Contract With Alpha Theodore

Chapter 13

Ch. 13 / 220 Apr 30, 2026

Vanya's POV

I still remember that usually, he hardly bothered to mention my identity.

I said bluntly, "You're just worried that I'll lose the five million dollars and drag the Silver Moon Pack down with me."

Cliff fell silent immediately, his expression freezing, looking as if I had hit the nail on the head.

Seeing his reaction, I was sure my guess was correct.

I continued calmly, "You can rest assured, I won't drag the Silver Moon Pack's company into this. I am well aware that we became mates due to the interests between our packs. You and I, we rise and fall together. Now, you don't need to come back so frequently."

Cliff's lips trembled slightly, but he was momentarily speechless.

After we completed the mating ceremony, he only marked me and didn't even consummate our relationship.

I thought this was also the reason why my wolf didn't have a painful reaction to his transgressions.

Hearing me say this, he seemed to be struck by lightning, as if he suddenly realized how bad his actions were.

My phone rang at that moment, and a remittance message caught my eye.

I didn't expect Theodore to act so quickly. Only an hour had passed, and four million had arrived.

The matter was smoothly resolved, and my mouth curled up involuntarily.

"Tonight there is a banquet, and you need to attend with me," Cliff said, his tone unquestionable.

"Me?" I was about to step onto the stairs when I heard this and couldn't help frowning.

Cliff retorted, "Are you unwilling?"

"Why don't you take Melinda?"

I was full of doubts, and memories from my past life involuntarily surfaced.

In my previous life, Cliff would always bring Melinda to dinner parties.

If I remember correctly, this was a business dinner, and I had begged to go, but Cliff still chose Melinda.

This also paved the way for Melinda's development after her return from studying abroad.

Why would Cliff suddenly invite me to such an important occasion?

"You are my Luna. Naturally, you should accompany me to such occasions," Cliff explained.

I scoffed at his explanation, thinking that Melinda must have had something else to do, and Cliff only thought of me as a second choice.

Well, such occasions are indeed a good opportunity for me to expand my network, especially since I want to develop the Thunder Pack in the future.

"Alright, I'll get ready now," I said, then turned and walked towards my room.

Melinda's POV

I was in the study room of the werewolf school, happily playing with the dress that Cliff had sent Elliot to deliver.

The students around me cast envious glances, their eyes full of speculation and admiration for my relationship with Cliff.

"Melinda, your mate is so good to you, sending you such a beautiful dress," a classmate said with undisguised envy.

My heart was filled with sweetness.

"When can you introduce your mate to us?" another classmate asked curiously.

"Yeah, your boyfriend is so wealthy and always takes you to various banquets. He must be an Alpha! We are all curious, which pack does he belong to?"

Other students also chimed in.

I shook my head gently, with a tone of restraint and helplessness, "His company is very busy, and he really can't spare the time. When there is a suitable opportunity next time, I will definitely introduce you guys to him."

Just as I was immersed in the pleasant atmosphere of being envied, my phone suddenly rang.

Seeing that it was Elliot's call, I eagerly answered.

"Elliot, has Alpha Cliff sent you to pick me up? I'm ready to go down," I said impatiently, already looking forward to the upcoming banquet.

However, the next words from Elliot were like a bolt from the blue, instantly shattering the beautiful vision in my heart.

"Alpha Cliff said you don't need to come today."

At that moment, I felt my face stiffen.

"Why?" I asked anxiously, my voice trembling uncontrollably.

"Alpha Cliff is taking Luna Vanya tonight, so it's not convenient for you to attend," Elliot's voice was calm and indifferent, but it was like a sharp knife, stabbing straight into my heart.

I endured the intense pain in my heart, full of bitterness and helplessness. "So he'll be there with Luna Vanya... That's really great, I didn't want to go anyway..."

"Okay," Elliot said and hung up the phone.

I still held the phone in a daze, biting my lower lip so tightly that it hurt before I came to my senses.

The students around me looked at each other, their eyes full of doubt.

"What's wrong, Melinda?" a classmate asked cautiously.

"I heard that this banquet is an international business dinner. Didn't you say your boyfriend organized this dinner to introduce you to some foreign entrepreneurs?" another classmate couldn't help voicing their doubts.

I tried to smile and said, "He has a very important client to bring along, so I'd better not cause him any trouble."

I slowly lowered my head, my heart full of doubts and unwillingness. Cliff always avoided Vanya, so how could he suddenly change his mind?

My hands subconsciously clenched the dress, the soft fabric crumpling in my grip.

I vowed in my heart that I had been looking forward to tonight's banquet for so long, and I absolutely could not give up so easily.
