Chapter 36

Ch. 36 / 324 Jul 29, 2025

Rose Dior stood by the bed anxiously, looking distressed. Any stranger would have thought that she was a good daughter. In fact, Madam Bishop was her only protective umbrella in the Bishop family. If Madam Bishop passed away, her identity as "Miss Bishop" would disappear. It would be devastating to her.

Therefore, there was no one else at present who was wishing more for Madam Bishop's recovery.

The old lady on the bed had a distorted facial expression, half of her body was paralyzed. It was obvious that she had a stroke. Where did the dominion she had always possessed go?

Hank glanced at his grandmother indifferently and said, "Just quickly send her to the hospital."

Simon Bishop said, "It wouldn't be good if she caught a cold, I'll ask the servants to bring some blankets over..."

Sara suddenly stepped forward, pushing Rose aside. She sat on the bedside and reached out to lift Madam Bishop's eyelids. She spoke softly, "Madam Bishop, open your mouth please."

Madam Bishop was not completely unconscious. She subconciously opened her mouth. Upon closer inspection, Sara found that her tongue was dull and coated with a thin and white film.

She then checked on Madam Bishop's pulse. When she discovered that her heartbeat was irregular, she frowned, turning to ask Aunt Lester who was kneeling down, "Has Madam Bishop been complaining of dizziness lately? Is she easily annoyed and irritable?"

Aunt Lester was stunned. She quickly nodded, "Yes, yes, yes! You're right!"

Rose, being pushed away, watched as Sara poked and prodded at Madam Bishop. She angrily rebuked her, "What on earth are you doing? Could you bear the responsibility if something happened to her?!"

Sara ignored her. She frowned as she said, "There are many possible causes, including unstable emotion, lack of dietary consistency, climate change and so on. Madam Bishop might have had a stroke because of emotional instability and climate change. Unfortunately, the optimal time for treatment has passed, even if we send her to the hospital now, it wouldn't be of much help."

Rose was shocked. After Sara had finished speaking, she immediately responded crassly, "So, are we going to just stay here and do nothing? Sara, I warn you, stop talking nonsense here! I know you learnt some insignificant medical knowledge but Madam Bishop isn't a test subject for you to show off! Anyway, wasn't her emotional instability caused by you?"

Rose had almost gone crazy. She even ignored Hank's presence, telling Sara off.

Sara lowered her gaze. It wasn't because of Rose but she had recalled something-Master Bishop and his grandmother were not getting along.

She was not exaggerating. Stroke could kill someone. So much time had passed since Madam Bishop initially had the stroke. Madam Bishop might die on the way to the hospital, it would be pointless. Having read most of the Lowell family's medical books,Sara was confident on saving Madam Bishop. However, what she feared was...

Thinking of that, Sara's gaze fell on Hank.

What she feared was that by saving the Madam, she would upset Master Bishop.

Hank, who had been expressionless, suddenly showed a smile on his face. He stroked his chin and asked, "Why are you looking at me?"

She bit her lower lip so hard that it left a mark on her rosy lips. Although she wasn't saying anything, he could tell what she was thinking from her eyes.

Hank seemed nonchalant as he said, "Do as you please."

It appeared as though Madam Bishop's life had nothing to do with him.

Sara let out a sigh of relief.

Since she was little, her grandfather had told her that the most important thing as a doctor wasn't saving the world, or making a name for yourself, it was to be benevolent.

She couldn't possibly just idle around and let Mrs. Bishop die, even if Mrs. Bishop had always stirred up trouble for her.

Rose seemed to think of something, she quickly blocked in front of Madam Bishop, "Hank, are you crazy?! You let such a dumb girl treat grandma? I am against this! We must go to the hospital!"

Dr. Livingston had no idea who Sara was. He frowned, "Young woman, this is a matter of life and death. Just because you know the theory of medicine, it doesn't mean you could successfully put it into practice! Stop wasting the time. We should send her to the hospital now!"

Camilla Rubio had been silently standing aside, she looked at Hank and saying gently, "That's right, Miss Martin. We're running out of time, it's really not the time for you to practice. Even Dr. Livingston, who was one of the best doctors in the medical field, can't do anything about it. Put your pride aside and we should send Madam Bishop to the hospital!"

Rose glared at Sara, "I know that you hate grandma because she's been stirring up trouble for you. Therefore, you're using this chance to get rid of her, aren't you? Don't you dare, I'm warning you!

Rose was certain that it was Hank who had wanted to kill Madam Bishop. That was why he deliberately allowed Sara to do as she wished. She wouldn't allow Hank to do so!

Sara gritted her teeth. Looking at Madam Bishop, whose face was getting paler, she was getting more and more anxious. There couldn't be any unnecessary delay in treatment for a stroke victim. Even someone as skilled as her grandfather would not be able to save Madam Bishop if they dawdled any longer!

However, as the situation became more critical, she was getting calmer. Under the light, she looked oddly ethereal. She looked at Rose with determination in her eyes, "Miss Dior, please trust me. I won't harm Madam Bishop. If we wait any longer, it will really be too late!"

Rose's eyes turned red, "I'm warning you! Don't you dare! Grandma is in this state because of you! Get out!"

Anger was burning in Sara's heart as well, but she was not the type to lash out. She could only push Rose aside. Unexpectedly, although Rose looked frail, she had great strength and managed to push Sara outside.

Sara was surprised. She didn't fall to the ground-Hank grasped her by the waist.

His gaze was cold. He did not look at Sara when he said, "Move Rose aside."

No one would dare to disobey him. The servants begrudgingly pulled Rose aside.

"Hank, you must be crazy! You're insane! That's your grandmother!" Rose screamed.

"I know it better than you." Hank replied scornfully.

"Brother." Simon's face darkened, looking at Hank, "Are you sure?"

Hank said lazily, "I'm not a doctor, no point asking me."

Simon looked at Sara, who was using every spare second to check on Madam Bishop. As he was about to ask her, Hank interrupted coldly, "Don't disturb her."

Simon fell into silence.

There was a cold sweat on the tip of Sara's nose, but she was surprisingly calm. Closing her eyes, she said, "Madam Bishop's pulse is irregular because of phlegm and blood stagnation. I'll prescribe her something to accelerate her blood circulation and clear the phlegm."
