. If she knew the whole story, she would not have sent those messages to Margie.

When Malcolm heard this, he apologized in his heart. Right now he could not tell Marilyn about her background. Velma would not behave herself.

At the very least, he would only speak of this matter after Velma left the Remington family and married Hugo!

"Take your time! Don't be anxious!" Marilyn's tone was a little disappointed. It was a lie to say that she was not in a hurry. Her only wish was to know if her parents were doing well. If they were well, she would be relieved.

"Lynn, don't worry. We will find them." Malcolm's tone was soft and gentle, with a warmth that could comfort people.

Marilyn smiled and nodded, "Malcolm, thank you!"

"No need!" Malcolm looked at her gently.

Marilyn looked at the surroundings and reminded, "Malcolm, drive the car to the parking lot. We'll get off and walk over!"

Malcolm asked doubtfully, "Lynn, are Dominic and Laverne here?" At the thought of seeing his daughter, Malcolm couldn't help but feel excited.

Marilyn looked at Malcolm with an embarrassed expression. "Malcolm, I'm sorry. I asked you to come here today to do some work."

"Well..." Malcolm.

"Work?" He was instantly puzzled.

"Lynn, what do you mean?"

"You'll know when you get there," Marilyn wanted to keep a secret.

Malcolm smiled gently and Marilyn looked at him. A glimpse of gentleness made her a little stunned.

Malcolm was just like a monster. She had to admit that sometimes she would be confused by his gentle smile.

Malcolm parked the car and the two of them got off the car. Marilyn took him to Denise's shop.

The sunset glow, like the bright fire, shuttled through the tall buildings, which made the view somewhat blurry.

There were a lot of people on the streets, lively and bustling!

Malcolm looked at the busy street. He knew that this was the Night Market of the Lakeside District.

He glanced sideways at Marilyn and asked, "Lynn, what are we doing here?"

Marilyn pointed to the shop not far away and said, "Let's go to the shop."
