Malcolm turned to look at her and smiled. "Lynn, do you remember what I told you? She has been back, but she doesn't remember me."
Marilyn was so surprised.
"That's right! You seem to have said so before! Who is it?" She looked at him and asked.
Malcolm thought, "Lynn, it's you!"
Malcolm did not say anything and just quietly walked forward, holding her hand.
Getting no response, Marilyn knew that he didn't want to talk about it!
She wasn't' disposed to probe into it and thought it might be a surprise in the future!
Then Marilyn gave a wry smile.
She didn't know why she was curious about his story.
She also wondered why the girl he talked about sounded so familiar to her.
Marilyn was bothered by so many questions.
She seemed to have the answer but didn't dare to go deeper into it.
"Lynn, are you going to the exhibition tomorrow?" Malcolm asked.
Marilyn shook her head. "No. I've grabbed a tour around it today and recorded some useful information. So I'd like to take a day off tomorrow..."
Marilyn suddenly paused halfway through her words before looking at him and saying helplessly, "Malcolm, are you here for business? Then why not just focus on your business? Why do you have to stay in the same hotel as me? I've been longing for a tour around Summerford and I want to do it on my own tomorrow.
"But now I almost forget this tour and even become your girlfriend. If so, will you join me for tomorrow's shopping?
"Isn't shopping the most terrible activity for you men?"
Malcolm chuckled. "Lynn, you're just talking nonsense.
"You won't forget this tour. Besides, I don't hate shopping. I'll keep you company tomorrow!"
Marilyn curled her lips. "Malcolm, I'll go to many places, and it'll be very tiring. Will you bother to join me given that you're so busy and popular as a president?"
"I will!" Malcolm nodded firmly.
What he was most afraid of was being left alone to miss her. He was also afraid of her sudden disappearance after showing up? Then he would be at a loss.
When he went to those places the two of them had been to, the one who once kept him company was nowhere to be seen despite the same scenery.
At that time, he couldn't even bear the overwhelming pain.
"Fine! Anyway, I've promised to be your girlfriend for two days. If you can grant my request, I will do the same for you.
"This is a fair exchange. Then we will be even." Marilyn looked at him with a smile and then looked over at the street not far away.
It was almost midnight, but the streets here were still bustling with people, as during the daytime.
Malcolm shook his head helplessly and realized how much she hated to owe others a favor.
Suddenly, Marilyn's phone rang, which made her quite surprised. She was wondering who would call her so late at night.
She glanced at the number and frowned slightly. "Hello? Mom, it's so late. Why are you still awake?"
"Lynn, Dominic said that you had gone to Summerford. Is that so?"
"Yes! Mom, I'm here for an exhibition. I will be back the day after tomorrow. Dominic and the others have been left in Denise's care, so you don't have to worry. Just enjoy the journey with Dad!"
"Well, then I have nothing to worry about. Take care of yourself there. It sounds like you're still staying outside?"
Marilyn smiled. "Mom, I'm outside, but don't worry. I'm strolling along the night market with Mr. Lowe. I'll be fine."
Her mother suddenly fell silent.
Marilyn looked at her phone in confusion and wondered why her mother was silent since she didn't hang up.
"Mom, can you hear me?" she shouted.
"Sorry, Lynn. Then just enjoy your journey. You don't have to be back in a hurry the day after tomorrow. Dominic and Denise can take good care of Laverne.
"After all, you've been longing to go to Summerford. Have a good time there!"
Marilyn was even more confused.
She was quite surprised at the change in her mother's attitude!
"Mom, why do you suddenly..."
"Lynn, I heard that Mr. Lowe was a nice person."
Marilyn quickly turned to glance at Malcolm.
She smiled and said, "Mom, are you serious? I don't think he's nice."
"Lynn, is there any misunderstanding between you two?" Elvira asked anxiously.
Upon hearing this, Marilyn became even more confused!
"Mom, are you rushing me to marry someone? I've told you that I will stay with you for the rest of my life to take good care of you!" Her voice was so fascinatingly sweet, like the lollipop she loved.
"Don't be silly. As long as you are happy, I will be happy. Well, your father is here. We have to go back and rest. Don't stay outside too late!"
"Alright, mom. See you!"
When Marilyn hung up the phone, she looked at Malcolm. She smiled and said, "Malcolm, it turns out you are so charming. Even my mother thinks highly of you!
"But as a single mother with three children, I know I'm not worthy of you at all."
Hearing her words, Malcolm did not know whether to be angry or happy.
He was overwhelmed by pain!
"Lynn, do you regret giving birth to your children?" This was the question he always wanted to ask.
Although she did not know who the father of the children was, she still gave birth to them, which made him so surprised!
Marilyn shook her head slightly and said firmly, "Malcolm, I have never regretted it. I had no family. But now I have the three of them as my family. No matter who their father is, I will have no regrets!
"All I want is a peaceful life and a happy family!" This was her only wish.
Hearing that, Malcolm was both happy and distressed.
He said with a teasing smile, "Lynn, I have to say your mother has a good eye for good men! But why can't you see the good sides in me?"
Marilyn glared at him, "Malcolm, don't talk nonsense."
Malcolm said, "Lynn, I'm not talking nonsense. But your ideas are so weird!"
Marilyn glanced at him and said nothing!
Any woman would be fascinated by such a rich, powerful, and handsome man as him. She was no exception although she had children!
Occasionally, she also couldn't resist the temptation!
But she was afraid that if she had such designs on him, then Roland...
Marilyn instantly stopped herself from thinking about it!
She knew she could not have such an idea that would make her a stain on Roland who was such a dazzling existence.
Sometimes, she could see Roland's affection for her.
But she always disappointed him over and over again and even hurt him deeply!
"Alas!" Marilyn sighed deeply.
