Melinda's POV
"What bomb?" Cliff's body tensed instantly, his voice carrying a tremor of tension.
I was also startled, my first instinct being to get away from here as quickly as possible.
But the three men in front of me clearly had no such intention.
"There's a bomb in the building. Derrick and I will look for the bomb, and you find Vanya. Once you find her, evacuate immediately," Theodore said swiftly.
Jasper, tied up on the ground, stammered, "It's... it's useless. I told them to plant three bombs in each building to completely destroy the evidence, and they'll detonate in fifteen minutes..."
"What are you saying?! Such important information and you only tell us now!" Derrick rushed over, grabbing Jasper's collar as if he wanted to tear him apart.
Jasper, already beaten to a pulp. He didn't dare to raise his head, curling into a ball.
"There's no time to defuse the bomb, go find Vanya!" Theodore finished, dashing into the abandoned building filled with unknown dangers like an arrow off a bowstring, with Derrick following closely behind without hesitation.
'Were they all crazy?'
I watched the two departing figures in a daze.
At this moment, Cliff said to the driver, "Take Melinda out and wait for my news!"
"Yes, Alpha Cliff!"
"Alpha Cliff, aren't you coming with me?" I asked hurriedly.
Cliff glanced at me and said, "Vanya is the Luna of the Silver Moon Pack, and besides, those two have gone to rescue her. I can't just leave."
With that, he immediately followed Theodore and Derrick.
The driver pulled me into the car, and he drove outside that building.
I couldn't help but ask, "Is Luna Vanya in great danger now?"
"Yes, Ms. Coleman, you must not move around casually. This place has been rigged with bombs."
I obediently nodded my head.
I glanced at the unfinished building, a sinister thought suddenly crossing my mind.
'If only Vanya could die here!'
Vanya's POV
In the darkness, my consciousness was chaotic.
Suddenly, my wolf Selena urgently called out in my mind, "Vanya, wake up! I sense our mate is coming, and you are in danger!"
"What are you saying?" I responded groggily in my mind.
Then, I realized that Selena could actually communicate with me.
I jolted awake, gradually regaining consciousness from the fog, feeling my head shrouded in a dense fog, feeling groggy.
"Vanya! Vanya! If you hear me, respond!"
A shout abruptly echoed in the silent and gloomy unfinished building, and I slowly opened my eyes in a daze. The voice sounded like Cliff's.
I instinctively shook my head, my heart filled with doubt and self-mockery.
How could Cliff possibly be here?
He must be with Melinda in some romantic corner, whispering sweet nothings.
"Vanya!"
As I was immersed in these chaotic thoughts, I suddenly heard Theodore's anxious shout.
The sound was like an electric current passing through my body, instantly sobering my unclear mind.
'Was that Theodore?'
I focused and listened carefully, hearing what seemed to be Derrick's and Cliff's voices intertwined.
Could it be that Cliff really came?
"Selena, you just said our mate is here, did you sense Cliff?" I asked in my mind.
I felt strange because, since my rebirth, I've lacked the connection between mates with Cliff.
Although I knew our mate bond was not completely severed.
Unfortunately, after I woke up, my wolf's response became vague.
"Maybe I'm tired," it responded and fell silent.
I began to examine where I was, realizing I was trapped in a pitch-black room.
Only a few strands of moonlight, as thin as spider silk, struggled to seep in through the narrow gaps.
However, from my position, I could barely make out the outside.
Undoubtedly, this was an abandoned, unfinished building.
"Ugh! Ugh!" I desperately wanted to shout for help, but my mouth was tightly wrapped with a thick bandage, preventing any sound from escaping.
I cursed silently in my heart. Who would treat me like this?
I exerted all my strength to struggle, trying to break free from the nylon ropes binding my hands and feet, the ropes digging deep into my skin, causing unbearable pain.
Although I was a werewolf with great strength, this nylon rope was incredibly tough, nothing like the hemp rope I knew. No matter how I struggled, I couldn't break free.
No, I couldn't panic. I must calm down. I kept encouraging myself in my heart.
I took a deep breath, forcing myself to calm down, my eyes scanning the surroundings like a radar.
Suddenly, I seemed to hear a faint "beep beep" sound.
My heart lurched, a sense of extreme danger flooding my chest.
'It's a bomb!'
I dared not hesitate any longer, immediately lowering my body, crawling out of the room like a wounded animal, struggling towards the outside.
Finally crawling out of this hollowed-out room, the rickety corridor of the unfinished building lay ahead.
I glanced down, feeling a chill in my heart.
It must be several stories high from the ground. Falling would surely mean being smashed to pieces.
