Destined by One Night: The CEO's Pursuit

Chapter 215

Ch. 215 / 281 Apr 07, 2026

On the balcony, there was a wooden table with a bouquet of roses on it, and the shining lights around it made it so romantic.

When Marilyn saw this place, she liked it very much. This place was just like her dream when she was a child. She always wanted to sit here. Under the hazy night, she quietly watched the sea and sky merge in one color.

Her heart suddenly calmed down.

"This place is so beautiful!" Marilyn quietly looked at the blue ocean. The moon had already revealed a half and the rest part was hidden under the horizon. That mysterious feeling was so charming!

Malcolm looked at her and smiled gently. He knew that she would like this place.

He thought, 'Marilyn, this is your dream when you were a child!

Everything you said and everything you want to do is deeply imprinted in the bottom of my heart.

In the future, I will accompany you all the time and complete all your dreams!'

"Lynn, do you like this place?" he asked in a gentle tone.

Marilyn slowly retracted her gaze and looked at Malcolm, smiling at him, "Yes, I do!"

The two of them looked like they were in love.

Both of them had each other's figures in their eyes.

"Lynn, I knew you would like it." Malcolm looked at Marilyn lovingly.

Marilyn looked at him with a deep gaze. She wondered why everything seemed to be arranged according to her preferences.

"Malcolm, do you know what kind of drink I like?" Marilyn suddenly asked.

Malcolm smiled and said happily, "Lynn, haven't you always liked to juice and lollipops in strawberry flavor?"

Marilyn's heart was instantly overwhelmed by an inexplicable emotion. Her fists curled up slightly, and the complicated emotions in her heart surged.

"Malcolm, how did you know it? Or did Lynn like this too?" This time, Marilyn looked at him with a serious gaze.

Malcolm pulled out a chair and said, "Lynn, sit down first."

Marilyn slowly sat down, and Malcolm also sat down.

She looked at him sideways, waiting for his answer.

Malcolm glanced at her, then looked at the sea in the distance. "Lynn, it is not difficult to know this. We work in the same company, so I know what you like!"

"You are quite careful. I don't know why I like to eat strawberry-flavored things so much! It is as if I was born to be fond of them!"

Marilyn carefully thought back to all these years. That kind of smell seemed to have embedded itself into her life.

"Lynn, maybe it's related to something you always liked when you were young. Even if you lost your memory because of an accident, you just forgot some things. There are also some things that have followed you all the time. You still like these things subconsciously."

Marilyn shook her head slightly, and then said, "I didn't know how I went to the Chambers family before, but a few years ago, I had an accident and suddenly heard the conversation between Mrs. Chambers and her daughter."

"I was not the adopted daughter of their family but was hit by Margie's car. She thought I was dead and took me away."

"However, I survived. They probably didn't dare to take another person's life back then, for they were avoiding their creditors. That's why they kept me alive..." Marilyn stopped talking.

Recalling the past required great courage. During these years, besides speaking to Denise, only Marilyn's mother, Roland, and Jeannie knew.

When Malcolm heard this news, he was shocked deeply.

He had always suspected that Marilyn had been in a car accident back then. Otherwise, she wouldn't have disappeared so quickly.

After crossing the road, he only stayed there for a few minutes. After the anger in his heart subsided a little, he went back to look for Marilyn.

He always remembered that Marilyn followed him out in the heavy rain.

Although it was not the first time, he was still worried. He did not stay for long and went back soon.

However, after returning, he found that there was no longer any trace of Marilyn.

In his life, even the last light had disappeared!

At that time, he was immersed in pain all day and had to deal with Yvonne, that terrible woman!

At that time, he really wanted to die!

"Lynn, did you say that you were taken away after Margie hit you when you were young?" Malcolm suddenly asked in an urgent tone.

"Yes!" Marilyn nodded. She did not know why, but she suddenly wanted to tell him about it.

"Oh..." Malcolm was instantly in pain.

This sudden news instantly stimulated the pain that he had been hiding in his heart for a long time.

He put his hands on the table and clenched his hands with all his strength. The veins on the back of his hands bulged, and he instantly lost his soul. Even his breathing became rapid and painful.

Marilyn was stunned and asked, "Malcolm, what happened?"

Marilyn saw that Malcolm suddenly felt particularly painful. She didn't know what was going on.

Had she said something to provoke him just now?

Malcolm suddenly grabbed Marilyn's hand and looked at her closely. The complicated emotions in his eyes were shocking!

Marilyn suddenly felt a great pain coming from her hand, but looking at Malcolm's painful expression, she just frowned and did not say anything.

"Sir, your dishes are ready." The restaurant manager came over with a dining cart.

He looked at the two with a gentle smile.

Malcolm was still in the same state as before, looking at Marilyn with distress and guilt.

Marilyn tried to pull her hand and found that Malcolm's grip was so tight that she could not retreat her hand no matter what.

Marilyn turned around and smiled at the restaurant manager. "Then serve the food!" She was already hungry.

After walking for quite a while, Marilyn was really starving.

"Alright!" The manager nodded slightly and brought all the dishes to the table.

Looking at the tension between the two, he quickly pushed the dining cart away.

"Malcolm, what happened to you?" Malcolm remained unmoving, not even blinking.

He kept looking at her in the same position.

"Say something, Malcolm." She raised her voice and looked at him worriedly.

Malcolm snapped out of his daze and quickly let go of her hand as he looked at her pale hand that he had pinched.

"Lynn, I'm fine. Don't worry." His dry voice sounded like he had fought a demon before, and it was trembling slightly.

Marilyn frowned, but she did not look away for a long time.

"You..."

"Lynn, I'm really fine. Just now, I just remembered some bad things." Malcolm forced a smile on his face.

His profile, under the shining colorful lights around him, was flickering.

Marilyn sighed slightly. Malcolm definitely had some things just now, but if he didn't say it, she couldn't ask too much.
